Well, now that the dust has settled down, I will be joining the "Escaping Moms" for 15 days of fun with all of you.

I live in Central Florida and have cruised on the 2004 10 Christmas Cruise and the May 2006 Double Scoop (Blabbermouths) Cruise which is where I met the other escaping Moms. I missed their Grand Adventure last fall on the 10 Day Wonder, but my family has graciously agreed to let me be a part of this adventure.

At cruise time, my DS will be getting ready to start college and my DD will be starting High School. My DH (Scuba Diver) has agreed that between he and DS they will make sure DD gets set at school as well as one of them driving her to Gymnastics (5 days a week - 45 minutes away) each day. I am truly blessed to have such a supportive family.

It will be fun getting to know each of you. :cool1: :cool1:

I can't find the post about the bracelets.. but we did that last criuse and it worked out great. It was line green and had the date of the cruise and..let me see if I can find it and I'll post.. but it made it easy to recognize other DISers.

Sorry to say but it has to be in the low 80's here today. We will enjoy while it is here, rain by the end of the week. Hope that is this nice when we sail.

It most likley would have moved on a heck of a lot before the next time I visit Monday evening, being five hours ahead of you I miss the busy period.

I have the funniest story about dressing in Church. 3 years ago at DD's first holy communion - we are all dressed to the nines, she is stunning from head to toe and all of a sudden I hear all these people talking in the row behind us about a mohawk. I turn around to see who they are talking about and to my shock it was my 7 year old nephew. I wanted to die. I said to my sister - why did you let him do that - her reply was - he wanted it - I said couldnt he have waited til tomorrrow. OMG I was mortified. It was the standard joke in our family that the next year at my nephews communion we were all going to show up in Mohawks so my other sister would realize what we were making the fuss about.

You know Ginny, I could see you doing just that :rotfl:

Lisa, I really like the bracelet idea. I did pins for our last cruise but it's true that nobody really wore them after the first meet so it didn't really help to identify dissers.

I LOVE the bracelet and I LOVE a lanyard. Can't we do both.

For those who don't use a lanyard. Where do you keep you KTTW card -a purse?

Mary Rose

pirate: :snooty: ...well for what it's worth, i here to take what i can!
[though i have sneaked that statment in a few time, i have never
received the proper ..salute? pirate: style..man! never knew i was
so sneaky and canty]

GIVE NOTHING BACK

Ok, so I'm probably way late, hopefully someone else caught that and saluted you.

I keep mine in a pocket. I also bring a little purse that I use at dinner.

Diane I wore the pin you made me on my lanyard everyday! I loved it. I'm looking at it on my lanyard hanging here right now!!!!

I use a purse at night, but for daytime I have the cutest beaded bracelet that has a plastic card holder attached to it. Found it in a catalog somewhere....will have to see if I can find it.
I also have a couple of lanyards that are more like a necklace than a lanyard..."decorative" maybe?

Have you seen the little clips that they have at WDW and DLand...that have a retractable lanyard holder? Those are pretty nifty, too. I have a Mickey, a Stitch and a Lilo.

I should take a picture, since I don't explain things well.

Stacey Oooh I love that bracelet idea. I could wear that on one arm and the DIS bracelet on the other. Let me know if you can find the catalog. Thanks!

It is a beautiful day here in So Cal. We are practically neighbors just over the hill and by the beach in Oxnard. Looks like there is a least three of us Ventura County residents booked for this trip.
