On the news right now they are talking about how Stephen Grant cut up his wife at his machine shop. How horrible.

I know it's gory to think about, but I did wonder that....It's all just horrid.

The recipe:

1 lb. kale or other dark cabbage
3 lbs. potatoes (Yukon Golds are best)
1 onion, chopped
1 stick butter
4 oz cream
Pinch of dill
Pinch of nutmeg or mace
Salt and white pepper to taste

I have a go-back to the brussel sprouts discussion...found the recipe that I really like. Tried it out this past Thanksgiving and everyone liked them (well, those who aren't acverse to brussel sprouts)

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

"This recipe is from my mother. It may sound strange, but these are really good and very easy to make. The Brussels sprouts should be brown with a bit of black on the outside when done. Any leftovers can be reheated or even just eaten cold from the fridge. I don't know how, but they taste sweet and salty at the same time!

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 pounds Brussels sprouts, ends trimmed and yellow leaves removed
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper​

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C).

2. Place trimmed Brussels sprouts, olive oil, kosher salt, and pepper in a large resealable plastic bag. Seal tightly, and shake to coat. Pour onto a baking sheet, and place on center oven rack.

3. Roast in the preheated oven for 30 to 45 minutes, shaking pan every 5 to 7 minutes for even browning. Reduce heat when necessary to prevent burning. Brussels sprouts should be darkest brown, almost black, when done. Adjust seasoning with kosher salt, if necessary. Serve immediately."​

My concern about leaving the ship has nothing to do with safety, it has to do with my job... I may not be able to go This, of course, won't stop DW from getting off because she plans on SHOPPING and doesn't care if I'm able to go or not! Actually, she has a friend who works in the gem mines near Bogota!





With DW being a jewelry designer I shudder to think what will happen if she's aroung you people! Actually, I'm afraid for you! She'll be happy to point out what's good and what's crap... But I'm still looking for that smiley of money flying out of a wallet!

Okay...now someone has something to use against me for blackmail. DO NOT tell my DH that I might be able to have a professional help me buy jewelry! Awesome! Not that I need the help...I'm one of those who tends to zero in automatically on the most expensive item in the case, without even realizing it.

I'm only 37yrs old and was not prepared for something like this at this stage of my life. I've never been pretty- I know that. But it's like God had to say oh you think you're ugly now, you haven't seen nothing yet... it can always get worse little missy.

Many thanks to everyone who sent their thoughts for DH lasik today. It went well. He thinks he is seeing a little better than before (remember this was just a fine tuning) - but will know better once the swelling goes down. He really hates having to wear those eye shields to bed though. So, he takes them off when he's up and wears his cool dude wrap around sun glasses instead.

I got the same ad today and I was really excited till I read your post, I can't believe their playing games. I'm going to stop in there tomorrow and get the straight facts. We really need to upgrade anyway, we're paying $101 a month now whats a few more $$. Wasn't TV free at one time. Like water which is a Billion and a half business now. I use to make fun of people that paid money for something that was free. My wife will only drink bottled water, I bet they take it right out of the spigot somewhere. Coffe was great this AM Our fourth pot saved 21.50 so far. 373 -21.50 = 351.50

I am calling Comcast tomorrow to complain about false advertising. Can't hurt. I guess they can just say I do have digital cable because I have a digital box, and I do have On Demand. Just watched My Cousin Vinny tonight. I just think it stinks that it leads you to believe you would recieve the rest of it too. But if you look at their line up now, there are avtually two seperate tiers for Digital cable now also! I swear they will charge you a usage fee next.

Caroline where in Gloucester County are you? We're in Paulsboro, DD is in Swedesboro and DS is in Willamstown.

I'm not in Gloucester County, Andy is. I am in Cape May County. The Mega-Million ticket was bought about 20 minutes from me. They had some poor guy on the news tonight who lost his 10 tickets that he bought at the winning store. He is really worried it may have been him because no-one has claimed it yet.

None for DW shes on nutirsystem and will probably kill me for saying it but I'm so proud of her she lost 23 lbs since Jan. 2nd
