We used the wake-up call method. I have to get up to an alarm clock at home, I really don't want to when I'm on vacation.

I asked Angelina this question and she said eating a cheeseburger that was delivered by room service!!! That's one thing she is really looking forward to again. In August 2006, she called room service and ordered a cheeseburger, when room service arrived there were two cheeseburgers on the tray, she shared the second one with my mom. Hazel and I had just come back from having eaten chicken tenders on deck 9!!! :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 :rotfl2: My kids didn't realize they could order room service anytime they wanted. They thought it cost extra. ;) Maybe I shouldn't have told them, because I may have created little monsters. I'm going to have to make sure I have a bundle of bills on hand. :sad2:

Okay serious question for all you experienced cruisers. We were only on a 3 day so I didn't pack alot of the recommended items on the various packing lists here on the DIS and in the passporter. As I am a compulsive planner and in the interest of saving money for more stuff on "the trip of a lifetime" I intend on buying things we will need when I find them on sale or clearance. Please share with us your MUST HAVES - for example, over the door shoe holder, duct tape, etc.

Thanks!

I liked our over-the-door-shoe-holder. It was great for keeping all sorts of odds & ends in a place where they could be easily found. We had everything from sunblock to spare batteries & memory cards for the camera to medicines, brush/comb/etc. in it. The full-length one has more pockets than the dollar store one, which is much smaller.

We really liked having one of the battery operated Oust fan units in the bathroom. There are often coupons on them right in the store.

We have lots of other supplies in our pre-packed suitcase--Mickey hands, glo necklaces, birthday banner, sand buckets...ummm...nothing that I'd say you NEED.

We have not yet had a use for duct tape. I know Judy said she'd bring a whole roll.

Hmm...maybe we can divide up that packing list, and each of us bring something, rather than everyone bringing the same things?

Heavens no Lorri, not for waking up. But to see what time it is and to give you a little light in the room. Personally, I hate not knowing the time. :lmao:

How old are your kid's Enna? Mine are DD 17 and DS 14 (as of tomorrow). But I was a child bride you know :rotfl:

I can't believe my youngest is 14. Time truly flies.............which is why, even though I'm cheap by nature.......I always slurge on vacations. We've had some kick-butt vacations over our kids lifetimes that I wouldn't trade for ANYTHING!! Especially now that DD is about to go off to college. Our annual vacation is the best investment in our family that we could have ever made. But this vacation, this is truly our Trip Of A Lifetime since I don't know how many more after that one DD will join us on. :sad1:
MR, I have always done the same thing----I love nice vacations trying to keep DS interested in going. He will be 19 on his trip. And I think soon off on his own.......

ITA! First thing I do is look at the clock when I wake up. But I always bring a night light too, because I'm afraid of the dark. :scared1:

Andy isn't that why we have laptops........to take them everywhere :lmao:

I retract that last statement since I will be making smoothies.

Repeat, I do not bring my laptop to the turlet. :lmao:

Why move anywhere?
