After a long summer of waiting, socal APs are unblocked and BF and I took advantage with a morning trip today. We got there right before rope drop and left right before 2. Overall, I was so happy to be back in the parks after a summer of reading DIS and was pleasantly surprised at the crowd levels today. I thought it would just be insane, but the morning was really nice. Other than Tomorrowland, everything was pretty quiet and empty this morning until around 11. Waits are longer now, but still manageable.
Highlights:
-Got to ride ST for the second time (first was opening weekend, so only one ride sadly) and loved it even more. We didn't repeat any scenes from the first ride, which was really nice, and I was just grinning the whole time.
-Still lost to BF at Astroblasters even though I had secretly read tips and hints on what to hit and where. Not happy about that.
-Went on LM for the first time and I liked it, but BF didn't. I will admit, the first part of the ride is much better than the end, which felt kind of rushed to me. Ursula was amazing and I loved the Under the Sea Scene.
-Went on Soarin' right at 10 am and waited MUCH longer than the posted wait time (said 10 min, was really 25) so that was odd. I usually find the wait times to be conservative, but not this time.
-Used the mousewaits App for the first time (have a new phone that actually runs it now) and BF and I really like all the info it has and had fun updating the times, although I had a lot of issues with connectivity in the parks. I have Tmobile and have never had a problem texting/calling within the parks, but using the internet or apps that depend on that (like mousewait) was really spotty.
-Ate at Paradise Grill for the first time and really enjoyed it. The area is lovely and quiet (until the cool Irish band started playing, just can't remember their name), and the food was good. BF and I both had the skewers since we love greek food and I found it such a nice change from typical park food. He had the steak, which is a little on the dry and chewy side, but I had the chicken and it was really yummy. We both had the Tzatziki which was okay (more lemony than most) but we both really liked the pita, rice, and veggie salad it comes with. We will be back there for sure!
And the best part of the day:
-We saw Aladdin for the first time and LOVED it. I had to convince BF that it would be worth it, and he even admitted it was really funny and good afterwards. The genie just kills it! I was really impressed by all the performers, but him and the guy playing Aladdin were stand out in my opinion. What a nice thing to do on a hot afternoon when ride lines are long!
All in all, I was afraid the park would be too crazy and it would ruin the trip, but it was a wonderful half day trip and will tide me over for at least a week, lol.

) after spending last week Tue/Wed/Thu at the parks and can attest it is much more crowded. LMAUA had almost no line last week. Now it is snaking up the sidewalk at over 30 minutes. Screamin is 35 minutes. Last week it was 15 at this time. TSMM is 45 and much longer than last week.
