You may be thinking of when members trade reservations. For instance, I own at BWV and book you a room at my 11 month window with your name on it. You own at VWL and book me a room at your 11 month window with my name on it. It's really just you using your points and me using mine, but rather than transferring, we just make the reservations for one another.
 
It's funny how different stories are told by MS. I called Wednesday to clear up a question I had and asked about the "system".

I was told that "we are still loading the new request information into the system and hopefully it shoudn't take much longer".

Well we'll just see.......

Actually, it is my understanding, and personal experience, that once the points are transferred, they do become the current memebers UY and home resort. Their tracking system can't distinguish from one to the other. We had another member transfer her OKW '03 points to our BW '03 UY and when I had called to check on the ressie, the CM couldn't tell me the difference in the points! Maybe we were an odd case. In theory they are supposed to hold onto their HR status, but I don't think in practice that's what has been happening.
 
Friday morning update: Still no BWV reservations today! The CM had no idea what the "technical difficulties" were.:rolleyes:
 

I just got off the phone and they were up and running :confused:

Of course, I had to waitlist :p
 
Well, when I called first thing this morning, they said no reservations for BWV today. I asked if they would start accepting them at some point during the day, and the CM said, "no, that wouldn't be fair".

Then I got a phone call at home telling me to call right away, because the system was able to accept BWV reservations!

So I called and had no problem getting my room reserved.


I thought it was great that they called me to let me know. I guess since they were notified only 15 minutes after the phones opened, it wasn't too hard to call back everybody who had called this morning.

I'm just glad my wife was home or I would have had to wait until Monday morning!
 
Granny, I'm glad you finally got them! I'm a little paranoid though, after this many days of computer troubles, I'd probably call back next week and make sure they are not lost in the system!:eek:

I've got the reservation confirmation number....and I'm doing a day by day, so for sure I'll be calling again next week! :p

Day-by -day? Granny, are you trying for the Grand Villa? Why else would you be working so hard 11 months out?

Leigh Ann...not the GV, but I am booking Standard View. And I really need to make it Standard View to make my points work out for the next two years. So I'm just making doubly sure by booking day-by-day.

It's not "hard work" really...I've called MS five times this week and my longest wait was 3 minutes. And next week when I call, each call will last less than 30 seconds to add another day.
 
Granny - thank you so much for updating us. I saw your post and got right on the phone to MS. I was able to switch my reservation over to BWV. Hope your ressie works out too. FYI - the person I spoke to said you will now know, at booking, if you have BW view, preferred view (pool or garden) or standard view. I was still able to request other things like near elevator or first floor but I don't think those things are guaranteed. Not sure if this is the same info everyone else is receiving.
 
Granny - I thought of you yesterday!

As I sat at work, closely watching that clock approach 9AM so I could call MS, I remembered your post. I remember how worried you were that the system wasn't up and you wouldn't be able to get the selection you wanted. Well I had similiar concerns as well. I was afraid that after the system was unavailable for so long that MS would be bogged down with calls.

But I did get in and I did get my Standard View 1 BR for next July! I was really, really close to requesting a Preferred View and trying for that elusive BW View. But I just couldn't see spending all those extra points. And I do hate borrowing from the next use year! :)

But I just thought you'd like to know "you were thought of"! :)
