Okay so how about this---we have such a large group of DISers. We have already mentioned how large the CC party will be. Maybe we need to make an ALASKA 2009 banner. We know someone from DCL corporate will be on the cruise. What do you think?:lmao: :lmao:

Why buy / make a real banner when we can create one with photoshop or something? I'm sure we must have a few talented folks who could swing this for us!

I found this link when I was cleaning up the computer earlier this week. :)

POST 1001-1500 SUMMARY:

- There were extra theme dinners on the 2005 Repo along with a Disney Princess tea for all the kids and a Mickey Olympic type game.
- Embarkation is similar to how it is now done in PC with the boarding numbers.
- When someone posts "TAKE WHAT YOU CAN!" the proper response is "GIVE NOTHING BACK!"
- David Cassidy, Donny & Marie, Andy Gibb, Leif Garret remembered.
- Stacey walks her dog in her robe & slippers and her wrist really hurts.
- Captaincrash cannot answer with just a yes or a no.
- Sk8ingmom's DH will lead the DIS tour group in Cartagena.
- Everyone should rent Romancing The Stone before we cruise.
- For those that are looking into flights to LA for the cruise it is cheaper to fly into Orange County airport, Burbank, Ontario or Long Beach .
- Captaincrash had a large fire come within 150 yards of his home. The fire was stopped & his family was fine.
- How to save your place when reading the thread on page 95.
- Noone likes snakes or bugs...especially giant ones that fly!
- Discussion of college, employment & skills.
- How did you meet your mate?
- Checklist to find out if you are hooked on DIS #1497.

Yes... I cannot answer with a yes or no... Yes.

And the fire was NOT all that large... and the distance was conservetively 150 yards. Now... I'll have to get a surveyors' map from the county and figure it out....

So - judging from the aerial map - I never realized that the lay of the land was quite like this... and it seems we were further from the fire then I thought. I would estimate we were effectively 5 houses distant - and now I am beginning to think the fire was much LARGER and the threat was MUCH GREATER then previously thought.

Oh well....:rolleyes1

Great Job Lisa ! I am almost caught up but it was still nice to see how you put it all together.:goodvibes

Wait until everyone gets up and realizes that yesterdays tally count went from page 109 to page 138 or more. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

My eyes are burning from all the reading. I can't stop though.:surfweb:

My screen name.............::yes:: a story behind it and I have never told it before. Our first cruise was in April 2003 before I joined the disboards how I ever went on the cruise without knowing this board I still wonder sometimes.:rotfl2:

Anyway I knew the cruise was really special for us just at the time didn't know how special it would become. We loved Castaway !!:love: When I joined the boards in Oct.04 I was in the last stages of planning our wedding on Castaway for Nov. 04.

I didn't want to just have the name Castaway and since it was special for both of us I wanted to always sign in thinking of DH. DH travels a lot and doesn't read the disboards but is very friendly. So DH loves to FISH and enjoys going on the fishing trips to Castaway so I figured Cast off like casting the reel of of a fishing rod and also has part of castaway in it.

o.k guess you didn't expect such a longgggg story about a screen name but that's my story.

The story on how we met is even longer, I will save that for another time.:rotfl:

OK, in honor of Lisa's Ode to Shakespeare (who I am sure would be immensely proud of this thread) I have surmised what his assessment might be were he here to join us.

To cruise, or not to cruise: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the end to suffer
The scrimping and debt of spending a fortune,
To set sail upon a sea with Captain Jack,
No use opposing it then? To cruise: to pillage;
Once more; and by pillage to say we give not
and take all and the thousand natural shocks
of final tab at cruises end, 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd away. To cruise, to pillage;
To plunder: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;
For once you cruise with Captain Jack what dreams may come

Sweet Dreams Everyone!

WOW!!! :cheer2:

Calm down...

... you must have looked at the STANDARD Award table. Because the SAVER Award table still shows 48 state flights are 25,000 for coach, 45,000 for business and 60,000 for first. And for Hawaii it is 35,000, then 75,000 fo business and 90,000 for first. Europe and South America is 50/80/120K plus 10K for SA in 1st class. Japan, North and South Asia are 60/90/120. AND... AROUND the world is 200/300/400K.

The STANDARD Awards are unrestricted and can be booked on ANY seat that is open. The 48 state flights are 50,000 for coach, 90,000 for business and 120,000 for first. And for Hawaii it is 70,000, then 150,000 fo business and 190,000 for first. Europe and South America is 100/180/220K. Japan, North and South Asia are 100/200/240. AND... AROUND the world seats are NOT available as a STANDARD AWARD.

WHEW!! I was ticked at them!~!!!!
