I appreciate everyone's well wishes, thoughts and prayers. I apologize for not being able to respond to all the posts individually or multi-quote but I just don't have it in me right now. To say I'm a bit depressed would be an understatement. I don't even really want to talk about it -atleast not yet. but it appears that either something happened like a stroke or something or I have Bell's palsy or something and dealing with the non-functioning part of my face & mouth right now is well... not fun. I'm not even sure if I should post that because now if it doesn't go away I'm going to think everyone is looking at me on the cruise.
:( I'm only 37yrs old and was not prepared for something like this at this stage of my life. I've never been pretty- I know that. But it's like God had to say oh you think you're ugly now, you haven't seen nothing yet... it can always get worse little missy.

Shelley -- don't get too upset at this stage . . . Bell's palsy is not that uncommon and easily treated with a dose of corticosteroids (large dose the first day, then decreasing from that --side effects not that bad). . . you would be better within days, much less before the cruise! And it should be relatively easy to figure out if it is Bell's or a mini-stroke (unlikely in your demographic) . . . even if it is a mini-stroke you will come back from this . . . don't worry (I know, easier said than done) and keep us posted.

Much love your way --

I'm off to lunch...I think it'll be Panda

today to counteract the horrid Mexican food from yesterday

And while I'm out I'll buy a Powerball ticket....not as exciting as you Megamillions folks:
$ 120 Million ($ 57.6 Million Cash Value)

Atleast I know my tears work in both eyes.

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: to you right now...

My brother is going through something similar. He's 37 too. For the past 6 or so months he's been having bouts with numbness. At first, they thought it was blockage to his heart because the "episodes" of numbness would come and go. Then they thought he was having mini strokes, then they started looking a Bell's Palsy. They're trying him on different meds to see if they can narrow it down. But he's had EKG's, head CT's, MRI's of the brain, etc, etc, and they still don't know for sure what's going on.
But what we do know is that the process is scary for us, and even more so for him.
I also know that if it's Bell's Palsy, I've heard that there are some great meds out there, so hang in there. And if you can't get a diagnosis that you're willing to settle on, seek a second opinion.
We're here for you if you just need to vent. :grouphug: :grouphug:

Hi -
Just checking in - Thank you all for the well wishes - I survived my (3hr) surgery and I'm doing okay thanks to Vicodin!

This was the 3rd attempt at the graft - to make a long story short I went to a specialist at UCLA who actually developed a number of these techniques - he also lectures and teach worldwide. So, I arrive at 6:40am and open the door and there is a room full of Japanese dentists - my surgery is part of his teaching course!!! So I blurt out here I am your guinea pig. I guess it was just as well I was sedated during the procedure or my warped sense of humor might have puzzled the Japanese.
Happy Wednesday Everyone! Chris :goodvibes

I am glad everthing went well!! :cheer2: :grouphug:

Bip, sometimes it is better to share and let out emotions. We thought my DH had a stroke at 32. It turned out to be Bell's Palsy. It does take a while for it to go away just be patient.:flower3: I believe they put him on a steroid treatment. That has been 27 years ago and he never got it back. At that time there was no explanation of why it happened.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I'm glad someone gets my sick humor...
I got it.
I just wanted to be added to the list, of saying goodnight to the Waltons. Is that so bad? :rotfl:

Thanks to everyone that responded. I'm just not dealing with it well. It's affected my tongue also and now water or even my saliva tastes salty all the time. Nothing tastes like it should. I'm starving right now but can't bring myself to eat. I'm having trouble eating too because one side of my mouth doesn't work. :(
It's beyond annoying. I tried to cheer myself up by baking a cake last night- I can't even taste CHOCOLATE! It tastes salty! That's almost the lowest blow of all......

Just checking in to say Hi! :wave2:

I was lying on the couch all day yesterday with some kind of stomach virus so I never did log on. While I was lying there, I kept thinking about the pages & pages of posts passing me by. I tried to read the last 10 pages or so to get an idea of what's going on, but it's futile (or useless :confused3 ).

I know what you mean...scary that I think about all the posts I am getting behind on when I am doing other things... in real life! :lmao:

Still 14 pages behind...
I think I'm channeling Caroline right now...

:rolleyes1 Over 100 pages behind now.

I got it.

I think the tag fairy may need to share her stash of chocolate with you when you are feeling better.:dance3:

That makes perfect sense...they do have to match:confused3

Yes they do!!

I like my new washer and dryer, but I think my old dryer did better. Some things are coming out wrinkled, even though I am taking them out right away. This may be due to the washer making things more wrinkled.:confused3 I haven't stopped washing and drying yet, but nothing has been put away. Folded, but not put away. I've washed about 6 blankets so far too. Guess I just have to get used to the new stuff. I didn't like the price of the HE detergent at first. $22!! But it seems like it will be cheaper in the long run because you hardly use any of it per load.
