1) What would you take - lump sum or annual payments?
LUMP SUM - they (well, NY Lottery anyway) actually went to lump sum option because someone had gone to court to set the precedent that they could get the annuity..I think they got tired of the hassle and expense of people doing so to get access to their money - you can invest it better than they can.

2) What would be the FIRST application for your 1st dollar of proceeds?
maybe a nice celebratory dinner out - the first few dollars, not just one of course

3) Where would go on your first trip with the prize?
Disney something..probably a cruise .with a nice stay at WDW...

4) Would you continue working or maintain the MAJORITY of your routine?
DH would keep working because he loves what he does and is very happy...no change for me 'cause I am already at home

5) What charity or non-profit would be the 1st beneficiary of your windfall?
Habitat....

6) Would you do anything special with the proceeds in the near future?
not sure, but would keep an ear open for desreving projects!!!

7) What would be the most crazy thing you might do which otherwise would be far fetched to consider now?
no idea - would have to concentrate on taking care of extended family first.... I think about as crazy as I would get is splurge on vacations where I don't dare now....

Wow thats a pretty diverse selection of music... You must be a real music lover. My DH is like that too - from headbangers ball to 50 cent - LOL

no ipod here... I dont listen to much music outside the car and then its XM Channel 83 - CHROME - Yup thats right - Im a back in the day dance party kind of girl

Okay ...Lets play the IPOD game ....everyone get your IPOD and put it on Shuffle and list the first ten songs that come up ....this will give us an idea of what music you enjoy

Well ... have I mentioned before I tend to be frugal?? I dont' have an IPOD - I do have an MP3 player but it is another brand. I recently replaced it (cracked a screen on my old one) and actually don't have ANY music on it at the moment. I have really important stuff - podcasts! There are only a few on there right now:

The DIS Unplugged (of course!)
Inside The Magic
The WDW Radio Show (Lou Mongelos new show now MouseTunes is gone)

That's it - 3GB of space and I have 3 podcasts using up about 150MB

Maybe I'll load some tunes during lunch today - must be about time for that since I'm starving! Sadly their won't be any :cake: - I'm trying to lose weight for the TOAL....

Hi -
Just checking in - Thank you all for the well wishes - I survived my (3hr) surgery and I'm doing okay thanks to Vicodin!

This was the 3rd attempt at the graft - to make a long story short I went to a specialist at UCLA who actually developed a number of these techniques - he also lectures and teach worldwide. So, I arrive at 6:40am and open the door and there is a room full of Japanese dentists - my surgery is part of his teaching course!!! So I blurt out here I am your guinea pig. I guess it was just as well I was sedated during the procedure or my warped sense of humor might have puzzled the Japanese.

Shelly- I hope all is well with you & you DH gets better.
pixiedust: and :grouphug: to everyone sick/not feeling well.

I spent yesterday off & on trying to catch up - I don't know the full story with this other thread - but Lisa you are wonderful. Period.
And, I am so enjoying everyone here - such fun and comraderie - what a Great Cruise this will be.

Happy Wednesday Everyone! Chris :goodvibes

I appreciate everyone's well wishes, thoughts and prayers. I apologize for not being able to respond to all the posts individually or multi-quote but I just don't have it in me right now. To say I'm a bit depressed would be an understatement. I don't even really want to talk about it -atleast not yet. but it appears that either something happened like a stroke or something or I have Bell's palsy or something and dealing with the non-functioning part of my face & mouth right now is well... not fun. I'm not even sure if I should post that because now if it doesn't go away I'm going to think everyone is looking at me on the cruise.
:( I'm only 37yrs old and was not prepared for something like this at this stage of my life. I've never been pretty- I know that. But it's like God had to say oh you think you're ugly now, you haven't seen nothing yet... it can always get worse little missy.

:(
Atleast I know my tears work in both eyes.

The thought did cross my mind. And I invite anyone who feels I've spouted too much to just say so and I'll edit it down - or edit it out to a zero.

I just thought I'd post how I felt. That's all. FOrgive me for just being impulsive.:confused3
I wasn't referring to your post. I didn't even think about your post when I wrote that. I wasn't thinking of anyone's specifically.

Well, I had 3 of the 6 numbers on my ticket from the fortune cookie I got the other night. :upsidedow

Gotta get a move on it here, see y'all later.............:wave2:
I should have just got a ticket in the numbers you said you got in the fortune cookie, I'd be what $7 richer? LOL

Oh and thank you for the welcomes! And BIBOBOO (I was born lazy!) that's a great idea, and thanks for suggesting it.
are you talking to me? If so, LOL@BIBOBOO

BIP, you were on the Waltons????
No, but I want to be on Stacey's list to say good night to. LOL

OK, guys....this is getting embarrasing. This group isn't the way it is because of me. It is because of everyone here. :)

Sadly their won't be any :cake: - I'm trying to lose weight for the TOAL....

You know, as much as I like :cake: , I have to say that my vice is ICE CREAM!!! Ben & Jerry's, Cold Stone, Marble Slab, Edy's, Breyer's...you name it!!!! I LOVE it!! Even when it's 30 below outside, it's always a good time for ice cream...

I wish there was an ice cream smiley...*SIGH*

Awwww, Shelly. :sad1: Here's a great big :grouphug: just for you. I know it's not much, but just know you're in my prayers.

I can retire and receive my full pension in three years and three months, we already have a place in Florida, about one hour north of WDW!!!!! ;)

Wishing you all the best until your retirement can begin!!! ;)

OK folks, lunchtime is coming to an end, I've got to get back out in the elements and make a living for my family.

I am not even jealous.:thumbsup2 With your knee problems, I wish it could be sooner for you.:wizard: We complain about weather but we are not out in it like you. We have too many mediacl problems so we have to wait until we can get medicare.

What area of Florida???? We hope to be in the middle(of course our goal is to live near the Mouse). One hour from WDW any direction would be great. :woohoo: Do you have any suggestions of areas to look at.:confused3

WOW!! Guess I had better go buy some more cards for my camera. Took 1500 photos in Alaska last summer, can't imagine how many I will take on this trip. Maybe I need a new portable harddrive too.

I saw some awesome deals on the Lexar Professional compactflash cards but, of course, dopey me didn't pay attention to the rebate deadline and they expired :headache: But now the deals are on Kingston Professional/Ultimate cards. I thought about getting DW an 8Gb card but I don't *think* she'll be taking that many photos... :confused3
