Good Grief! A girl steps out for a couple of Margaritas and comes back five pages later into the Pirate Zone. Now even in my slightly less than with it state, I can safely say that is a Zone I will dare to enter!

It ain't rum, but tequilla should help!

BTW for anyone who has Discovery Channel, the 2-hour Mythbusters Pirate epsiode is well worth your time. My whole fam loves Mythbusters (& piratespirate:), so I Tivo'd it earlier this week and we watched it tonight. It was great!

.... you're moving into a world of both shadowy swill and insubstantive internet ether ...
you've just crossed over into the Pirate ZonE!

I'm pretty sure between the tequila and all of these posts I am going to have some pretty wild dreams tonight. Do you think Captain Jack will make an appearance? Makes me want to get some shuteye asap. SHH! Don't tell the DH.

"You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension. A dimension of sound. A dimension of sight. A dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into...The Pirate Zone. Los Angeles, 2005. Amid the glitz and the glitter of a bustling, cruise port at the height of its golden age, The Disney Magic was a star in its own right; a beacon for the DIS elite. Now, something is about to happen that will change all that. The time is now on an evening very much like the one we have just witnessed. Tonight's story on The Pirate Zone is somewhat unique and calls for a different kind of introduction. This, as you may recognize, is a Disney Cruise ship still in operation, waiting for you. We invite you, if you dare, to step aboard because in tonight's episode, you are the star. And this ship travels directly to...The Pirate Zone."

"You are the passengers on a most uncommon cruise ship about to sail into your very own episode of...The Pirate Zone. One stormy night long ago, 57 DIS families stepped onto a gangway and into a dream. That gangway is opening once again, and this time it's opening for you. You are about to discover what lies beyond the fifth dimension...beyond the deepest, darkest corner of the imagination...in the Disney Magic.”

“A friendly word of warning; something you won't find in any guidebook. The next time you check into a cruise ship on the dark side of Los Angeles, make sure you know just what kind of vacancy you're filling. Or you may find yourself a permanent resident of...The Pirate Zone”

I feel so inadequate among all this creativity!

Say...

... I just saw this - and sk8ingmom, that is really a nice bit of creative prose... anyone else agree? And if not ... then line up cuz we're gonna start floggin' souls til the moral imiproves 'round the ship here!!!:scared1:

I'm still bewildered as I struggle to catch up here....

Why bother? Just bring them over to show off your posting count here and - as for the little tornado behind you - just show DD and DS the overall posting count and how it's jumped from 610 last nite (Friday) at 12 midnite! NOW.... there is a mess to rival the imagination!

Now... my thoughts are drifting towards guessing how much higher the running total of postings will increase the estimate on how many postings this thread will finish will come August 17th!

I'll guess the number will exceed 70,000. Anyone wanna guess otherwise?

Who would have figured... eh?

I bet we break DIS history and break the 100k mark .....thats my prediction ..and I know it can be done ...

Mathamatician Alert!!!

math-rotation.gif

So lets' see... if we were to estimate what we needed for daily posting production to achieve 100,000 posts by embarkation day... lets keep it simple. First...

windermerejudy said:
Our thread had been open 4 days -- 300 posts

At our current average of 75 posts a day
Approximately 576 days until we repossess
That would create us 43,200 posts.

comp10.gif

So - if our thread has been up for 7 days and 8 hours...
and produced 886 postings...
then this is a daily average of 120.8 posts ...
and in the 573 days remaining I can estimate our current pace will accumulate 69,580 postings.
EXACTLY what I predicted earlier.

However... in order to achieve 100,000 postings by embarkation -
then I predict that we have to average 173.62 postings daily.
That excludes making up for the short fall of 370 posts in the last 7 days!

Can we really maintain a posting pace that achieves 100,000 or more postings by embarkation?

It is good to have goals :thumbsup2
We just seem more productive that way.

Do you have any tips on getting a reservation at Club 33?:cloud9:

I've been to club 33...

... I had a cousin who was working at the park at the time in marketing and he got me in. And an old friend used to recently work AT the park - but just relocated to WDC to join the US patent office. He's a patent attorney who sort of short circuited in private practice - and took a huge step back to regain his health. Then we took a nice low stress job at DL... and now that he's better he rejoined the legal world at the US patent office. I'll email him for a friendly referral to see if we can arrange anything... or find out what the scoop is on how they run club 33 now-a days.

Now wait a minute... my cousin just got a private tour of the closed lots for the Disney animation studios - and they have a friend on the inside who arranged it. Plus I have folks I meet at our local playground who work as imagineers for Disney. Maybe I can ask them if I run into them again at the local park.

Either way - I'll have to "develope" an answer for you....

Give me a few weeks to get a serious and reliable answer - I'll bookmark this or PM you a memo so I can find this later. No guarantees on a reply... as I offerred my services to LBG - and my "bell" has not technically been rung yet. <chuckles>:goodvibes

Q: Do you guys think I'm dreaming if I am wishing for a cat 9 for 1 adult, a 15 year old and a 12 year old for this cruise for under $6,000? I'm starting to get that sick feeling you get right before you realize your dream is about to blow up into a million pieces

Can you all send me some pixie dust that I make it onto The Price is Right next week?? If I could just win Plinko.........or $11,000 on the showcase wheel.........

Its not about your personal posts that you have got , but the number is in reference to the number of posts on the thread ..

Example Post number 1000 would be a Pirate ..and 2000 etc

when we get 10,000 thats a huge Pirate ..if you get post 10,000 and or 20,000 etc ...you will belong to the exclusive 10 k club ..LOL

Hope that explains it better

pirate:

Oh... I get it. Snapping the 1000th or 10,000th posting to the thread earns some notariety. I'm all into that kind of insanity.

Thanks for the clearification. And to think I was fuzzy on that one.... :surfweb:

Well...

... earlier today (200+ postings back) I took someone elses' posting on Med repositioning rates to try and interpolate and estimate what our fares might look like. Below is a quote of my earlier posting with fare estimates:

CaptainCrash said:
From the Med Repo

Category Rates:
1 $5,999 - $6,699
2 $5,699 - $6,399
3 $5,199 - $5,699
4 $4,099 - $5,099
5 $3,799 - $4,699
6 $3,799 - $4,599
7 $3,699 - $4,499
8 $2,999 - $3,999
9 $2,699 - $3,899
10 $2,299 - $3,599
11 $1,999 - $3,499
12 $1,999 - $3,399

Third, Fourth and Fifth Guests Age Requirements: Rates:
Under Age 3 $309
Ages 3-12 $1,099 - $2,799
All other $1,199 - $2,799

This is just for an idea.

So...

If we know a catagory 11 is gonna be = $1699...
And a transatlantic CAT 10 is 15% more then I would estimate a PC CAT 10 will start at $1999 ~ $2099
And a transatlantic 9 window is 35% more than an 11 - then I estimate the PC CAT 9 will start at $2299
A transatlantic veranda CAT 7 - it is 80% more then an 11, so I estimate the PC CAT 7 will start at $2999 ~ $3099
A transatlantic catagory 4 is slightly more then double the price of an 11 - so I'd guess the PC CAT 4 will be $3,499

And as for the 3rd and 4th PAX, the PC cat 11 is 85% of the Transatlantic rate - so I would estimate the price range on 3rd and 4th PAX at age range 3-12 will be $899 ~ 2399
And 3rd and 4th PAX above age 12 under the 85% assumption would range from $999 ~ $2399.

Of course... these are simple interpretations (educated guesses) which still exclude port and taxes.

So, applying my estimates for catagory 9 plus a simple guess on the 3rd PAX rate for a 12 Y.O. I would guess that you're looking at $2300 + 2300 + an uneducated GUESS at the 3rd 12 year old PAX at $1700 ... which equals = $6,300 ... plus port and taxes.

Now if my estimates are reasonable ... and IF you can get through in ... say .... the first 90 minutes cabins are on sale... then you could drop your cabin catagory to a 10... and that should save you about $700... and with port and taxes you are not that far off of $6000 plus a few hundred?

That does NOT seem all that bad.... does it?

However... there are nothing but "IF this" and "IF that" in my suggestions here. Just you remember ... "I" am in a similar "boat" as you. All I can say is I hope the best for all the DIS folks including myself in getting good fares on the 31st!

I feel Honored that I have a thread named after me , I am further honored in the fact we may actually be Lisa's table mates ..I feel obligated now to try to stay on top of things on this cruise thread ...

Plus I am also honored by having done the cruise logo as well ...

me head is swelling now :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

pirate:

You know what...

.... that head swelling may be due to some other reason... maybe you 'ought to go see a doctor ... neurologist ... or even better a psychologist! <chuckles>

Sorry - too LATE...

.. I just SPAMMED everyone on my directory with the e-vite. Not that we'll get more then 10 or 30 cabins worth to join. <chuckles>

That's fine as long as they call in after we do. ;)

I'll send another spam updating them to call on the 1st....

I couldn't take it any more and told my dd8 what I was planning. LOL! :rotfl: I had to tell someone and if I told one of my friends they would think I'm crazy, since we haven't sailed our 7 day western yet! Well, she started screaming and said cool! I told her she could get to make some friends on the DIS before we go and she thought that would be neat.

I showed her some of the pictures ya'll have posted. Lisa, she said your son looked "Scrumptious!" Yes, she has a very good vocabulary! She is a bit boy crazy, but I told her she can't date until she is 35! :rotfl:

So let me introduce myself and my dd. I'm Tina a single mom and Kaitlin who will be 10 in August 2008. Got my fingers crossed for a Cat 7 or 9.

I am on my good behavior, right now, but I don't know how long I can contain my warped personality!

I can see that, that awful question will never be uttered here, "Why is the Rum always gone?"

Holey smokes, I've got 4 pages of reading to get caught up this morning, I better get busy and see what happened overnight. ;)
