Oh Monica what a pickle . Of course we'd say choose the TOAL, choose the TOAL, but that wouldn't be fair of us. (But choose the TOAL). Could they possibly be convinced to postpone it by one little weekend. One eentsy weentsy weekend?

Putting my thinking cap on here - what about moving the reunion up to Memorial Day Weekend? I'm sure most would understand that the TOAL is probably just that - once in a lifetime - and would be willing to accomodate it.

Oh, Monica....what a tough decision.

Since your part of the family is doing the planning, can they announce a date change NOW, so you can possibly do both? Maybe send everyone a "save this date for 2008" postcard announcing the alternate date so everyone has time to plan accordingly? I know it's a slight change in tradition, but it's the only thought I had to help you have your cake & eat it too.

Just put it off a day or so ....youll be back in time ...LOL

Thanks for the support everyone. Unfortunately after 22 years of the same weekend and the same campground, changing it just really isn't an option. IF this cruise were to end on Sat, I'd have no problem, but since we don't dock at PC until Monday, I'm screwed.

Maybe someone will get married in '08 and I'll see everyone then. As much as I've put into this cruise already, I'm pretty sure TOAL will win out.

Besides, I'll have to keep an eye on the Captain and make sure Tia's mojo still works.

Went and saw my Mom's DH today. He is doing much better. they got him off the vent this evening.

Sad reality hit today

We have them ever other year over the Labor Day weekend....can you see where this is going? Well, the last reunion was 2006, so guess when the next one is?

Monica - don't think about it any more tonight or for a while. Like you said, you have time. No need to stress yourself over it. My thought would be as the rest suggested. Talk it out with everyone and see if they'll change it or at least postpone it to the following weekend.

Well you have held out for quite a while now...............just don't be too bad or it's back to the Wench's Dawg House with ya!

Both DW and I do not drink. Also we both have Canon Rebels to record all of the action for those who forget.

So when people use DW now . . . is that going to mean Dear/Disney Wife or Designated Walker???

If she wont be starting school until September, I wouldn't even register her until after this cruise. She wont miss any days that way.

That wouldn't work so well in our district..... The last kids in get last pick of classes. So a child would get stuck in whatever class had a space not necessarily the best one...

This happened to us when we changed schools in late Sept when dd was in
4th grade.

For HS it'd be a nightmare cause all the good electives would be taken already.

What happened last trip is that with a note they excused 5 school days and the other 2 we took went in as unexcused. (5 or more unexcused in a quarter gets the student automatically failed for that quarter)

mine will be starting senior year and spohmore year.. I can't bring myself to let them miss 4 days of school plus all the pre school tuff like band and crosscountry and football.. so they won;t be going.. oh well they will have to have a TOAL with their own families later in life..

Mine will be starting Freshman year and Senior year. And that's exactly what I said. Maybe when they're MY age, they can go!

Gee, it took me all morning to ketchup! Now I'm on my way to do errands and cook ahead for next week.

Tomorrow I'm having oral surgery - (bone graft ) - 2 1/2 - 3hr. procedure. I had it done already on the right upper - now its the left upper. I might miss a few days here - last time it took quite awhile for the swellng to go down & the pain to subside.

You know, after I posted this, I thought about it and it seems that the rules vary by city etc. Because when I was in Madison in the 90's, we could go to a different area about 30 minutes away to buy beer after 9:00. So, who knows...but in our area, 9-9 is pretty standard no matter what day of the week!

Our hours are 6am-4am Mon-Sat
1pm-4am on Sundays
The only exception to this is Derby weekend Beer opens at 6am on Friday closes at 6am on Sunday and then reopens again at noon-4am.
