Actually, if you are planning to go to DL and go immediately on rides, particularly in Fantasyland or Tomorrowland (since the monorail leaves you in the middle of Tomorrowland), by using the monorail you can save a lot of time not having to go to the front of the park, going through long lines, and heading back to those areas . . . it also gives you a great view as you go past CA park. However, you are right in that the monorail isn't crucial as it is at WDW. You can get around perfectly fine on foot.

How does that work at park opening time? We figure we'll be there at opening each day because we'll still be on East Coast time, and I would want to be at an entrance where we can get into the park as soon as it opens.

Calling the Captain weird ..... now that's bad!

Well, actually, he said to call him 'wierd'. I am not sure what that is. Seems like bad spelling can make for a good loophole.

Good Morning ALL!!

Well, it is a bit warmer here today. The car said 30 when I took the DD to the bus stop at 6:45am. Sure beats the -10 below last week. It is snowing pretty good right now and we may have 1-2" to shovel today. I hear more heavy snow storm may be headed our way tomorrow.

I actually have a job to work on today. Finally got all the fabrics in and would like to have a happy client by the end of the week so I can add some $$$ to the Mickey fund. That is if I can get my hands to wake up today. They are asleep from Carpal Tunnel and I am having to do a lot of typo correcting while I'm here.

Hope to try to keep up with the boards while working :rotfl2:

Didn't watch the Grammy's, but curious, any Country music fans out there? Can't say I am a fan of the Chicks. Would have been nice to see some other artists win some awards.

Has anyone stayed at the Courtyard Anaheim at DL Resort on South Harbor Blvd? It says that it is right across the street from the park. Right now it is between that & the Fairfield Inn down the street. TIA.

I want to say that is where we stayed a few years ago. I know it was a Marriott. I'll go back and check. It was a decent hotel -- typical low-cost Marriott. They had a shuttle to the park. We ended up driving to DtD because we had DD with a stroller.

I was about to ask the same question.:thumbsup2

Hello folks...

... just checking in ... I set up a new computer for the kids and potentially - the parents too once I move the wireless hub back here so I can hardwire the cable modem into this computer (it had no wireless antenna). I hooked up an old 19" CRT for it and hooked up a 19" LCD for one of the notebook docks. I'm still using the little notebook LCD screen. Everyone seems to be happy now with their equipment. Later tonight I'll install office on the new computer.

So - in O'BWVs' posting it seems several folks have shared horror stories on AMTRAK. Evidently, my posting about taking a train cross country has encountered some resistance and criticism. Maybe now would be a good time to say - I was rying to be helpful.... that's all.

I am just working my way backwards here a couple pages before I step out to run errands.

TTFN...

You know how women are -- a little exploding toilet and they get all freaked out. :rotfl:

I bet none of you snorkelers and scuba lovers have seen fish like these on your excursions.:)

Sorry couldn't resist.

Some of you may remember the rant I went on about Shutters a few THOUSAND posts back - hahaha. Well, now I am even more mad because we just got back from the Western cruise Feb 3 and I have not had a chance yet to get everything put away and such. Finally got to our pics that we purchased on board and our picture with Jack Sparrow - the only one I really wanted and made sure we got - well the date should be Jan31 BUT it reads Jan 9:mad: I am writing a letter to DCL. DH filled out the comment card and mentioned the trouble we had with Shutters but now I am mad and DCL will be dealing with me now. On our next cruise unless Shutters has drastically changed their procedures I plan to have DH take our camera - we will take our own pics! Anyone else ever had the dates mixed on their pics?

DCL can't help you. You need to contact the company that handles the photos and my experience with them last month was very prompt.

If you have questions or requests after your cruise, please contact us at 1.800.772.3470 or customerservice@imageservices.com.

On the 12/9 DD they messed up the ports listed on the embarkation picture and I didn't find out about it until after we were home & someone posted that they had had all of them reprinted Tuesday. I received two copies with the correct ports listed within 2 weeks from the time I first contacted them. :thumbsup2

Here is how we do it. You can enter the park 30 mins prior to opening. They will allow you to go to the end of Main St. From there it is a short walk 2-3 mins to either tomorrowland or fantasyland, you can ride most rides in the first hour of the park being open. If you take the monorail it is more convienent dropping you off in tomorrowland, however sometimes there are delays in its leaving DTD and you might be 10-20mins behind the main st. people. As long as you are on the first monorail of the day you will save a lot of walking. From DLH it can be a 5-10min walk to the main entry plaza. I will try to get a map of this area posted today.

Good Morning, everyone!

Looks like I'm not the only one researching DisneyLand plans.

Does anyone know which of the 3 Disney hotels is most convenient to both parks?

Which is most convenient to DL? (Either walking or transit)

Thanks!

From closesest to furtherest. CG, PP, DL.

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Well, you know, now that I think about it, I don't know if I have enough unmentionables to last 15 days. Goin' commando one day might work :rotfl: :lmao:

I KNOW that I don't have enough for 15 days - might be more than 1 commando day!

There is a small line that forms before opening, then about 10 minutes before opening they start letting you though . . . your ticket is processed there as you go onto the monorail platform . . . then you get off right in Tomorrowland. I found we were some of the first in Fantasyland the day we decided to go there first, using the monorail.

See Pete, you're filling up your roster. By the way, I think you guys must play commando too. Naked Rugby might be just a little much. Although someone here mentioned that Serenity Bay has a topless section. You'll just have to play there. I can bring the cordless blender to go along with the bucket of beer. Just this wenches vote! :lmao:

:lmao: :lmao: I'm with ya MR! :lmao: :lmao:

But then how do you get back to blonde?! Us wenches spend small fortunes and agonizing amounts of time to get beautiful blonde hair!

Or to get beautiful brunette hair (especially when you have lots of gray).

:thumbsup2 The Beast is fun. Kings Island is fun. But NOTHING compared to Cedar Point! Especially if you are a coaster freak like me.

The new and improved SoG is is wonderful! Did they offer you an overflow rate? Everytime I've tried to book when SoG was full, I was offered POR for about the same rate as SoG (+tax).

ITA!! CP is definitely the best coaster park!!

Yes, we were offered an overflow rate....I wish it were POR....but, it's at the All-Star Music. We've never stayed there before. I think the kids will get a kick out of the decor.

Didnt have date messed up but we did the 40 Christmas cards ....picked them up the last morning of the cruise when we were on the Dec double Dip ...when we got home we found out only the top three cards were us and the other 37 were some other family ....we contacted Shutters and they sent the picture file , gave us a refund and paid to have our cards done at a picture shop here in town ....They did right by us for sure .....

SOG is by far the best deal in all of WDW. The rooms are very spacious. And most have views of the golf courses.

Keep calling back, maybe you can catch a cancellation.

You're right...I should keep calling.....
