8-23-03 Cruise Day 3 (8-25)

[Verandah Man]

*Monday August 25 2003*

I caved in this morning, I went to the Internet Cafe and found my way to the DISboards, how did I get there??? LOL!!! The temptation walking past the Internet Cafe was just too strong for me. I could hear the keyboards calling out to me, "Hey Verandah Man run your fingers across my keys." So, I did. I made two "short" post, and got off as soon as I could!!!

DW went to the Rainforest Spa for a few hours this afternoon, and I am here working on my trip notes waiting for Donna to arrive to give her presentation about future cruises, we are meeting in the Promenade Lounge, and I can hear those computer keyboards calling my name again!!! I need help!!! We are running into some thunderstorms and the waves are running about 8-13 feet, but the ship is still sailing smooth as far as I am concerned. I spoke with Donna after her presentation and gave her the date that we are interested in for a cruise next summer going to St. Thomas, San Juan, and CC. Donna said she would leave a message on our cabin voice mail with the price of the cruise later that night.

While we were out and about Monday afternoon, another surprise was delivered to our cabin. We walked in and found a plate full of hors-d'oeuvres on our table. My DW and I went out on the verandah with the plate of hors-d'oeuvres and the bottle of champagne and toasted the DCL for this "MAGICal" experience!!!

DW and I went to see Hercules the MUSE-ical, we had a blast, that show was so funny!!! Lisa (lisak1) and her family sat behind us, I know they were enjoying it, because I could hear them laughing as well. After the show we went back to our cabin to get ready for dinner. Tonight we were dining at Lumiere's, I had the Pork Tenderloin, it was "EXCELLENT" as was our serving team of Roberto, Prudence, and Tommy, I can't say enough nice things about these three people, they took "EXCELLENT" care of us!!!

We called it an early night tonight, tomorrow we arrive at St. Maarten, and we have to find DD something different to wear for Tropical Night. DW and I went to bed and DD went off with my Dmom, Dsis, and Dniece to go see a movie. Neither DW, nor I, even heard our DD come back into our cabin that night.

It is so nice to hear what a good time you had! It makes me really look forward to our cruise! It's nice to hear that a fellow NJ'er was treated so nicely after panicking reading how people don't want to be at DIsney during "NJ week". I had no idea we were looked at in such a negative manner!! I am hoping it's the crowds and that people from NJ aren't sterotyped!! God forbid! I do not have any accent!! Glad you and your family had another spectacular time and here's to many happy healthy years ahead of more magic!! Welcome Home! 25 more days till WDW!

Great report Andy,
I had the same dining rotation as you APL, but I was early seating. Can I just say, Tommy was awesome!! Although he was not our head server, Nick was, he became friends with my DS, who is also a red-headed Tommy. All week he would chat with us whenever he saw us, in the dining rooms and on deck. What a nice guy!
I was sad to hear he was going home on Saturday. I hope he comes back, I am sure Tommy would like to see him again on our next cruise.
