pirate: I have no idea where the conversation is now because I'm still 75 pages back, but I had to announce that I'm coming out of lurking for good!!

I GOT A CABIN!!!

I've been religiously checking the DCL website and miracle of miracles, tonight there was a cat 9 that popped up instead of the error message. So I immediately called the Castaway Club and saved my spot!

Let's not even think about how much I'm paying for only 1 adult at this point. It'll all be worth it next August. Besides, maybe I can persuade someone to come along with me by then.

Anyway, now I'm really glad I've been "wasting" at least an hour a day of my life for the past 2 weeks lurking on this thread so I don't have to go back and catch up on everything.

Can't wait to meet everyone and to get to know you all personally in the next 18 months!!

Before I forget.....I managed to snag the two Cat-4s and get the DCL confirmation email at 6:18am (PST) on the 31st. At that time the 1st room (2 Adults, one 7yr old) was $10,313.72 and the 2nd room (2 Adults) was $8,802.45 and a nice total of $19116.17  (insurance included - no air).

Anyway, that's one more toward the 20K :thumbsup2

Andy

Congrats and Welcome Aboard Andy & Family!!!!

Really, I'm just counting the days 'til DD gets to wear uniforms for school.

The one thing that I don't like about the school I want to send the kids to next year is that they have uniforms. I have a wardrobe for both of them packed up for the next 3+ sizes from clearance sales and hand me downs from friends. Very inexpensive. It is going to cost a lot for us to keep them in nice and clean uniforms. DD will put holes in her pants all the time. :( That is small compared to the problems at their current school though.

O.K., so I got my confirmation from DCL in the mail today (after I made my deposit).

On the sheet it listed the times for each stop:

Sun 8/17 Los Angeles Depart 5:00 p.m.
Mon 8/18 At Sea
Tue 8/19 Cabo San Lucas Arrive 8:00 a.m. Depart 6:00 p.m.
Wed 8/20 Puerto Vallarta Arrive 6:45 a.m. Depart 11:00 p.m.
Thur 8/21 At Sea
Fri 8/22 Acapulco Arrive 6:30 a.m. Depart 6:15 p.m.
Sat 8/23 At Sea
Sun 8/24 At Sea
Mon 8/25 Panama Arrive 6:00 a.m. Depart 8:00 p.m.
Tues 8/26 Cartegena Arrive 6:00 a.m. Depart 5:00 p.m.
Wed 8/27 At Sea
Thur 8/28 Aruba Arrive 6:30 a.m. Depart 5:00 p.m.
Fri 8/29 At Sea
Sat 8/30 At Sea
Sun 8/31 Castaway Cay Arrive 8:15 a.m. Depart 5:00 p.m.
Mon 9/1 Port Canaveral Arrive 4:30 a.m. Depart 4:00 p.m.

So, looking at the Port Canaveral day, does this mean that I don't have to "depart" the ship until 4:00 p.m.? :rotfl2:

Exactly! :( I HATE HATE HATE the Bratz mess. They even have baby hooker dolls now. :sad2: I do not allow my DD to have the dolls, watch the cartoon, or dress like them. She has been taught that they are inappropriate & not nice. She no longer asks for them in the store. The other day we were looking at toys in Target & she wanted to see the princess dolls. We turned down the wrong row and she said Mommy I don't want to see the bratz dolls. They are inappropriate. A woman nearby said that she wished her DD said that. ;)

You must be quite proud of your DD. You set a good example.:flower3:

Helloooooo Everyone!

Just got back from the Doctor, and guess what? My DD (17) has the FLU and her temperature is 105.1! I thought the Nurse was gonna Poop A Brick! She said that's unnaturally high. I said don't worry, we actually seen DD's temp at 106.7, of course she was 6 at the time. Anyway, she pretty miserable today, she's taking Tamiflu and Bioxin and we are on FLU alert around here! :sad2:

Hope you're all having a nice day!

All brick kidding aside... we hope your DD feels better soon. The medications will probably bring her around soon to her feet. At any rate...

WELCOME, KIMBERLY!

Not when it comes to dressier clothes. You can't find anything for <10 year olds. They seem to think all they do is run and play 24/7 (o.k., well maybe he does).

The boys departments in most stores are only about 1/4 of the men's department, and those usually aren't big.

I have been happy with the suits at Walmart...though I truely hate that store. DS is 8 and wears an 8-10 now. I have found them for $35 made of nice fabric.

Thanks MR - I was telling my trainer tonight about this lovely lady from the DISboard who carries 100 lbs of alcohol in her backpack on board ship, and that I was going to need to help her and her trusty cordless blender out and carry on an additional 100 lbs so we don't run out - I think he got confused with August 2008 and February 2007!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

You must be in great shape!!

I hear you. DS9 is in Junior Showmanship with our dogs. That requires him to wear a tie and such when he shows. Choices are definitely limited. Fortunately - he's happy with one outfit at a time.

DS has quite a tie collection. He started wanting to wear them at age 5. I bought a bunch on Ebay from one seller. Now he is set for a while. :)

Ok...finally caught up...now got to go beat some kids...

I'm joking....I'm not really caught up.

I was skimming....scrolled past this....had to scroll back.

Hope the kids lived to tell, and that you get caught up soon.

Good for her & you! I hate those bratz dolls too! I guess I miss the old days, when the raciest doll on the block was Barbie! Kids grow up too fast as it is, why would we encourage it even more?:confused3

in total agreement here - no Bratz dolls!!! DD got one as a gift - didn't make her return it, but we won't be buying anything to go with her either!!!! Glad she is into Littlest pets!!!!

Does it seem like there are a lot of Leo's on the board?????
