I was disappointed you cancelled for this summer but I'm thrilled you will on board this one! Can you believe it will have been three years by then since we sailed together?

As long as I can snag a room we will be on this Repo. Cruise. We are celebrating our 20th anniversary on DCL Dec. 2007 so the Med Repo was just too close to Dec. to be able to do both. Aug. 2008 looks wide open!

Question: I have a TA booking my room. Is that a mistake? Should I get up at 4 a.m. (my time) and simultaneously call & book online?? We've cruised 2x before, but never on a super-duper-exclusive cruise like the repo.

Thanks Verandah Man for the Welcome! I was looking for the update because I didn't want to read through the 574 posts prior to my first one!

I am already even more excited about this next cruise now! I was thinking how nice it would be to make some friends before sailing since we will all be on the ship for 15 nights!
Despite my efforts, I can't seem to get any close family or friends to travel with us. They all seem to want to spent their money on things like furniture, a boat, college for their kids.... Ha! Not me! It's DCL for my $$!

My DD made 2 good friends online (on the DIS of course) before our recent 4 night Wonder, and had a great time having people to hang out with...
Now it's my turn!

Oh, man stop me... DH is working late and left me an open bottle of white wine and time to DIS!

That is what drove the price up so quickly last time. Sit tight if your TA has the info. They will be able to get multiple listings done when they get thru. Try to sleep.

Jeff, that sounds like me on several of our trips. My wife, daughter, mother, sister, niece and myself. Maybe that's why I walked into the ladies room at the Orlando Airport back on August 2004, it's from traveling with all those ladies, "That's my "new" story, and I'm sticking to it!!!"

Wow! I thought about seeing if there was a 8/17/08 repo thread started after 1/13/07 (when we are all actually booked!), but I am SHOCKED to see so much going on without me!
WE are DEFINITELY going to be on this repo cruise! So count us in on the horse race!!

Well... here we are again - scrolling down a little further and ... there it is again... talk of a HORSE RACE NOW? <chuckles> So what gives??? First it's suggested I pick up my pace - then I'm told there's nothing going on ... and now it's a HORSE RACE?!?!? <chuckles>

I'm wondering about this myself... should I try to book by myself or ask DU for a quote?

Now... I kno IBGRAVES counseled to let the TA handle it.... but this very question has been vexing me a bit. As I am wondering whether I should transfer my exisitng Reservation I rebooked while aboard recently to a TA to manage for this PC booking. I wonder whether I should get up at 4AM California time to try and manage it myself or risk a TZ handling 10 or 100 cabins who then may have to pick and choose hwo they will allocate their resources. I'm not accustomed to delegating much sometimes.

Now - I still want to eventually transfer my Reservation to a TA who will provide me with an additional cabin credit (like DU)... and I have another TA I've used in the past but am having difficulty relocating. And - I think since my other TA relocated she may not have the kind of flexability as she used to have.

So I guess I am getting a little anxiety over how I should handle the booking on this... do I let the TA do it or do I wing it on my own then transfer it after the 31st?

Any further thoughts folks beyond IBGRAVES remarks quoted below???

I would book it on your own. Do you have an open OB resie to transfer? After you book, switch it to the TA to get the credit there. You can always get a quote onboard & book it if it is lower, then send DU the info when you get back to see if they can keep your room etc. You know that dinner seating shouldn't be a problem since we will be linking as a group. I will be calling to transfer the onboard ressie myself.
