Am I correct in assuming we won't know the specific prices until 1/31? Why are they doing it that way? When they released all the info for the Med cruises, they listed prices for each category ahead of time. This way we were able to do the math and know what base price we would be paying before we booked. It doesn't seem like a very smart way to do things to me.

Bobby Sherman? I'm starting to feel VERY old....he was so "after" my teen years!

Woo Hoo, getting an early start on the thread today. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up.

I was considering taking the 31st off too. Just to watch the craziness since my trusted TA will be making the call for me (and I'm sure a bunch of others). But with the 3 weeks I'm taking off in August for the Med repo, I've got to use the rest of my days wisely.

Hmm, maybe I can work from home, have one computer doing 'work' and the other on the DIS. Course I could just DIS from work like I always do. :rotfl:

Sounds like a Pre cruise meet to me ...LOL were you born at Sunrise , Womens or UMC or Valley Hospital ???

pirate:

I was born at Sunrise! :sunny: Most of my immediate family live in Henderson now though.

I have another question for anyone....Verandahman??? I had also booked a dummy date when we got of our cruise Nov/ December, but are the benefits transferrable to this specialty cruise? It seemed to me in the past, that they did not do the benefits if it was a special cruise, and you didn't get the credit, the 10 percent, or neither....I can't remember.

OK, now that I am caught up, I can get some lunch, LOL!!!

Wasn't too bad walking around this morning, the streets were rather clear early, but the sidewalks and steps are another matter. No slips or falls, for that I'm very happy!!! :goodvibes

From what I have heard, the 10% discount and the OBC will be able to be transferred from the dummy booking to the Repo booking.

You know it's bad when things on that 70's show look way too familiar!

Like the same clothes you used to wear ???:lmao: :lmao:

I hate it to when MOM pulls out the old photo albums ...geeezzz the hair ..LOL Though I was young in the 70's my generation was more the 80's and the styles were just as bad ..

Hey, my boss is a Disney nut too. She brags to everyone about all the great Disney knowledge I share with her. As long as I get something done that day, she won't mind too much. She's even trying to figure out how she can fit in my suitcase for either cruise. :teeth: She's small, but she'd never make the weight limit.

It's funny, I already talk about the tons of friends I'll be cruising with. I just get rolled eyes or shakes of the head. Non DIS people just don't understand.

Neah they dont understand ....

Speaking of weight limits , we got new Duffles for the Med repo so we wouldnt have any problems with the weight allowance ...Looks like we will be able to use them again on this cruise ...

Here is an interesting thought…

Basically there is 2 weeks between the announcement and the sale of the cruises. This gives DCL time to gear up, but also to “keep their ear to the ground”. That wasn’t the case in ’05; the dates went on sale the same day.

Clearly price is dictated by demand; that is a given. Sooooo by tracking threads like this one DCL can get a better idea of what is popular and possibly set the initial price point by tracking our insanity.

Perhaps it is not a good idea to show them how interested we are in this cruise. Of course, at this point if I am correct we pretty much already “screwed the pooch”. :sad2:

Hi everyone!!!!!!Well just got back from south Florida. WOW!!!!!!You guys have been at it. My save was on page 35 and now we are on page 76.

So I see we have been second guessing the pricing again .....and again.........and again......... I see we now have our very own pirate zone. Cool! Hey and my position of numbers girl got pirated away from me while I was away:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Okay I gotta find a new job...............

Lisa----I thought you were joking when you said you were leaving for awhile. Where are you??????

Todd congrats on your snagging that pirate:right out from under their noses.

Have to admit, that quote would be a good one for the Tag Fairy. :rolleyes1

Just saw on the main boards that Inventory control hasn't even started looking at the requests yet.
Does that mean I can quit taking both phones to the bathroom with me???

Todd---
You had asked about boarding in LA--In my opinion it was awful. Not at all what we DIS cruisers were used to. Yes they did have a childrens area set up and it was actually much larger but the porters and check in people definitely did not have that Disney attitude. It was not well organized and when they actually began boarding at 1PM (of course Stacey wouldn't know this because she was in the Roy/Walt and got the concierge preboard) it was like MASS trampling. I felt like I was at a Rolling Stones concert.

Stacey were you the holdup?? Is that why we didn't board until 1pm???? Hey by that time I am usually sitting by the pool with a bahama mama in hand after a lunch at Topsiders. I remember it took forever for our suitcases too. I think we got ours at 6pm.

This'll probably get me in trouble...but I was looking around on the main boards....which I've been told I should never do, because something there always make me mad...but anyway...

Am I the only one who thinks there should be a rule about the minimum number of people in a suite?? Especially the Cat 1's and 2's.....I don't think 2 people should be allowed to book them, they should be saved for families or larger groups who need the space.

Sorry...off the soapbox.......

Compared to Princess and Norwegian, I didn't think the Port of Los Angeles was that bad at all. At least it was a REAL terminal. The other three that I've been in are more like big warehouses with metal folding chairs set up.

I think a couple of problems were that we were one of the first DCL cruises in and out of there, and the crew (luggage and such) just didn't quite have it together as well as they would at "home".....and....it was the first time they were doing all the handwashing, we stopped twice at those thingies before we even got on the ship.
And I don't think they had the embarkation photo areas set up as well as they do at PC....it seemed to not go quite as smoothly.

Maybe the 2nd time around, they'll have it together better.

Also.....it may have had something to do with where they had the xray placed......funny that it wasn't right upon entry to the terminal...that part took forever too.

BTW....we weren't there early enough to pre-board. We flew in that same day...but we did get to take "cuts". I felt like a heel...but was just following the CM.
