IN general... my unaudited survey suggested that CC patrons were less likely to receive a big bump in upgrade. And the possibility of getting from say a cat 12 guarantee to a veranda was almost zero... versus the same chance for a 1st timer had potential! In fact, the best a CC could hope for was a bump to a window while a couple of 1st timers reported they got bumped from a 12 Guar up to as high as a 6 veranda!

Oh yeah... most folks say they were happy with their cabin locations too.

I guess that we are not normal then. We were upgraded from an 11 to an 8 on our first cruise then an 8 to a 4 on our 3rd. :thumbsup2

Well, you said if we post pictures of our couches then you would comment. I was just happy to oblige. Strange I know that I have a picture of my sofa on my computer. The pillows are not there now, I was only taking picture of them for my portfolio and website before I packed them up and delivered them to their rightful owner.

I know I have to make a sticky for the chat so I remember that it exists.

The pillows looked fabulous. I'm just secretly glad that they aren't still in your living room.

Computer Diagnosis

One day a Disser on this thread complained to his friend that his elbow really hurt. His friend suggested that he go to a computer at the drug store that can diagnose anything quicker and cheaper than a doctor.

''Simply put in a sample and the computer will diagnose your problem and tell you what you can do about it. It only costs $10." Bill figured he had nothing to lose, so he filled a jar with a sample and went to the drug store.

Finding the computer, he poured in the sample and deposited the $10. The computer started making some noise and various lights started flashing. After a brief pause out popped a small slip of paper on which was printed: "You have tennis elbow. Soak your arm in warm water. Avoid heavy lifting. It will be better in two weeks."

Later that evening while thinking how amazing this new technology was and how it would change medical science forever, he began to wonder if this machine could be fooled. He mixed together some tap water, a sample from his dog and samples from his wife and daughter. To top it off, he gargled in some water and put that into the concoction.

He went back to the drug store, located the machine, poured in the sample and deposited the $10. The computer again made the usual noise and printed out the following message:

"Your tap water is too hard. Get a water softener.

Your dog has worms. Get him vitamins.

Your daughter is using cocaine. Put her in a rehabilitation clinic.

Your wife is pregnant with twin girls. They aren't yours. Get a lawyer.

And if you don't stop posting on the Disboards, your wife will run off, and your tennis elbow will never get better."

Lisa--

I've read that it is possible to use WDW tickets for DL, but not vice-versa. Has that been confirmed with Disney?

Aren't DL tickets less expensive, and also allow unlimited hopping between the 2 California parks?

I suppose anyone who is doing a pre-stay at DL and a post-stay at WDW should look into the longer WDW tickets just to see if that is a better value somehow. :confused3

Yes you can use WDW tickets at DL but sadly not the same way around. All DL tickets expire so maybe that's part of the reason. And no, not all DL tickets are hoppers. The one day ticket you have to choose a park. And when using WDW tickets, you can't exchange multiple days for a multi day park hopper. You have to exhange 1 day each morning. So I'm not sure you'd get a park hopper from a non hopper WDW ticket.

But you do bring up a good point, it might be worth exploring more for those doing each park. Get a WDW non expire and use for both.

Just wanted to say goodmorning to all. Hope everyone has a nice day. Will be working the entire weekend including Monday. Hope to keep current, will have to resort to reading the summaries though.

:)

I ran a survey recently on the DIS... it was mildly comprehensive and evaluated several considerations where I had curiosity: IE, what were the assignments folks obtained (simple enough), but what were he assignments IF you were a Castaway Club repeat patron versus a 1st timer? And what if you booked direct with DCL versus a TA? AND... I asked how many folks were happy with the location they received?

IN general... my unaudited survey suggested that CC patrons were less likely to receive a big bump in upgrade. And the possibility of getting from say a cat 12 guarantee to a veranda was almost zero... versus the same chance for a 1st timer had potential! I would say that the data set is flawed.

Our upgrade was due to travel agent error, and then a mechanical problem with our stateroom (similar to the Amtrak issues! ) In response to your question, it would seem that we had a huge upgrade. In reality the upgrade happened in 2 portions and neither of them were pleasant.

However, the Mouse ends up winning in the end. We haven't gone back to a non-verandah room.

Now I'm wondering....if we buy a 10 day non-expiring non hopper for WDW, would we be able to do both DL parks in a single day? It sounds like NOT? But if we added the hopper option then maybe we could?

It may not be worth adding the non-expire option, which we need since we'll be at sea longer than the 2 week window for using the expiring tickets.

Well I'm caught up. Now I need to get my butt in gear and get some work done! I think I better have dd try her bathing suit on to make sure it fits. I see Target has them out and they are a reasonable price. She is getting tall and not filling out in the waist, so sometimes it is a challenge to find pants long enough that won't fall off her waist! I got her a Tink suit from Disneyshopping.com last spring I think it is a 7/8 and we also have a one piece, which she will need for summer day camp. You know that when spring rools around you can never find them!

Gotta run.

Thought I would drop in for a moment. I have been reading the summaries..:lmao: I'm hoping to find more time to stay up or maybe things will slow down once the dust settles :rotfl: . We will see. I am excited about all the plans, braclets, t-***ts and etc. Thank you all for the planing and posting :thumbsup2 . This is going to be an awesome :cheer2: cruises. Janet and I dropped the 9/18/07 eastern :sad1: so I could be more supportive to my sister and go to the airport with her after the western in 07. so we transferred that booking to the 5 day after this :cheer2: . Figure I need the time to sleep after 15 days with all you Party :dance3: Animals. I am so looking forward to meeting each of you. Lois

WOW!!! There are quite a few of you staying onboard for the 5 day. You could have a mini meet when you have to leave your rooms for a bit up on deck 9. :thumbsup2

I get long layers. This is the shop owner that is the rave of the town but only the 2nd time she has cut my hair since my regular person moved oot. I get long layers with bangs and nothing shorter than my chin....except the bangs. Well, I now have shorter layers all over and my hair looks like it has those stupid feathered wings. :sad2: I was just getting to the point where I liked my hair again. I don't like having to mess with it. Now I am going to have to do alot to keep this stuff from frizzing out to the side...hence the term mushroom head. :(

Sorry Lisa! I hate it when someone besides my normal stylist has to do my hair - after 8 years she knows exactly how to cut my hair and what lengths I'm comfortably with. A few years ago she had a cancer scare and was out for several months going through treatment, one of the other stylists in the salon did my hair (back then before the gray I used to just get highlights) - so I go in with my long hair with beautiful soft dark blonde hightlights - I come out with shoulder length light blonde hair! I went home and dyed it dark blonde and didn't go back until Sue returned.

Sending some pixie dust that with the use of headbands, styling product and such it is good until it grows back.

I totally agree Paula! It seems we all have quite alot in common. That's unusual for such a large group but it's AWESOME! I really think that this is why our thread is so big already. We all love DCL, we love pirates, love our partners and kids, love our pets, we love old shows and old songs, we love groundhogs, we LOVE good jokes, we love rugby and hookers, we love Evil Twins, we love Capt Dining and HAHA Dining, we love alcoholic and/or virgin cocktails, and we LOVE food....boy do we love food! It seems that we are all quickly becoming real friends! :grouphug:  :grouphug:

Me too, They actually go in a really nice bedroom in a multi-million dollar home. I can't afford them for my own home. LOL

Does anyone recall the post # that contained the navigators from the last Panama repo? Want to show the DW.

Those kind of links are in the summaries. Click on one and it will pop up in a new window. Easy to skim. The links are in blue in the summaries. :thumbsup2

Yep, Marriot, Hilton, Holiday Inn etc....... have longer booking windows. Expecially at resort areas, which Disneyland and Southern CA are. Good Luck to all those who are planning 'The Rest' of the Repo trip.

Mark

Ok...don't flame me, but I have never stayed at a WDW hotel:rolleyes1 . I also have never been to DL. Anyway, I understand you are right on the property and can get early admission to parks, but are there any other incentives to staying at a WDW or DL hotel? I have a Starwoods card and can get free nights at the Sheratons that are nearby, but just curious if there's a motivation that would cause me to forgo a free stay at a Sheraton and pay for a DL hotel? :confused3

Lisa I miss our website :sad1: :sad1:

When I just read that Enna's name maybe similar to JR's I would have popped right over to the website and see if Enna maybe listed her real name. Alas, I can't do that. Besides which I know Enna's in the Witness Protection Program and would never make a amateur mistake like that :lmao: :lmao:

Why do I have this thing with knowing people's names? Why do I feel bad referring to someone by their DIS name? Why? Why? Why?

Because I have the "Need To Please Disease"

Too much Oprah and that's why I had to go and get a job :lmao:

I really do miss our website though!
