Andy,

May I ask what you do that you have to walk outside all day?

I feel bad for anyone outside in this cold. I was looking at the NOAA website and the WC's here are getting to the point where frost bite will set in, in 5-10 minutes. :scared1:

The lady on the news had a tray of ice cubes freeze in 5 minutes this morning. :scared1:

Hi Jeff,

I read water meters for a living, have been doing it nearly 28 years now, and I still don't like the cold weather, I'm a warm weather type person. Besides, I have arthritis in both of my kness, have had 7 knee operations (4 left knee, 3 right knee) since I was 16 years old, so this cold weather takes it's toll on me after awhile.

It was still quite brutal walking out there this afternoon, but at least I finished the meter book I was working on around 2pm, then I got in my work car and kicked the heat up on high. :rotfl:

I just DARE the captain to try and make an announcement about "Making way for the band of wenches on deck 4"!!!
That would be a daily workout in itself...what with all of the rolling on the floor and laughing!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'm thinking we need to get with the activities people and get some DIS Wenches vs Captain/Swabbies competitions going.

Maybe every sea day have one competition and then have a big to do on the day before Castaway Cay.

Have a mini DIS-Olympics.

That sounds like a SPLENDID idea! Hee Hee...:hyper:

Andy,

28 years. Man that's gotta take a toll on you.

I've had 2 knee surgeries so I know what you're going through.

What they are doing here in WI now is starting to read the meters over a DSL type line. They will dial in to the meters at 2:00 a.m. one day each month and have them all done in one night.

We still have the gas and electric guys come around every other month.

Try to stay warm.

"I'm gonna sit right here and have another beer in Mexico..."
Kenny Chesney was just on my boss' radio when I went into his office...Now if only I were really in Mexico...*sigh*

Oooh Fetes of strength... I'm in....

Don't make me have to hunt you down by room numbers knocking on doors and slapping big stickers on your foreheads so I can find you later on. Ya hear me?)

There are places we could have custom temporary tattoos made...or there's inkjet paper to make your own...

We should also try to make magnetic door signs with the logo. :goodvibes

O.K. what can of worms did I just open with this "competition"?

Sorry fellow swabbies. Looks like the wenches want to throw us overboard. :lmao:

Ooh - the logo as a temp tatoo - now there's the kind I can get without pain!

Headed home...We have a meeting with our case worker this afternoon!
Talk to y'all later!
