Just sitting here relaxing because our electric went out about an hour ago (1:50pm on 2-14-07). Happy Valentine’s Day to us. It was 72* in the house when the power went off, we are now down to 65* time to bundle up. The electric company said it could take until tomorrow morning to get our power back on. Hey, at least we are saving on our electric bill, LOL!!!

If things get too bad, we might be looking for a hotel room for the night, if we can find one in the area with electric that is, LOL!!!

Angelina went to her friend’s house after school and they don’t have any electric at her friend’s house either. Looks like this is a wide spread outage, oh joy!!!

At least I do have some battery life left on my laptop and I am saving this message in Microsoft Word so I can post it later.

Well, I guess that’s all for now.

Update:

Yea, the power came back on around 4:30pm, went back off for about two minutes, then came back on and stayed on, at least for now, LOL!!!

It’s back up to 67* and climbing!!!

Not to go back and see what I missed the past few hours. ;)

Glad the power is back on -- and I think your typo is correct: NOT to go back and see what you missed would be the correct course of action.

Just had to share this with you. A DFriend of mine e mailed me this.

WOMAN'S PERFECT BREAKFAST
She's sitting at the table with her gourmet coffee.
Her son is on the cover of the Wheaties box.
Her daughter is on the cover of Business Week.
Her boyfriend is on the cover of Playgirl.
And her husband is on the back of the milk carton.

UNDERSTANDING WOMEN
(A MAN'S PERSPECTIVE)
I know I'm not going to understand women.
I'll never understand how you can take boiling hot wax, pour it onto your upper thigh, rip the hair out by the root, and STILL be afraid of a spider.

WIFE VS. HUSBAND
A couple drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a word.
An earlier discussion had led to an argument and neither of them wanted to concede their position.
As they passed a barnyard of mules, goats, and pigs, the husband asked sarcastically, "Relatives of yours?"
"Yep," the wife replied, "in-laws."

BF just called..was let out of work early (had to talk him out of coming to see me!). About 5 min from house got cut off -had a spin out and two cars behind him hit each other due to his spin out! I hate this weather!

Glad your back with us. Hopefully you won't lose power anymore.

Sounds like the boss in Office Space....have you seen that? You know the guy whose always carrying his coffee cup around.....

I LOVE that movie!!! It's one of my favorites!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

WELCOME BACK ANDY!!!! Maybe do some jumping jacks until the house warms up all the way! :yay: ;)

I haven't the foggest what you are talking about Jeff, not sweet inocent me. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

It must have been the cold, snow and lack of power that clouded your thoughts.

I recommend you don't walk to close to any railings on the ship. :rotfl:

That is what I usually do. When DH was gone for months I tended to be on here until 1 or 2 am.

you had mentioned earlier about the time your DH was away and how it affected your kids - I can relate: DH spent about 5 to 6 months working in one city while DD and I stayed behind at home..he worked too many hours and we were lucky if we saw him for most of the day Saturday. It really affected our DD terribly - she is so close to him, as I bet yours are close to their dad too!:) I hope to never have to do that again!!!

oh no! hope he is OK!!! - and he is home safe soon!!!:)

Well, if your committee contribution is "DCL pitfalls to avoid" then that's a MAJOR contribution!

Lisa--add Michelle to the Wine & Cheese committee before she talks herself out of it. :)

I haven't been adding people based on posts. Could you please pm me with everyone's name so that I can note it in the first post? Thanks! :thumbsup2

Just spoke to DW a little while ago. She has been on and off a plane at Phil. Int'l for the last 7 hours. As of now, they're on the plane, waiting in a long line to be de-iced. Could take them a few more hours to take off. Or, it could take them a few more hours to decide to cancel the flight and send everyone home.

She's heading to San Diego for a big meeting that she is largely responsible for. I guess her boss, who went out a day earlier to do a site visit in San Fransisco will have to run the meeting if DW can't get there. That would actually be really fun to see!:rolleyes1

Goodness what a PIA! :grouphug: She is going to be worn out once she gets there. Are they giving them anything to eat...or is that expecting too much?

OK, time to go home now...be back later! Take care everyone, and stay safe and warm!!!
