I thought Lisa was talking about "other" types of spam which I had about 10 of after our electric came back on this afternoon.

Welcome to everyone that is joining this cruise. Congrats Captain Crash for the Also I hope everyone is staying safe and warm in this cold spell that most of us are having. Thanks for the warning of the spam's. I didn't go to work today because of the icy mixture. So I'm sure I'll just delete them out.
If anyone is interested, here's my story. My DH didn't get down on one knee either, we were on vacation in Maine visiting my relatives for a family reunion. We were driving to get to my Aunt's house and passed a tuxedo place and I just mentioned that we could rent his tux here and get married as we had already discussed that we wanted to get married. He had said to ask my Aunt what we needed to do. I actually had to ask him if he was serious as I was only joking, Surprise. We arrived at my Aunt's house and DH said don't you have something to ask your Aunt so I asked her. Now everyone else in both of our families knew he was only going to propose while on vacation, we had our wedding in only 3 days. Thank goodness I had my Aunt to arrange a lot of stuff, we got my dress, some flowers, rented tuxes and prepared food. We go back to the hotel room we had and then DH said I might as well give you this (the ring) now since we are getting married. I think it was nice as I had more flowers that I didn't have to pay for as I had a whole potato field in bloom for my pictures.
Now the really strange part of this, he was my brother in law, he had been married to my stepsister although that was 4 years before we started dating. We will be married now for 16 years this July, been with him for 18 years. Wow I feel real old now.

I've never seen a potato field in bloom. Can you post a picture (or have Lisa put one on the group website)?

What is it with everyone saying they'll tell us in person. Do they really think all 'whatever" hundreds of us (whatever the amount is) will all be sitting in a room quietly while they tell us the story! They might as well just say they don't want to say. LOL

You know, I never think of Maine as a potato state - Idaho seems to have the lock on that - even though I KNOW that they grow potatos there! I always think of Lobster when I think of Maine.

They even celebrate with a parade every year with a Potato Blossom Festival.

Well I WILL tell you this our wedding took place in a hotel & while the arrests were going on downstairs and did involve members of our family, DH & I were sitting comfortably in the Jacuzzi in our honeymoon suite sipping champagne.

I would have to try and scan it into the computer, once I get it figured out, I sure can. It really does look nice when it is in bloom.

I must admit I don't watch Lost - I just finished watching one of my guilty pleasures - South Park, but have moved on now to Law & Order: CI on USA.

Good idea Laura, you know 15 nights is alot of nights for DCL to entertain us. We could supply some entertainment with some of our stories. I can see it now a couple of hundred of us all fighting for the mic

Okay I'll tell. My mother caught the bouquet. My DF had passed away when I was 16 so she was single. My DH's cousin caught the garder & slipped it on my DM's leg. My brother is a bit of a hot head so when my DH's cousin went up to him and whispered "I think your mother liked it" all hell broke loose. He started punching the wall & told him to get the "firetruck" out. Well the police were called & everyone was sent to their rooms. Unfortunately my sister, 2 of my brothers (including the hothead) & a female cousin of DH's were in the elevator arguing & they forgot to hit the button for the floor so when the doors opened & the cops were still standing there....they all got arrested.
