Darn i need your friends realllllly bad.

I almost quit my job today. My boss is an add.

My computer died last wednesday and i had no access to the sytem until two days ago (monday) due to the holiday.

Apparently he was complaining to me that it was my fault that i was a week late (ie 7 days) on the projects i had due that day.

UGGGGGG!!!!

Actually it was only 2 business days since i have no access to the building on holidays or weekends (again he says that's my fault.)

Double UGGGGGG!!!!

I was so mad i was shaking.....:sad2:

I almost have to quit because my next person up the management chain is best friends with my boss.

Time to re-type the old resume i guess...Maybe re-build some bridges....

Christine, hope your Friday is better, have a good weekend.

That is soooo funny. Thanks for sharing. I might just have to elf our family.

You might have been reading the 'When will the '09 prices come out' thread, but if you haven't, many posters now have called DCL and they say the trips for 2009 will be out within the next 7 days.

On caller was told as early as Monday next week, no later than Friday!

Reports also say ALL 09 will come out at the same time, they have never done that before but a consistent message coming through.

Worth keeping an eye out on the 09 Thread and the DCL website, it has gone down, they maybe working on updating it read for next week, look out for LINK's maybe not connected, on new ports, and Itineraries.

Thread.

I must have been under a rock.:confused3 Thanks for sharing this Andrew. Can't wait............:hourglass

I know it is not 1,000 but for me to reach 100 posts period is an accomplishment. And I saved it just for this thread.:dance3:

Now I have to get back to work. Time for end of year performance evaluations. I have two yet to do this week. And I was just told I can't spend any more money this year as we are already overspent for the year. So I guess I turn off all the lights for the rest of 2007.:confused3

It's not the number that counts but your willing to post.........Congrats !:cheer2:

:lmao: :lmao: Time already for another pirate: run?

I didn't realize they had earthquakes in the Caribbean. Seems like there are earthquakes everywhere nowadays. . .(except Virginia of course . . .)

When I used to travel to CA a lot, I kept hoping to see what a earthquake was like . . just a little mild shaking . . .

Has anyone been through an earthquake?

Same here, guess you learn something new everyday.

What a RIOT Kristen! Here's mine - subject to further editing and refinement...

Darn Monica bet me to this one. I had to pirate one from someone else. Don't feel like looking through some 2000 pictures to find mine. I will try to get one with Surfin Santa in a couple of weeks when we are there.

Yea, and it will be moving into our area Saturday night into Sunday morning, then our temps are supposed to go up on Sunday and change all to rain.
:rolleyes1

Oh, yes. I hope everyone has a great Friday.:goodvibes :goodvibes I am really gonna try to make it to chat tonight. :)

Good Morning America said that KY ranks #48 as being one of the most depressed states. That's depressing.

Is that 48 out of 100? That's not so bad. What was number 1?
If I keep on this thread I probaly won't be making chat. After dinner it's really the only time I can actually spend time talking with Chuck.

The phone hasn't been ringing.:confused3 The other day they had the wrong number and that's why I wasn't getting calls. As soon as they corrected it bam it was non-stop. I better be a good worker and check into this............

Here is something to cheer you up Paula. This was your 3000thpost on our thread. Looks like you will be passing Tom (Crash) in no time.

I have a typo that puts Crash's PLAM TREE to shame. The receptionist at my office (who reports to me) sent me an email that said we were out of "bowels" in the kitchen. :confused3 At least I hope it was a typo!! Crash don't even try to come up with a graphic for that one.:rotfl2: Or you most certainly will be edited.

So what were they out of?

Bowls?
Towels?
Sausage?

Hello everyone!

I thought I was the only one old enough to remember that song.

So what were they out of?

Bowls?
Towels?
Sausage?

Bowls. But now she sent out an email telling the staff that if they have anything in the refrigerator that is not labeled it will be "disregarded". HUH? I think I need to find a new receptionist. Thank goodness she is a temp and I don't have to hire her. I need her around until after I get back from my WDW vacation in December.

We?...there's that thoughtful little mouse in your back pocket talking again.

I just checked SWA. I could get $79 each way out of Dulles or BWI.

Hmmmmm:rolleyes1 Could i bring my sleeping bag?

Oh, yes. I hope everyone has a great Friday.:goodvibes :goodvibes I am really gonna try to make it to chat tonight. :)

Good Morning America said that KY ranks #48 as being one of the most depressed states. That's depressing.

GMA does not know what they are talking about. The average American is in the top 8% in annual earnings on the PLANET with annual earnings of $28,567 (all Americans above age 15 in 2006 ). And being considered "ranked" in some respects is no indication how one might be ranked in other respects. Consider the following:

Kentucky Facts
State Capital
Frankfort became the capital in 1792 after pledging more manpower toward the construction of a statehouse than any other city. During the Civil War, Frankfort was the only Union capital occupied by Confederate troops.

Frankfort is located astride a double curve in the Kentucky River in the central portion of the state and is known for having one of the most beautiful capital buildings in the country. Frankfort’s population is slightly less than 30,000.

Economy
Kentucky’s Gross State Product (GSP) increased to a record $128.98 billion during 2003. Kentucky’s GSP for 2002 was $122.28 billion. The largest industry groups, based on their contribution to the total state gross product are: manufacturing; services; government; insurance and real estate; retail trade; transportation and public utilities; wholesale trade; construction; mining; farming and agricultural services, forestry, and fisheries. For more information, please visit the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development web site.

Agriculture
Kentucky had 84,000 farms in 2005, according to the Kentucky field office of the National Agricultural Statistics Service. Kentucky farm size averaged 164 acres.

In 2004, Kentucky set a record for farm income with $4.13 billion. Horses were the leading source of farm income for Kentucky farmers, followed by broilers, cattle, tobacco, soybeans and corn. Kentucky is home to some of the world’s leading thoroughbred farms and thoroughbred auctions.

Kentucky still leads the nation in burley tobacco production, even though the federal tobacco price support program was discontinued in 2005. The state is second in the U.S. in total tobacco production and is in the top 20 in corn, soybeans, winter wheat, hay, barley and sorghum.

Kentucky is the leading beef cattle state east of the Mississippi River and is eighth in the nation overall. Kentucky is seventh in broilers and in the top 20 in goats, dairy cows, swine and chickens other than commercial broilers. For more information about Kentucky agriculture, visit the Kentucky Department of Agriculture web site.

Geography
Located in the south central United States along the west side of the Appalachian Mountains, Kentucky ranks 37th in land size, with 39,732 square miles (102,907 square kilometers). The Commonwealth is bordered by seven states: Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, Missouri and Illinois. The Ohio River flows 664 miles (1,068 kilometers) along the northern and western borders of the state. Kentucky's highest point is Black Mountain in Harlan County, 4,145 feet (1,264 meters) above sea level; its lowest point, the Mississippi River in Fulton County , 257 feet (78 meters) above sea level.

Natural Resources
Kentucky has more miles of running water than any other state except Alaska. The numerous rivers and water impoundments provide 1,100 commercially navigable miles (1,770 kilometers).

Kentucky has 12.7 million acres of commercial forest land - 50% of the state's land area. The main species of trees are white oak, red oak, walnut, yellow poplar, beech, sugar maple, white ash and hickory. Kentucky ranks third among hardwood producing states.

The total value of Kentucky's mineral production in 1999 was $3.8 billion. Principal minerals and by-products produced in order of value are coal, crushed stone, natural gas and petroleum. Kentucky is the nation's third largest coal producer - 152.4 million tons in 1996.

Population
In 2000, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, Kentucky's population was 4,041,769

Among some favorable statistics I found are that KY is well ahead of the national average for home ownership with 70.8% versus 66.2% in 2000. Also, folks in KY are somewhat more independent apparently with fewer persons per houshold than the average in the USA with 2.47 versus 2.59 in 2000.

Other curious 2006 comparisons. California employed 8.9x the number of people (legally) while our unemployed ranks were equal to 45.7% of the total number employed in KY. While Kentucky employed more than 3x the number of people compared to Hawaii. And KY employed significantly more then 3x the number employed in Alaska, Deleware, D.C., Montana, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota and Vermont. In Kentucky's #1 employment sector - manufacturing they ranked 21st in the nation employing 261,400 persons.

And not to neglect a sensitive issue of personal income. Although it is not within the first quintiel - Kentucky ranks greater or within 1% of of the per capita personal income levels of 8 states. IE, KY personal income is $28,317 and 8 states had 101% of this level = 28,600 or less. And if we were to consider how many states are within 110% ($31,148) or less of Kentuckys' PCIncome level as being similar in standing then the number grows to 20. And if were to consider how many states had 120% or less of Kentuckys' income (33,900) then the number grows to 29.

Remember, the national average income is only $28,567 which is only $250 more then the average in Kentucky... so to say Kentuckians are in the most depressed state is a rediculous and insensitive statement... IMO. Rather, I would consider folks in HIGH COST states who earn average incomes to be really struggling. The disparity between average incomes and that which is necessary to achieve nominal lifestyles is more extreme. I see folks really struggling and fustrated in some parts of California - while for example in Hawaii there is more happiness in general. Maybe this is itself a rediculous SUBJECTIVE observation... and yeah ... it is. But it is still a noteworthy observation.

So 54% of the states are within 20% or less of Kentucky's income level. And 40% are within 10% or less of Kentucky's income level. I could easily consider a state with 20% or 10% greater income as being about the same to slightly varying degrees. And 16% of the states have the exact same or less income levels of Kentucky (101% or less). AND ... the final consideration - restated here because it rings so true... the average person in Kentucky (or anywhere in the USA) ranks in the top 8% in global income. AND ... if you happen to earn $47,500 then you would rank precisely at the top 1% of the world! And at $100,000 you're at the top 0.66% of the world. And... $150,000 puts you at the top 0.33% of the world.

AND FINALLY... if you earn $198,936 then you are right at the top 0.01% of the world. Or the top earner on average among 10,000 on the planet. I know, that does not seem like much but it is if you pause to consider. And even among the average Americans - a working couple sits at the top among 25 on average in the global population.

Anyone wanna guess how many of my statements are made up or drawn in error? Well... the global income calculator was drawn from

¹ 2003 world population Data Sheet of the Population Reference Bureau.
² Steven Mosher, president of the population research institute, CNN, October 13, 1999.
³ Milanovic, Branco. "True World Income Distribution, 1988 and 1993: First calculations based on household surveys alone", World Bank Development Research Group, November 2000, page 30.

However, the US census data is considered reliable.

Am I so strange to find this sort of information to be of interest?
