My little Happy Pill for flying is called Valium and it's my Superty Cool Friend! :thumbsup2

Seriously?!?!

Does flying bother you? DMom loves to fly...but hates takeoff, landing and turbulance! :lmao: I thought we were going to have to sedate her once  whereas I'm more apt to fall asleep before wheels-up! Too much time spent in flight testing

Just had to share this.... I barely make the cut on this but hey, I remember so MUCH of it!!

People over 30 should be dead!

According to today's regulators and bureaucrats, those of us who were kids in the 40's, 50's, 60's, or even maybe the early 70's probably shouldn't have survived.

Our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paint.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets, and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets. (Not to mention the risks we took hitchhiking.)

As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags.

Riding in the back of a pickup truck on a warm day was always a special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle. Horrors!

We ate cupcakes, bread and butter, and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but we were never overweight because we were always outside playing. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle, and no one actually died from this.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then rode down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the street lights came on. No one was able to reach us all day. No cell phones. Unthinkable!

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo 64, X-Boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, video tape movies, surround sound, personal cell phones, personal computers, or Internet chat rooms. We had friends! We went outside and found them. We played dodge ball, and sometimes, the ball would really hurt.

We fell out of trees, got cut and broke bones and teeth, and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. They were accidents. No one was to blame but us. Remember accidents?

We had fights and punched each other and got black and blue and learned to get over it.

We made up games with sticks and tennis balls and ate worms, and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes, nor did the worms live inside us forever.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's home and knocked on the door, or rang the bell or just walked in and talked to them.

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment.

Some students weren't as smart as others, so they failed a grade and were held back to repeat the same grade. Horrors! Tests were not adjusted for any reason.

Our actions were our own. Consequences were expected.

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke a law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law. Imagine that!

This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers and problem solvers and inventors, ever. The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all. And you're one of them!

Congratulations!

People under 30 are WIMPS!

This is so true! I remember when my friend had mono - of course, we always shared soda so I thought for sure I was going to get it and was devastated when I didn't. I only found out a few months ago that I had mono when I was 5, hence the reason why I didn't get it when I was 12.

Please excuse my ignorant redneck butt....but is water polo played with horses? If yes, wherever does your DS play that?

Oh no! My DS would probably rather have me sing in public at his school than mount a horse!! Water polo is played in a swimming pool. It's kind of like soccer in the water. You are trying to throw a ball in a goal instead of kick it. It is a really physically demanding sport as you are swimming or treading water the whole time, all the while throwing the ball and trying to get it into the opposing teams net.

We had a dry erase board on our door. First night I came back, my nephew left me a note. "Skipping dinner. Already ate in the bar." :rotfl:
That's what we had also and I am sure if Brooke was older and maybe not so shy I wouldn't have seen her the whole cruise either.:rotfl2:

Hi Tina - Welcome back! Glad to hear you had a great trip.
Thanks I missed you my fellow pirates.pirate:

OK, time for class...UGH..I'm really beginning to dislike Tuesdays...LOL

Thanks again, everyone for all the great advice! Keep it coming! :thumbsup2

Tina, THANKS for all the great pictures!!! I will definitely check back later for the rest!!! Looks like you and DD had a GREAT cruise!! :thumbsup2

Later Everyone!!
-Christal
Thanks I have so much more to share.:thumbsup2

Brent was our "personal concierge" when DD was married at Castaway Cay. Such a great guy. I hadn't seen him or been on the Wonder until the 11 Night cruise last September...and he remembered me!!

Hmmm...not sure if that's a good thing...

I am sure that's a GOOD thing.:goodvibes When I got married on Castaway we had Bella for our personal concierge. I haven't seen her since. She was fantastic ! We will always remember Brent.:)

I'm glad I did not say that.

Pete I took a guess earlier and said some of the positions are tight head and loose head. It's something like that. What are the names? I remember when someone offered to be the tight head you said then you needed another hooker.

Good evening all!

I've just finished catching up after a busy but good day. Took DD shopping after school and found her communion dress.:cutie: Now I just have to stunt her growth so it fits in 2 1/2 months!:rotfl:

Darth...you are honestly a quite impressive swabbie!!! Baker, without crisco:upsidedow , tailor and costume maker AND an ER doc in your 'spare time'. Wow. And I hear you about loving the DISers on this thread. They're the best! That's why 93% of my posts are here.:thumbsup2

Preparation H also shrinks bags under the eyes..........as well as Hemorrhoidal tissues! I is a College Graduate....I is!!!
One of my DF from college is a pharmacist. I visited her at work one day and asked why the prep h was kept behind the counter. I thought it was b/c people were too embarrassed to buy it. Nope. It's apparently the drug of choice for coke users (or other snortable drugs) to shrink the nasal tissues so they can breathe again.:confused3

Oh Mary what was I thinking :lmao: :lmao: How could anyone play in water on a horse :lmao: I guess that's regular Polo on the horse. Water Polo does sound very physically demanding!

I know, I know, just tonight Angelina was saying she has to get ready to take the test to get her driver's permit, I had an instant headache set in. :scared:  :scared1:

Now I was soo ready for Adam to get his license. He got his permit soon after he turned 16 and license about 7 months later. It was so nice to have him drive to football practices and school. He has really been responsible also no tickets or accidents. The worse part was insurance. For the 1st year it was $2200 every 6 months!!:scared1: But the rates have improved as he has gotten a little older. I hear the rates aren't as bad for girls.

Holy Pope Batman!! That couldn't possibly be true could it? :scared1: :scared1:

It is. Of course, the point is the statistic is highly misleading b/c almost all of the crimes are visitors against visitors.

Funny.... I just finished watching the Tin Man episode of Stargate SG-1. You know the one were the team gets recreated as Harlan's maintenance crew.

But I'm thinking I probably shouldn't post that cause I might be considered lame. ;)

Ok, I hear that collective groan from the few who go it. I think I'll head off to bed. Don't post too much. Lately you've posted just enough overnight to keep me occupied on the bus to work.

:rotfl:

I grew up in a house where sewing was a way of life. My father was a tailor and mother a seamstress/nurse. I eventually learned from them and did help them in their shop almost daily. by trade I'm an er doc.

IDK where DH learned it from but when I told him that I had three counted cross stitch patterns of fruit to do for the kitchen, he said that he wanted to do one of them. He did everything but the outlining. You can't tell which one it is. :thumbsup2

In rugby the number you wear on your back indicates what position you paly:

1 Prop (or loose head prop)
2 Hooker
3 Prop (tight head prop)
4 2nd row
5 2nd row
6 flanker or back row
7 flanker or back row
8 eight man
9 scrun half
10 fly half
11 winger
12 center
13 center
14 winger
15 fullback (not bear back)

:)

JR I can't remember exactly, but isn't it a Tight Head and a Loose Head........oh I know that's wrong, but I think I'm close..:lmao:

I needed to quote this. Just because.

He was literally beating his chest this morning.... "I hunter, gatherer. I provide family with good meal." Really - he said that. He was very proud of himself. :goodvibes

Shhhhh. :ssst: Don't tell him I told you.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

It's very therapeutic.

Hey Caroline.....me and you definitely gotta hang.....I have the control thing too! I hate turning over my destiny to someone or something else. That is why flying is the WORST of all worlds. It too high and I have to turn over my control to the Pilot. Hey, maybe he fought with his wife, or is drunk, or worse yet, depressed and wants to commit suicide....on my flight....you know take us all down with him.....dead..........well you get my drift..:rotfl: :rotfl:

OK are you guys trying to scare me away from flying. to me it is much better than being in a car for a long ride. Anything that takes longer than 4 hours in a car--we have to go by plane!

Sounds like you had a blast!!:thumbsup2 I never knew they would stamp your passport.:confused3
When I went on the DD in Aug. I left my passport at GS for the whole week and I got it back stamped from every port.

How awesome! :cool1: It is the little things that make vacations so wonderful. :wizard:
It's also why I love Disney and only cruise Disney.............It's always been magical for us.

Welcome Home Tina!!! So glad you and Brooke had a great time!! She's adorable (and BTW looks just like you!)
Yeah she is a cutie but don't tell her she looks like me.:rotfl2:

Wow that is fantastic Tina!!! Welcome back! I missed you! :cool1:

I missed you too Diane.:flower3:

If you're using Outlook, there is a way to make the BCC field show up whenever you open a new mail message/reply to message. I can't think of how to get to that setting off the top of my head, but I know I have it set that way.

In a new meesage, select View --> Bcc Field. It will then always be there until you remove it.

All of this talk about sterilizing things for baby, etc....reminds me of something I had heard from a female comedian once.....She talked about how with the first baby, the binkie falls in the dirt, you grab it, and boil it before letting baby have it back. Second baby....binkie falls in the dirt, you rinse it under the faucet and let baby have it back. Third baby....binkie falls in the dirt, you pick it up and lick it and let baby have it back. Fourth baby....binkie falls in the dirt, you send one of your other kids over to lick it and let baby have it back.

:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: Yeah except our old neighbors (the ones who boil the water for bottles) would still boil the binky for their fourth baby!!!! :sad2:
