Crash, I missed it as well. You have to buy 3x of the bag of Carp. They have it posted in the rules for it.
DS came thru with the new computer. Gave me his old one with over 500 g hard drive. and DH got mine. However............All my files etc are on his so I have been slowly migrating them to mine and of course having to work yesterday cut into my time:goodvibes But aside for a few I'm all transferred.

I am all to familiar with rebuilding personal files when migrating to a new machine. Ugh...!

As for WOOT... I had no idea the bag o' crap deals required you buy 3 at a time. Then again, I don't think I'd mind trying it. as I have no reluctance at tossing it intot the trash if it really turns out as crap for my purposes! Chuckles...

Crash I noticed you posted this link earlier. I downloaded the file and it is cool. It gives you fireworks in different shapes and has a countdown and I set it for the TOAL.

Always a pleasure to share a few chuckles with a neighbor!

For those unfortunate enough to not recognize the scene above - may i refer you to renting the hilarious YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN DVD?

I never did find out if you have to pay for the shipping 3x tho.
DS ran as link to DH computer since we are networked thru the home. So it was just a chore going thru all the files and seeing if I really need them. Amazing what you collect after a few years.Only glitch is the ipod. Still have to use the other one. Won't work on this one for some reason.
Also somehow with the new one I now have spellcheck on the Dis. Lots of red underlines :lmao: Not used to that.

A chance to actually ballroom dance would be fantastic! DH and I have been dancing since college (though we haven't had much opportunity lately) and the only disappointment for me with a DCL cruise is that there really isn't anywhere to ballroom dance. I had hoped that the "band" in the Promenade Lounge would occasionally provide the right kind of music - but on our 3 cruises, it has been mostly pop/rock and on our last cruise was absolutely horrible to listen to. We've only stopped by there a few times, but it was either music that just wouldn't work (unless you want to do nothing but foxtrot the whole time) and/or the floor was filled with little kids. I have never heard a waltz or rumba or polka or even a decent swing being played there.

Pamela (pdarrah)

My spouse and I never took any serious ballroom danincing classes... except ONE ballroom dance class we took 23-24 years ago in college. As such, we just sort of shake it up in a spontaneous style all our own. BUT... ONE DAY... I'd like to take a series of real ballroom dancing classes with my dear sweet spouse.

I believe it's $5 shipping for up to 3 Woots. As for the ipod thing... I bet it's an Itune security thing. Something about some tunes only usable by ONE machine for so and so a number of transfers or connections? I don't have an ipod so can only quip my vague understanding of it. But I bet I'm on the right track... get it... I'm on the "right ... track"

OK, after a couple of days away, so much to say. Was going to post the other night, but gave up when I turned into a pumpkin waiting for the board to load.

Pamela - darrah sure looks cute in those ear muffs. I guess you guys will get plenty of use out of them. It is mild, wet & blustery today with no sign of any snow.

For those fishing & snorkelling, hope you have a great time. Neither of those "float our boat", but probably as Hermione is still so young. I fancy a spot of horse riding at one of the ports (can't decide which), but otherwise will probably do our own thing or a short tourist tour so at least we see the main sites. Lauren is desperate to see the cliff divers, so fingers crossed DCL can fix that one!

Ballroom sounds excellent. I was a real SCD addict & as a child won a couple of ballroom medals, but would love to do it again. Not sure what DH thinks of that so I may have to cross my fingers & hope to be "chosen" by an officer!

It was nice to see the WB night itinery, but am impatient for ours so that I can really get into planning mode.

Finally closed on our DVC purchase so now we can keep annoying everyone with "welcome home"!!!:rotfl2:

Hope everyone has a great week-end. Off to play a game of POTC DVD game which lauren got for Xmas

Paula...

Your replies made me reflect on how much I was "identifying" with some of your replies. My observations are editied into your quoted reply in RED below.

#1) What are your 3 favorite MUSIC BANDS, INDIVIDUAL or GROUPS?

I dither depending on my mood but ones that keep coming to the top of my play list are Scissor Sisters, Mika and Sugababes

I sorto fo had the same posture and musings when weighing this questions. And I too enjoy the Sugarcubes. Although I'm not familiar with Mika or the Scissor Sisters.

#2) If you have an MP3 player - what type do you have? iPod Classic 80GB

I was keenly considering this model... as it's price has dropped and it would have been an "original". Alas, the skin flint in me prevailed and I went generic and minimalist.

#3) What did you have for breakfast today? Toast with pumpkin hummous and dhal - I hate breakfast foods so have something most consider unusual when I get a chance.

Breakfast is actually an uncommon undertaking for us. However, when traveling I enjoy a nice breakfast spread. AND unusual things (when found) for breakfast are always a pleasure.

#4) Have you finished your Christmas Shopping? I'm a little late answering this one but I had it all done in October and just had to get my work Secret Santa gift in December.

I've been a similar funk with the near the same circumstances.

#5) DO you think you're gonna get what you REALLY WANT for Christmas? I didn't expect anything and got two lovely boxes of chocolates from clients, some gift vouchers from work and my secret santa gift.

Funny, I got some nice chocolates too, and some nominal gifts. Nothing fancy except a promise for something bigger later - as the bigger things on my list are not priced right yet. SO I admonished my spouse to wait - and besides - a newer model is about to unveiled which may completely change what I am interested in for a "gift". Really, bottom line is that I covet very few things that I have not already gotten. Not that I have a lot of "stuff" or not... just that for now I can pass on some popular gift ideas circulating this season. Kno what I mean?

#6) What is the LAST thing you'd like ta get fer Christmas? More junk to clutter the home - I have enough stuff already!

Totally Ditto here.

#7) If you could create a special "DREAM" shore excursion on our TOAL... what would it be and or involve? I've drawn a blank on this, I've not even checked out the real shore excursions. It wouldn't involve the beach though - I detest sand. I like Castaway Cay but that is about my only exception.

Yeah... i posed the question and went through the same funk when trying to ANSWER it myself. I had difficulty comingup with something that was plausible yet "dream-like" in nature. And like you I've given the shore excursions little thought until recently. That snorkle cruise Roger (?) was circulating sounded pretty good. Only thing is my group of 26 (I lost a cabin/family - the pastor withdrew) would have to be coordinated and given a chance to join in. As this is a family & friends gathering of sorts for us.

BONUS QUESTION #8 - have you been NAUGHTY or NICE this year? I'd say nice but I am about to be naughty and buy me an expensive something :rotfl2:

And unlike your confesion above - I've already been naughty (unspecified) and good - and am not contemplating anything provocative in the near future. AND I will take this moment to "condition" my admittance to being "naughty" with a renewed assertion of INNOCENCE!

OK... I've gotta run along now. I was thinking of catching up a bit - but felt compelled to reply to a few replies. I have no delusions as to if I'll close the gap on unread segments prior to year end. The board is off and running and I've still a bunch of "fools errands" and "busy me do" tasks to tend to. So - with this I'll bid thee all a brief but fond farewell.

Edited in... I wuz musing why I wrote some of the things I wrote today - and then i realized I seem to be coming down with something. I've had this sinus pressure that is almost causing a headache (maybe it's already here) and for a couple days I've been coughing up "junk" while I repeatedly tell myself "...no, you're NOT getting sick because I NEVER get sick".... so.... I just took some pseudonephrine and told my spouse instead of stepping out to run erands I'm about to go take a nap cuz I think I need that more. Well... I'l take a nap after the kids get thier lunch - which I'm in the middle of cooking. They're getting a lean ground turkey patty, plus freshchicken grilled over rice, milk and maybe a little left over prime rib - which the older daughter is clammoring over. I'll let my spouse complain about the menu balance later. I really feel kind of "achey" almost all over and just kind of wierd. My throat is NOT as tender as it was yesterday - but I feel really worn out and it's just turned 1PM here. What a way to enjoy the day. RATS. Oh well... adios again...

But it is going to turn colder, Snow in the north, and we might get a cold snap for new year!!!!!!!;)

Sorry we missed you last night but obviously you were needed in another capacity for a higher good than chat.

Good try at the picture, not my company. Long story. Still, good friends and neighbors there.

Fellow pirate:s

Sometimes life just sidetracks best laid plans. I wanted to come on last night and chat with y'all, catch up on e-mail, generally harass y'all, etc., but ended up going out and playing fireman. Did I mention I have been a volunteer for 25 years this February? (Crash maybe one of the upcoming 7 questions should be "Tell us something about you we don't know).

Last night was bad, one or worst in years. Fatal accident time 5. I got to sit in station and guide the cover companies, but still was a long call. When it was over, the son of a former chief and friend of mine started repeatedly saying he couldn't get it out of his mind and didn't think he was going to be able to sleep. I talked to him for a while then took him out to a quiet bar, bought him a beer and talked one on one for a few hours....I think he is doing better.

Thank you for those who e-mailed to tell me where chat was being held. I did get on about 1:30 eastern (on Piratezone, DIS was kerflunked at that point) but it was just Arlene and Esteri left. Guess all the east coasters (other than Arlene) were calling it an early night.

Nice to see the boards up and running (dare I say fast?)

Have a happy Saturday.

Tom, I sure didn't know that about you. What a great way to volunteer your time. I can only imagine the horrific things that firemen, police and EMS witness. All of them are special people in my book.

Hey folks, I'm back to South America in 2009:woohoo:

My brother and his wife were married in May 2006 in a very small civil ceremony and promised to have a big wedding in a few years. Since her family is in Brazil-that's where the wedding will be:cool1:

I gotta start saving now as well as find a portuguese dictionary:rolleyes1

Anybody been there ?

Laurie, that will be a great trip! :goodvibes :cool1:

What a great movie - one of my all time fav's. Matter of fact, I can quote that movie just about word for word.

Ohhhh!!! this is soooo much better! Thank you :worship: for the new servers:goodvibes

Hello, Pirates!

I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays!

Sorry to hear about your difficult evening, Tom. It is wonderful that you take the time to volunteer. That is a job not many can do!

Sounds like we will see a lot of you on the same shore excursions! I just booked my husband and boys on a fishing boat in Cabo for their big gift, and I am currently trying to find a horseback trip for my sister and me there (she is a great rider; me, not!). We are thinking of just hiring a van driver in Acapulco and going to the restaurant to see the cliff divers on our own. I don't think my guys would be thrilled to be stuck on a bus with shopping! And we are considering the Jolly Pirates, too. Everyone chipped in and gave Ron and me the Olympus 790, so we would love to go snorkling. My sister will be looking for some beach time, so I am just waiting to hear back from her (I sent her links with pics from cruise critic).
She gifted us with a zipline in PV, and I think she is going to try and book Los Veranos. That seemed to be the best one for chickens like me!

Other than driving the boys around, the only exciting thing was going into the city Wednesday. My sister took off from work and just the two of us went in. We had a wonderful day! Here are a few pics:

:lmao: Actually we reloaded the software and registered it on the new one but it frustrates meand I just have to walk away from it and is easier to just go to the next room if I need to sync anything.
Sounds like you have a touch of the flu!!!! Probably shouldn't be cooking for the family.:scared1: Go get some rest. By the way, the board is really going slow for me today. Every thing else is zipping along but it took 4 min to open up this window.:confused3 Anyone else notice it?

I saw those pennies on the Today show. Nothing like NYC in Dec. When I was living in Brooklyn, if I stuck my head out the window, we could see the top of the ESB.:lmao: Then when my Mom had her Co-op downtown Manhattan, we could see everything. I miss the city at this time of the year but do not miss the cold.

In Aruba it is the 9:30-2:00 Jolly Pirate, Snorkel, Swim and Swing that some have signed up for correct?
I am going to sign up today. I was not impressed w/ Aruba last time so hoping this will be more fun than snorkeling next to the oil refinery.:lmao: which is what we did last time we were there.
