8/17/2008 Double Dip 4-day Wonder

Coach Rick, you are too funny (I laughed right out loud at your comments in the middle of the office) and I guess this means we won't be seeing you in a tux on dress-up night!

Dress-up night? Well that's when I put clothes on. :cool1:

Raspberry Bubbles, I'll compliment any man in a tux! And he must be a real sweetheart if he's willing to do that for you (Coach Rick, don't say anything!!!)

:sad2:   :charac2:

:duck:

:lmao:

<Gavin buddy, pal...we haven't met yet, but if you can hear me...We gotta talk pirate:>

I told him what you said, he's just not sure why I'm laughing.... :rotfl: Even if I didn't tell him.... You'll know which one he is ~ the pirate: in the smart tux.....:rotfl2:

Do you know why they call it a "smart tux"?:confused3

"cause it's usually the smartest part of the person wearing it" :dance3: :scared1: :rolleyes1 :duck: :headache:

Raspberry bubbles, you're a lucky girl! So nice to meet people who are so good with each other.

Coach Rick, don't burst her bubble (no pun intended!)! And you got me laughing again at all your comments; people here in the office think I've gone off my rocker! And Raspberry Bubbles, don't let Coach Rick fool you! Here's a man who has actually kept this cruise a secret from his kids for months under considerable duress and great effort just so the y will have the awesome thrill of finding out at the last minute. That's evidence of a huge softie to me and a wonderful family man!

...your secret is out, Family Man! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Lynda, I am extremely lucky! :wizard: Thank you ~ Gavin and I have been together for 6 years now, nearly 7 :) We haven't been on holiday for the past 5 years so we're really excited about the Cruise and our Disney Wedding, we'll get to have a holiday, at last, just us :)

I can't believe I am the first to say it - May 17th is today - three months out!!!!!!

I have my flights booked, and had to rearrange a little because of airfare. We are now hitting the universal parks before thecruise, and heading home after.

Everyone else all ready?

Only three months to go! Wow! I bought some more flip flops today, just in case I don't have enough pairs..... ;)

Oh boy, Gavin wears a tux, you wear flip flops. :sad2:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Ok, ok, I'll leave the tux alone now...;)

Ready, READY you say...Heck in my mind, I'm already there...:cool1: I can already see all my shipmates in tuxedo's:laughing: ....ok, that didn't last long:confused3

Each passing day brings me one more closer to the stunned look on my kids faces as we board. Of course my oldest may still mutiny pirate: She has repeatedly said when we watch cruise stuff on the travel channel that she is still not comfortable with cruising. :scared1: We are confident once on board she will forget all about being miles out to sea, with no land in sight, and lots of sharks with icebergs all around, and oh yeah, in the Bermuda Triangle. :scared1: :lmao:

I'm starting to feel uneasy about the tuxedo now :sad2: I never realised people would make so much fun out of it. We were just trying to make a little magic for ourselves.

No, don't I'm sorry...I was just funning with ya... I am sure Gavin will look dashing and handsome, and it will make for a wonderful cruise picture for your grandchildren to one day marvel at. Heck, I will probably be looking out for ya's to get a picture too... You have one special day, one special cruise. Even when you cruise again (you will, trust me :) ) this one will be a very special one. Go for it all! I certainly would have!

On our honeymoon we were in Hawaii, went surfing, and I almost drown!:scared1: Got run over by a kayak...see I had memories of that special time too..almost made my lovely DW a widow after only 4 days!:scared1:

Now, be sure you have pirate outfits to wear for Pirate Night...That's my idea of dressing up. ;)

Geesh...now I feel bad ....

Wow, less then three months, that's great news! We're completely getting in the mood here! Are planning our DLRP-trips before the cruise (3 to go :)) and Steven is reading the Passporter. This afternoon we watched Enchanted, I really love that movie! A true new Disney Classic.

Coach Rick, you did make me laugh ~ that kayak story reminded me of the time my mother, stranded in a dinghy off the south coast of England with me as a small child, managed to hit some poor swimmer on the head with her oar three times in a row before he gave in and pushed her to shore..... :rotfl2:

I love Enchanted ~ I especially like the part where the Prince gets mowed down whilst singing "I've been dreaming of a....".

Now I'm a little confused ~ which night should I book Palo's for?

There are three restaurant's on the ship, not counting Palo. So on the rotation you repeat what every restaurant you eat at on day 2, you will also eat at on day 3, so my advice would be to do Palo either Tuesday night, or Wednesday night so you can experience all the restaurants. Keep in mind Tuesday night will be Pirate Night. It's a great deck party, you definitely don't want to miss, so you might want to do Palo on Monday night.

Last year we ate at Palo on the first night. Big mistake on my part. The ship was rocking away. Heading south tends to be a bit more rocky since you are fighting the "Gulf Stream", which is an underwater current that heads north, so the ship is generally fighting it all the way down. So I was just a tad bit nausous. Well I was more like GREEN:sick: . DW took Bonine and was fine...Not me, I don't need any of that stinkin stuff...Yeah right... Anyhow. Those are my suggestions.

Oh this is so fun....:thumbsup2

Okay, so I'll book Palo hopefully on Monday evening, and get some bonine ~ I have no idea what that is, but I see I may need some

Now, about this pirate costume ~ do people really dress up or do they just don an eyepatch and an earring? pirate:

Anyone up with me making ressies? We got a few things set up and now we're getting errors and wondering if their system has gone down.

Well, I spent about $200 on outfits for Rose and I. Some do, some don't, but I have my kids convinced that there is a pirate party at Vero Beach, which is our code for the cruise. So every time we talk about the ship, we substitute Vero Beach for the ship. :) Anyhow, all 5 of us will be dressed, and the kids still don't know that it will be on a cruise. Yep, lots of fun! Even if you don't dress, the party is a hoot!
