I'm with you BBB . . . I'm going to give the gym, a try this week. Eat less, exercise more. I did the same thing two years ago. Lost 40#. I'm going to do it again, too!! You can do it!

thanks....
I'm going to try, but not right this second. LOL I told you I'm not of the right mindset yet!
I have a lot more to lose than you though. I lost 80# and gained every bit of it back. Apparently this is the size my body likes to be though because I went back to the same weight- within an ounce I swear!- and stay there no matter how I eat. :confused3

LOL! It would only be temporarily to give everyone a chance to catch up a bit more. ;) :lmao:

Or for you to lock it at 11,999 and open it so you can get 12,000. I see how this will work. It did hesitate a little there right before 11,000. :rotfl:

I've got another 15-20 that I want to loose this year myself. It really does help working out with a Personal Trainer - they can be very motivating.

I have a few other motivators. My personal trainer looks like Orlando Bloom. :goodvibes

Also, the gym we joined has an AWESOME child care area (almost as good as the Oceaneer Club on the Magic) and they kids beg us to go to the gymn so they can play in the child care. Then there's the indoor pool with two slides, the rock wall, It's been 24 hours since we've been home from the cruise. I'm amazed they haven't started begging again.

Me? I get to see my personal trainer again Tuesday. :rotfl2:

Hazel just got off the phone with my mom. My mom told Hazel that the paddleboat in the photo below sunk the other morning during the tornado. This paddleboat was made by hand by the owner, I forget how many years it took him, but we took a ride on this boat when we visited my mom during Easter 2005. We had such a nice time cruising the St. Johns River on this boat. It was a three hour lunch cruise. I felt heartsick when Hazel told me this news a few minutes ago.

That is so sad. :(

We recently got rid of our gym membership.
For one they have no daycare- but I still could have gone during the day while they were in school. But I never did. We paid on that membership for THREE YEARS and we only went to the gym a few times those first few weeks- after that we only went a few times a month during certain times that children were allowed in for family swimtime in the pool- neither of us worked out.
So when our 3yrs were up (in Dec) we cancelled it. We just wasted all that money.

HOWEVER, we did move in Nov to a house with a pool... I plan on burning some cals in it soon as the weather warms up. I'm so stoked to finally (first time in my life- nearing 40yrs old) have a pool in my backyard.... to swim anytime I want and not have to drive somewhere to do it. And with a deep end (something we couldn't have with an above ground pool). It is going to be such a blessing to have this pool during our hot Texas summers! We can't wait. :)

Hi All,

Bibbidy,

You are certainly not alone! I would also love to take off quite a bit of weight. That is the bad news. The good news is we have plenty of time to do it! I am determined to start this cruise at my goal weight - which I haven't detertmined yet. Lets be weight loss buddies!!!

By the way, there are 5 of sailing. Myself, DH and 2DDs ages 4 and 12 at time of EB cruise along with my Mom.

Can't wait to get to know everyone!

Mary

Hi Mary!
We're a family of 5- our kids ages at time of the EB cruise will be just turned 8, almost 11, and 14.5yrs old.

yes, the good news IS that we have plenty of time to do it. I did it before, then when our cruise had to get postponed even further (because of school schedule changes)- I slowly gained it back before we finally cruised. But the good news is there is plenty of time, apparently lots of you gals for us to give each other moral support, and I have those clothes in the closet just taunting me... neener neener. LOL I would feel totally overwhelmed and like it can't be done- if we were cruising sooner. But this is plenty of time. Last time I started at the end of Feb and had lost 80lbs by the end of August. So it can be done! (and I did keep it off almost a year- then slowly let it crawl back on. I think that's why I let it get so bad- it didn't happen fast.. it just slowly slowly added up little by little. snuck up on me so to speak)

One good thing- I can learn from my past mistakes. Apparently I can NOT just go back to eating normal (my normal anyway) without gaining slowly but surely. It all started for me when I had surgery (ironically on the left over stomach skin just hanging over my c-section scar-and I mean hanging) and I couldn't get up and make REAL foods- and ate high carb junk food.. and it went downhill from there. I never could get back on track and I'd only gained 2lbs- so no big deal right? But those 2lbs add up over time. 3yrs later- it's all gained back. ugh So now I know what NOT to do...

My DD will be 15 on the cruise...She's 13 now...

I think there are many around that age...

Oooh, that's so good to know!
I'm not worried about my younger two in the lab- but my oldest... I was kinda concerned because I want her to hang around kids her OWN age, not the ones almost 18 and such. Yanno?

I was dancing and singing....my son just shook his head and walked away....I was like 'what I told you he was popular when I was in school!'

LOL! I was dancing with DD. She wore herself out & fell asleep soon after. :thumbsup2

My best friend and I have this great idea...if you yourself cannot lose weight, fatten up everyone else around you. It makes you look thinner! :lmao:

oh really...We were just going to bring Dumbo on the next cruise....
