Hey, looks like the Swabbies are out numbering the Wenches right now.

Think we could get the next 400 posts done before they all wake up and log on?:lmao:

Hey...

... careful not to stir them Wenches up much... they've demonstrated a certain degree of "muscle" in the past... <chuckles> Remember, they're the ones who began referring to us "MEN" as parasites...

And I felt compelled to assert that we had more in common with them then they were admitting...

I've been to London about 5x ...

and snow would have been pretty novel. I think I would have enjoied experiencing that!

Yes, it was incredibly beautiful . . . it was my girls' first time in England and I have amazing pictures of them at the Tower, in front of Westminster Abbey, etc., with huge puffy snowflakes coming down. You always think of Dickens novels as portraying London in winter blanketed in snow (or maybe it's not in Dickens but in movies!), but I guess it's just not that common. That was the only time I have been to England in winter, so I got lucky!

We get less and less snow although had one cold snap about a week ago and then a lot this week, as soon as it comes everything stops!

Thursdays was the biggest I remember for a few years!

All the old routemasters are now off the road and replaced by new modern red buses but they come out occassionally in summer.

Nice pic of Piccadilly curcus!

Yes only two short cold snaps this winter so far! January was the 2nd hottest on record ever and missed 1st by the short cold snap at the end.

Crash,
Just checking in this am and seeing a lot to catch up with. As for the piano we have a Baldwin Baby Grand. My sister owned it before us and when she moved out of her home to an apartment due to a divorce she sold it to us for an awesome price. My DD took lesson for years but unfortunately, she isn't a big fan of the piano anymore and doesn't play much. I have thought about taking the piano in to have it set up be a player piano but it cost a lot more and I have a hard time with the thought that they have to take apart my beautiful piano to do this. But at least it would be being played more than the little bit it gets used now. It is a beautiful piano. It has some wear to it as my sisters cats use to like to sleep on the top.

Good luck with the lessons.

I've heard Baldwins are awesome pianos too. WOW... it's like everyone here has such beautiful and impressive pianos. I'm beginning to feel very much like the new kid on the block with my thunking about these initial "baby steps" into piano lessons with my daughter. Alaas, I'll work my way through it. As yet - we have not actually "started" yet... so I AM taking baby steps here!!!

It's not an elegant animation - but it consumes very little bandwidth!

Wow...

You're gonna DRIVE out from NJ? Wouldn't a train be easier if you're not gonna fly? But - if you're gonna drive - why not try AAA ... they make trip tik flip charts custom designed from your origin to destination. AND ... that might be a good idea???

AAA Triptiks have sent us on non-existant roads...twice.

We have had the best luck with Yahoo maps. I think the public feedback makes them more accurate. :confused3

Have to say the DIS wench looks far better than the Dis pirate man, She can serve at my table ANYtime! Pushing your luck on the connected photos, I do not condone it!

i didn't have the courage to post anything! i felt a little "brave" tonight so i thought i'd give it a shot...

That's great. Welcome. I felt the same way. I thought "wow, these guys are Pros, they know each other from previous cruises or something, I'll just be interrupting their discussions. I'll just 'lurk'". It seemed a little intimidating, but I happened to see a few posters discussing some common interests and took the plunge. Now my wife thinks I have issues:rolleyes: .

Hope any other lurkers are "brave" enough to give it a shot. :dance3:

Seeing your note about "home to the 2012 Olympics" also brings back memories of that trip . . . I believe the race for the Olympic hosting city was hot and heavy at that point, and I remember that Virgin Atlantic had some kind of logo on the little covers over the headrest about the bid. We were happy when we heard you had won it (I think NYC had been in the race earlier, but had already been eliminated at this point). It's going to be quite something to live there during the Olympics, isn't it?

I deliberately gave the Wenches a better looking spokes person compared to the cheesy PIRATE representative.

ANd... I may be missing something... "connected photos"? :confused3

Yes it’s down the road the land is already flattened and the international Station to Europe was already being built and opened November this year.

Its good for London to host it, I think we will do a good job, albeit we keep moaning about the cost, its put up my local Tax for the next five years but I feel all the country should assist by government.

Our biggest rivals I believe were France and very kindly a day or two before the vote, the French president slagged off the UK saying our food is terrible and there is only one country with worse food than us and that’s Finland.

Finland had four votes and we one by four votes. Good one!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA, ALAN AND KANDI

Please enjoy some Frosting for me. Love cake but the frosting on a birthday cake is the absolute best!!!!!

Say...

... that's the spirit! We all stated somewhere... and most likely we were all sitting where you feel you are ... AND... before you know it you'll enjoy welcoming the next neighbor aboard the voyage!!!!

hip-hip - huzzah!!!!

LOL - DH always ordered soup off the kids menu -drove our waitress nuts! LOL

Mine too!!! That is funny. After we have had the same server for several trips he just started bringing the Chicken Noodle Soup to my DH without him ever needing to ask for it.

On the 11 nite sailing last September I was walking the ship with my DIS neighbor passing out fish extender stuffing novelties and treats - we had a couple of strollers in use to carry the stuff and we eventually picked up a ships officer shadowing us. THAT was security.... no Q about it. Of course, we were making our rounds at something like 2AM.... which for my DIs neighbor and I amounted to only 11PM since we were both from Caifornia.

Crash, I haven't met you, but with your creepy sneaky guy pictures and bathroom trips w/your computer, I'd think DCL would assign a ships officer fulltime to shadowing you.;) :lmao:

My DD always orders off both starter on Adults then a kids one then main course Adults, My DS is often on the kids one plays it safe and then moans when he sees ours, he never learns always plays safe!

There was a Cinderella shoe made from chocolate and filled with chocolate mouse on the last repo, I told him to have it, he said it was a 'girls' thing, when he saw ours his eyes popped out. Next night he asked for it and they had all gone! He even asked for it in 2006 on the normal cruise and they were not doing them, roll on 2008! Unless its at the Med in 2007!
