They may be obtainable on Amazon but if not let me know and I will pick you up one. Somebody has got to have them. I just have never seen them at Borders, B&N, or Books a Million.

I'm still catching up, so this may have been mentioned already - but try looking at your library. I saw it (Kingdom Keepers) at ours yesterday, but I already have too many books stacked up to read to DS7 so I decided it could wait for another day. I did find and check out the book mentioned about 1000 posts ago on The Panama Canal by Cruise Ship. I've read about 1/2 and it is pretty good (although some bits are a little dated.)

Just realized - I totally left DH off of mine - he is one of our heros in blue - a police officer. Another job that takes very special, dedicated people.

Mine is too! I got quite a few in my extended family. They're the ones that don't get arrested! ;)

We're still debating on the surgery. The mass might not be anything to worry about and we could risk her life in the surgery. It's such a tough descision. :sad1: It's also quite expensive for the surgery, but she's priceless to us. :guilty: How does one know when to just let things take their natural course? :sad1:

I see your dilemma....I think, given her age, I would probably not go ahead with the surgery. If she didn't make it through, you might blame yourself.

Just wanted to post a couple pics of our pets:

Here is Zonkers. When we got him, he fit in DW's hand. Now he's 110 lbs of PIA and playfulness. He'll be 11 this summer, and he's slowing down a little, but he was acting like a puppy in the snow yesterday.

And here is the cat that adopted us and gave birth to 5 kittens in our garage. All of the kittens went to good homes. We're working on finding a home for her, because I'm allergic. I'm not a big cat person, but I really like this one. I'm putting up with the sneezing and hives, because we feel like she came to us for a reason, and we want to make sure she's safe and happy. She should be going in a few weeks, when the people who are planning to take her finish their kitchen remodel.

Well, off to bed to watch TV with DW! Night all.

No sooner did I enter this than I got a call from the school. They called to tell me that the driver forgot to drop off the kids & will be coming back by in 8- 10 minutes.

Hope they got home safely. (I haven't caught up yet.) This happened to my brother and SIL last year. They were at the bus stop waiting for the kids and they were like 15 minutes late. As my SIL was walking back to the house to call the school, the bus drove by without stopping. My brother yelled at her to run and call the school and he hopped in the truck and followed the bus to the next stop. Was a freaky story, but turns out the driver 'just forgot'. I still don't understand that. It wasn't a sub or anything.

It is in keeping with our pirate theme! pirate: We couldn't get into too much trouble swashbuckling with tiny plastic swords, could we? :lmao:

Hi, my name is Jennifer and I am the reason you will not find tiny plastic swords in cheese cubes at get-togethers where I work any more. pirate:

I don't have pictures at the moment of our two cats, but here's our ''firstborn." She'll be 14 this year. We're not sure how much longer she'll be around. :sad1: The vet found a mass in her abdomine. They tried to take a sample, but were unsuccessful. Next step would be surgery...that she might not survive. :sad1:

I'm sorry - I hope everything works out.:grouphug:

Some people can develop an immunity to cats. I did. When I was pregnant with Ilea, I suddenly decided I wanted a kitten (talk about a strange craving!) to hold, not to eat! So we rescued two kittens from the local shelter. (Our plan had been just one, but I wanted a grey kitten and this other kitten was just so cute...) I put up with sniffles, etc for several months, while pregnant, when I couldn't take any anti-allergy medication. How do they thank me? The take turns peeing on my bathroom carpets! They used to pee in our dining room, but we had that carpet pulled up and replaced with hardwood flooring instead. Yes, they're both fixed. That hasn't stopped them.

Ok..I have tried to find the answer but can't so here it goes...

I see that someone has been sending out SPAM..I recieved one yesterday telling me about a new portal but when I click on it..it has the wrong name but says it is going Eastbound... is this the SPAM everyone is talking abuot? If so..I will delete it.

Sorry..I can't keep up with the board..I go away to work and am so behind when I get back I have to stay up late and catch up! :surfweb:

And since I didn't get to share my engagement/marriage story...here it goes (if that's okay)... we met on the internet ..and because I had been married before and now had a DD..I wanted to be friends with someone who didn't live to far away from me (I know..how romantic!) He was the most interesting and lived only 3 miles away! We chatted for awhile and then arranged to meet. We did the basic dinner/movie thing. What drew me to him was his first email.. he asked about my DD (she was 1 at the time) such as when did she walk..what was her first word, etc (win the heart of the Mom thru the kid!) and he also told me that he currently owned the house his grandparents built because he had taken care of his Grandmother when she became ill and passed away and then bought the home when his Mom/Aunt put it up for sell. He also owned a cat (BIG cat lover here).. well..I figured he couldn't be all that bad but I didn't want to get married again.. long story short...about 6 months later we decided to get married.. we just kind of decided...no ring or anything... while sitting in front of a Party City (party supply store here in California) in my Toyota Camry... he starts saying romantic things and how he wants to spend his life with me...I turned to him and said "that's sweet but we only have the baby sitter for an hour and we need to hurry and order our invites so can we get going?" He then produced a heart shaped diamond ring.. he said he thought I should have my ring before we started planning the wedding ... color me every shade of red!

Now.. I still tease him how romantic getting engaged in front of Party City was and he still teases me that I had NO idea he was proposing! We have been married 7 years and will celebrate our 9th anniversary just as we get to Florida in 2008...we are looking at doing the vow renewals if possible.

Desiree

Oh - how sweet!

Speaking of Dogs, that's my Rosee in my Avatar ... We lost her to Cancer in September. We still have her Uncle, Budde, who is adjusting but is still very clingy!

So sorry you lost your Rosee. I have a dog named Rosie. She's a cockerpoo & looks a lot like your Rosee. She's very bossy though. Thinks she runs the place. :sad2:

Hi everyone. Just found this site while doing a search for this cruise. This will be my 3rd DCL cruise. Did a 4 day Land/Sea back in 2000 and a 7 day Eastern last year. I'm really looking forward to going through the Panama Canal. I hope I don't have to read all 20,000 plus posts. That would take me until cruise time. :)

Maggie

WELCOME! I've been here since day 1 and haven't accomplished that feat!

If its the one for ************, yes. Its is another thread of cruisers on our cruise that manaaged to aquire our e-mails from our website. If you wish to visit its you choice. We were only mad because of the underhanded way they went about the e-mail..

uummm....Dustbuster?

Ummm ... Yes! He came from the shelter and was named there. DS7 (then 5)decided it would confuse him to change his name so we kept it. He is a long-haired calico (yes, a male calico). I'll try and dig out photos of all 6 of them later and post them...

Hey guys! I'm home from work, and I still want to tell all about my kitties, bur I'll do that after dinner...Speaking of dinner, Jen secretly ordered Carson's Ribs, with au graten potatoes and bread!!! :cloud9: And she was going to surprise me yesterday with them, but they didn't come until today. So she's in there heating them up now!
