Oh boy... just a few more til 4100! Anyone lookin' this way???

Oh my. I can't keep up with all of you!
Hmm, I might just play pirate and steal the next post too...
You guys were sure talkative today! I'm always on the cruises/threads where the threads go SO FAST AND FURIOUS that I have a hard time keeping up. How does everyone else do it? LOL

THAT IS TOTALLY TRUE....

... Mac computers have virtually no problems with these virus and spyware things. I don't exactly know why - technically. But - the disadvantage of a Mac is the vast majority of the personal PC world is using windows based machines. And if you have much need for swapping data or files with others - in particular with common applications - then you might want to remain in a windows envioronment - and just use a standard anti-virus program and you should not have many security issues. Oh yeah... you should try to knock off of opening unknown origin emails. And be very leary of anything attempting to load things onto your computer.

At any rate - your situation sould resolvable. When experiencing moments when things are unknow and when you're inconvenienced - it must seem fustrating. Just work your way around it.:confused3

Or buy a MAC! <chuckles>

Depending on who you talk to, the most targeted platform is PC (aka Windows), then Unix/Linux then Mac. Theories abound--easier to script something, more developer tools available, and--of course--hatred of The Evil Empire that Mr. Gates built.

As to file compatibility, Office 2007 is going to an open source XML-based file format. Others will follow suit so the platform won't make a differene. There is a google more software for Mac than Windows but my Mac savvy friends would tell you that most of the utilities for Windwos aren't needed for Mac OS because Mac OS doesn't suffer said flaw. :snooty:

Getting the last laptop was a total nightmare! First we take it into the store (pre FireDog days) and they said they couldn't do anything so they called the service department for us. Got the shipping box and waited 2 weeks. Laptop came back--broken more than when we sent it off!  Took it back to the store and this time the asst mgr said he would take care of it. Waited 1.5 weeks, no word, went back to the store. They check around and the asst mgr said the tech center called and said the unit was not repairable so they sent in a new, replacement laptop that morning. Puts it in a bag and was ready to send DW on her way. The district mgr was there so DW pulls the "new" laptop out of the bag....it was our original laptop!!!! :furious: :furious: So that was it...she WENT OFF on both of them.

End result...they refunded the full price of the laptop, the cost of the protection plan and sales tax even though we didn't pay taxes on it! pirate: THIS time I don't think she'll be as forgiving if they mess around with her :rolleyes1

It took me about 30 minutes to get on this morning, now there are over ten pages to get caught up on from the overnight crew, so I had better get back and start reading!!!!!

Only 2 more days to go!!!!!

Well, before the stress began I was going to post about how proud I am of DS. I found a note in his backpack tonight. He was voted as the student of the month for his classroom. This is what the kids wrote to turn in with his name.

Congrats!!! Way to go William!!! :thumbsup2

Morning sir,i'll be glad when the wait is all over either were on or were not simple as that, blood pressure can't take much more of the wait....:rotfl2:

Count me in!

I've so enjoyed reading this thread! I hope to be sailing and meeting all of you at some time during the cruise. Even if it's while we are doing laundry!

Good luck to all on the 31st!!!

:welcome: :welcome: :welcome:

That is so sweet Andy! :flower3: You can put your voice on it over the net? Wow.

Yes, I was given a phone number to call, and was able to record up to a 10 second message. The message was played back and if I didn't like it, I could re-record the message again. I think Angelina will get a kick out of this. Even at 16, she loves the Build-a-Bear things.

So one Pirate says to the Other - " I see you got both ears pierced "

and the Pirate Says " yep , they were on sale "

Confused the Pirate says "Sale ??"

and the Other Pirate replies " Yep they were a Buccaneer"

I know its stupid , but I feel looopy tonight

Ok, since we are doing pirate jokes and I finally caught up reading here is another one.

A pirate with an eye patch seemed down at a bar. The bartender asked, "What's wrong?" The pirate replied, "Arrrgh, they wanted me to be a teacher... but I only had one pupil!"

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

okay one more for the night ..

Long ago lived a seaman named Captain Bravo. He was a manly man who showed no fear in facing his enemies. One day, while sailing the seven seas, a look-out spotted a pirate ship and the crew became frantic. Captain Bravo bellowed, ''Bring me my Red Shirt.'' The First Mate quickly retrieved the captain's red shirt and whilst wearing the bright red frock he led his men into battle and defeated the pirates.

Later on that day, the look-out spotted not one, but two pirate ships. The captain again called for his red shirt and once again, though the fighting was fierce, he was victorious over the two ships. That evening, all the men sat around on the deck recounting the day's triumphs and one of the them asked the captain, ''Sir, why do you call for your red shirt before battle? The captain replied, ''If I am wounded in the attack, the shirt will not show my blood and thus, you men will continue to fight, unafraid.''

All of the men sat in silence and marveled at the courage of such a manly man as Captain Bravo. As dawn came the next morning, the look-out spotted not one, not two, but TEN pirates ships approaching from the far horizon. The crew stared at the captain and waited for his usual reply.

Captain Bravo calmly shouted, ''Get me my brown pants.''
