I like the idea of the lime bracelets because they would be noticable but also they are something that can be worn all the time... not just a shirt where you'd only recognize the DIS'ers when they wore those specific shirts. It's similar to the buttons we had on the last cruise- something that can be worn every day, all the time, so people can recognize one of their "own". ;)

We knew the Disers on board even without the lime green T-shirts. A couple on our 10 Southern Wonder(first timers) had lanyards made up with our 10 day logo cruise on the entire band. They also made name badges that went onto the lanyards with our Dis names and our real names. I got a lanyard from Castaway Club but we always wore the two. We could instantly know who were Disers. I am not sure how much they paid and all the work put into it. When we saw two lanyards around a neck, we knew they belonged to the Dis family.

I took the advice of someone on another thread to contact DCL thru the website about never having received our CC club numbers or the kit or anything.
I got a response today with our numbers (yeah!) and a bunch of other info. But it also said this
In checking your current reservations, your Castaway Club membership
numbers have already been applied. For your next cruise, you will enjoy
the following benefits:

-Exclusive Check-In Line
-Key to the World Card indicating that you are a Castaway Club Member
-Exclusive Castaway Club Lanyard and Pins at Check-In
-Castaway Club Stateroom Gift
-Castaway Clubhouse Event
-Exclusive Castaway Club Merchandise available to purchase in Treasure
Ketch
So what is the Castaway Clubhouse event of which they speak there?
That's not something I've heard about!
Usually there are free drinks and some DCL games. If I recall, the Captain was there too. It isn't a big thing if I remember...
:figment:

I figured out that if I make monthly payments I'll have it paid off by April 2008. This way I also won't have a heart attack by taking all of it out of our savings at once...
How we plan to pay ours off, which wouldn't be until atleast Feb 2008 at the earliest, is this year's vacation pay (not taking the time off, just taking the pay), this year's tax refund, next year's vacation pay (but really he's taking the time off for the cruise but I refuse to think of it that way LOL), and next year's tax refund.
Done.
:)

Oohh, okay. I think I've heard of that before but just hadn't heard of it referred to by those words- clubhouse event. It made me think it was something for the kids or something. LOL

I don't trust the DCL lanyard. They are too bid and open for the room key. I usually use a little nicer "Badge Holder that has velcro and a zippered pocket (for booty)

There was a nice badge holder, better than the DLC CC lanyard.:thumbsup2 It was very easy to spot people just from looking on the necks. We were approached and approached many Diser's this way. This would end the problem of the black or white t-****s. We did wear lime green shirts to have a pre cruise meet so we could get the lanyards. Even the children wore them without a problem. All 200 hundred of us met above Scoops.

I am planning to pay off our cruise when I get our cabin assignment.

The Drink of the day sounds good to me right now!:drinking1

Also the Lava Cake, Cheesecake, Tiramisu and all the other goodies on board including the Mickey Bars!!! Also the smoothies!! Oh My!!!

I agree. My daughter had her card fly out of hers at the port when we got up. I saw it fly out or we might not have noticed until we tried to board. I had brought one of our older ones we had gotten from WDW travel and swapped out the plastic holder. You can also buy better plastic holders at Wal-Mart or Walgreens and clip them to the CC lanyard.

You're just a crusin' DIS ....

I will post a picture later tonight to show evryone how it worked. I just do not know how to work the digital camera.

I just finished typing up the info for 33 families here & there are still tons of emails to go thru. There is the chance for me to transfer our group info to a password protected non commercial website so please bear with us as we try to get that set up. The manifest and Birthdays will remain on the current site temporarily until we are able to make this work. :goodvibes

I hope it's not tier 2 :scared1: We booked online at 5:20am for the exact configuration CAT 4 2A 3K 15,15 & 12 and got the same quote as UVAWahoo. I thought we did good

I did something really stupid which I will not do next time, obviously :)

I was online around 8:30am and got a quote for the EB repo of $12,106 for GTY CAT 4 (2A and 3K (ages 6, 8, and 11)) but I didn't book it becasue I had a TA that was supposed to get better rates than what I could get and she came back with the $12,806.20 :scared1:

:hippie: to buck#1 fan!!! yummy...go you bucking eyes!!! psst, that's
where i fun-d me #1 wenche..many m. victoriies ago, and where 2 of
my nieces went...me> love watvhing the band music & man-uevering!
(my old, my! they really need to fix the bowl system..they are ruining..
none of the major bowls were worth watching...whoever heard 2 mos
off?....it's sad, not the losing but how poor the games are being play..
boise st. desereved national title, my opinion.. and iam a gator fan too!
but what good is something when it has little meaning-all the major
bowls were awful this year..too diluted!

I'd love to see my ds play in that band someday.....

Yes, Boise State had a GREAT season....I was really happy they remained undefeated.

Our price if I remember correctly as DW handles all the money was 11,400. for 2 adults and 2 children ages 8/11. This was done through All seasons travel in florida.

Wow! That is $1400 cheaper than our CAT4 and all seasons travel booked our cruise also. DU e-mailed me and said they were not able to obtain a reservation for me.

I talked to both MS, and DCL Both admitted DELIBERATE OVERBOOKING. On my last call to MS said they informed me that the points and the costs were NOT in the tiered pricing, They indicated DVC gets discount pricing. I recall being in NYC more than once and having a limo offering me a “Special Rate” 30% more than their regular rate….

I have to :rotfl: at the idea of DVC prices being discounted. Once our friends found out how much less we paid for 4 people in the same room as they did for 3 with points, they started booking DCL with cash instead.

I really like Mark&Mary, I was hoping they would be on the cruise; I also wonder who will make the buttons???

No buttons. Someone mentioned making name tags for the first day but many do not wear those, pins, or lanyards because they don't want them in all the pictures.
