Sorry, I always forget the DIS clock is weird so it was later than I realized. But as I was typing my repsonse, it was just 9pm here. (came back to edit, the DIS clock is even farther off than I thought...used to be about 6 min behind, now it appears to be close to 20 min behind)

The DIS clock seems to be falling behind further and further every day.

Has anyone seen the comic musical "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee"?? We got nearly free tickets for the show tomorrow night. . . even DH is going to go! I'd love to hear what you thought . . .

I've heard of it but haven't seen it. Have a great time.

But don't you feel like you smell like pennies afterwards?
All I can say is ewww that smell.:lmao:

Ok...why is it that my DW can't say "No".....well...except to me... :rotfl: This extremely poor family in our town is having major issues and the mother seems to rely very much on my DW. This family consists of a Grandmother, Mother, Father (we thought, but DW thinks the girls called him "uncle"), and two girls ages 5 and 7 all living in a mobile home. The Father (or Uncle) is disabled and home stricken. The mother and grandmother work at McDonald's. I guess that's all they have of a family, we only know them because our DD played on their older daughter's softball team, but their mother calls my DW for all issues.

Anyway, the mother (probably in her mid-30s) just had some type of artery surgery a few weeks ago that caused her to have two cardiac arrests because the artery's collapsed while in the hospital (I'm not a doctor, and heard the medical information 3rd hand, so not sure to accuracy). At that time, my DW had their two girls stay with our DDs for what was suppose to be 1 night for the surgery, but was stretched to 4 nights (school nights no less) due to the complications since the father (or uncle) couldn't watch them and the grandmother was assisting mother at hospital. Well...the mother went back into the emergency room of our small county hospital tonite and they called us to pick the girls up before the ambulance transported the mother to a real hospital. At least my DW told them it had to be just tonite and called their church pastor to try to gather some additional helpers.

I know they are extremely grateful and comforted that their girls can play with our DDs and take their mind off their mother in the hospital, because she does have serious health concerns. But it is concerning that they have no one close to them that can help them and that they call my DW because they know her from our DD's softball team. The mother's health sounds life threatening, so very concerning what options the children and grandmother may have if something were to happen. I know helping them is the right thing to do, but with DW and I both working fulltime jobs (we work opposite schedules so DDs always have a family member available), and with DW working on a PhD, the stress level's already high.

The good news.....we have Rum.

I can't imagine what those kids are going through with there Mom in the hospital. It must be very scary for them. I will say prayers for the family.:wizard: It's people like you who make the world a little bit brighter. People now a days just seem like they just don't want to get involved. I know it's also putting alot of stress on your family............hang in there.:wizard: You are impacting these kids lives more then you know. In such a positive way.:goodvibes

They're doing it at Disneyland, also.

The Magical Fastpass, or whatever they call it, is still only good for the rides that use Fastpass....but you can still get your own Fastpass and then ride twice.
And each pass is only good once on each ride....it's not unlimited.
I think if they really wanted to make it special, it should be unlimited. But then, they wouldn't be able to give as many of them out, either. So at least this way, they're making more people happy.

I posted a picture of DS holding his yesterday. You had to have the same number on the tab as what was on your pass. There were things that DD & I didn't want to ride so we just traded our passes with DH & DS & they were able to go on the rides twice like that. :thumbsup2

This one is in honor of our "recent" (what, only 60 pages back?? :rotfl: ) talks about flying...

Parents meeting at school tonight. Didn't get to read hardly anything today - 40 pages back. I'm doomed.... :sad2:

:lmao: 534 more to go!

Awww...thanks. I've been feeling under the weather this week, so I've been slower to post. It's all I can do to stay ketched up. :)

Sorry you haven't been feeling weel Enna. Hope your feeling better soon.

Just a quick note before I head off to "Feed the Darlins". Hope everyone's had a great week and has an even better weekend. My Pink Tink :moped: is now on consignment at the scooter shop...$2200.00 if anyone's interested ;) This will be our 1st weekend as "business owners", wish us luck pixiedust:

Good luck on both!

So AI is now over everywhere.......

I am a survivor and AI addict and it is killing me that they compete......
Survivor was good nice little twist on the tribal council thing......

So did I read correctly that Alaina was voted off AI? Was she the one that was such a smart add to Simon about our girl Jennifer Hudson.......I hope that was the one.....

Same here Judy. I do alot of flipping back and forth. I liked the twist but think the wrong team got it. I like routing for the underdog. Boy that team is in bad shape.:sad2:

You know, you have to make time for yourself too or you will burn out and be no good to anyone in your family . . .treat something you enjoy like scrapbooking as something you "have" to do every now and then for your mental health. Life can't be all housework and kid and animal care!

I keep telling myself that....:rolleyes1

Beside, they are so darn cute when they are up on their hind legs in the middle of a field.

Ya think? :confused3

Yes, we're all fine. No damage reported on the tv reports yet.

These little ones are actually fun....guess it's the adrenalin (sp?) junkie in me. You just shake around a little bit then it's over. They actually make me sick to my stomach if I'm at work when it hits. Our building is on rollers that take the shock of the quake, which makes the building sway for a few seconds longer than the actual quake. I get motion sick.

But I'll take an earthquake any day over a tornado or huricane.

Monica I would take a huge snowstorm over any of those 3. I don't like your idea of fun.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Where's the rest of the groundhog post?

WLE?
T-s***** - green or ?

It seemed like others did not appreciate the humor of the daily groundhog post as much as I did, so I stopped posting it.

I need some scrapbooking motivation! Any ideas on how to get caught up when you have never really started? What is a good way to start?

Thanks,

Poohmom :hippie:

The only real advice I have is once you get going it's hard to stop.:rotfl2: I just bought some things yesterday to put in scrapbook and now I can't wait to get started this weekend on my cruise book. Table is being cleared and everything is out.:goodvibes
