Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? I learned something tonight...thanks Buddy Bear!

The size of an image is measured in bytes, in most cases thousands of bytes hence the abbreviation "KB" for kilobytes.

To keep the forums moving smoothly with hopefully little or no delay of pages loading the DISboard "powers that be" have asked us to keep our images to a certain size.

Many programs that create web graphics use some form of image compression to keep the image file sizes small.

If you opened up Windows Explorer (assuming you have a PC) and looked at your images you may see something like this which shows the image name, size, type, and date modified. If you keep your image under 50 KB you're doing good. I hope this helps.

Jeff: Thanks, I just checked and I found Windows Explorer but mine doesn't look like yours?:confused3 It shows the doc. & I found my pictures but not the information on them. I can have Chuck show me when he gets home. He will be impressed I said the word " bytes ". I will actually know what I am talking about now.:)

Andy: Have you thawed out? Still grumpy? Nah not you! ;)

What is the question of the evening? Here I am able to post away while the boys watch wrestling & DD is sleeping & not much chatter! :confused3

The question was Which of the Seven Dwarfs are you? Or was that dwarves.....

If that's the question you meant. A lot of us are Sleepy.....

OK, so I'm going to the Governor's Inaugural Ball tomorrow night. Don't be impressed, it is pretty much as medium-sized fish in a very small pond sort of thing. So here is my question: Who makes for better arm candy - DH or Mickey??:lmao:
DH:

Mickey:

Real reason: OK if we are going to attempt POC characters (instead of just your average pirate). Who should we be? Todd????

That's a beautiful pic of you and your husband. He is very handsome, but Mickey is pretty tough competition!

I'm please to report that MICKEY loses!

Thanks! I love my "Mickey took me to Homecoming" picture.

So, late shift, what's up? Can we plot any dastardly deeds while no one is looking??

Dasterdly deeds indeed!

Sorry - I had to go get a tooth brush for my daughter - took my attendion away a bit///

So what did you have in mind? A friendly sprint to 3300? I'll be happy to help you get there to take it!

Let me dredge up a nice image to go with this though...

Hmmmmm - This depends on how deep you wanna get into it - ask yourself these question's ...out of all the people in POTC who do you see yourself being ?? Do you like Halloween ?? Like to Play Dress up ??? Are you into details ?? Answer these questions and I can help from there ...

I'm still undecided as to...

... if I am up to the demands of recreating a particular character. Now - I do have a nice Anakin Skywalker costume. But - that won't fly here... so for the moment I am still knocking the idea about - and will at least use a slightly enhanced version of my existinng Pirate costume. My girls have almost matched costumes - so they are SET provided no one grows out fo their costumes!

Hang out on the Community Board for a while. I got both tags at the same time

I am decidedly not Elizabeth (looking), but I like her spunk! I'm bull headed and adventurous, too. I like Halloween. By "normal" standards, we were pretty pirated out on the last cruise. Details are good. DH had 2 pieces of real sailor-wear for his pirate costume - a Russian Navy undershirt & his military academy drill jacket. (Yes, while I was out drinking until 2 a.m., DH was in the barracks alphabetizing his sock drawer for Sat. morning inspection!)

I'll post a photo, but I'm sure this isn't going to cut it with this crew:

Dressing as a character is not a requirment by no means ...Your costumes look great in that picture and would be fine . Its all about having fun wether your potraying a character from a Movie or dressing up as a Pirate to be in the spirit of Pirate Night . Of course I go to extremes cause thats just my nature. And as far as not Elizabeth Looking , oh stop ...you seen my regular pic , do I look anything like CJS ? Lots of make up , Just for men , a wig , great costume and CJS mannerisms and Poof , ther I am as CJS ..lol But if your willing to go the distance you could do any of the characters you want ...

DH keeps suggesting Star Wars dress up . . . more for me than him.:yoda: :darth: :chewy:

I don't think Anakin is going to work on this voyage. The leather tunic thing might work with the right puffy shirt though.

My DSs will need new pirate wear. They wore Halloween costumes from 2 years ago when we went in March. DS5 (at the time) REALLY wanted to be Peter Pan. Wrong movie, but at least there were pirates involved.
