Sorry, I'm taking it !!!!

I think that "Wenches only" sign is going to become an icon of this cruise . . . we will see lots of magnets with this on it, I predict! On the July 28 Med cruise our big icon was a photoshopped version of Michealangelo's creation of Adam from the Sistene with God handing Adam a roll of toilet paper (see below: this had to do with a lengthy obsession on that thread regarding whether you needed to bring your own in Europe). I ended up with two of those magnets!

This morning there was a 7.3 earthquake in the Carribean! Here's a link to the article = http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5h...XszrgD8T7HAIO0

Powerful Earthquake Hits Caribbean
near noon time

ROSEAU, Dominica (AP) — A powerful earthquake rocked the eastern Caribbean on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. No damage was immediately reported.

The earthquake, with a magnitude of 7.3, was centered 23 miles southeast of Roseau, the capital of Dominica, where the shaking lasted for about 20 seconds. The quake was felt as far away as Puerto Rico.

The quake struck at 2 p.m. EST at a depth of 90 miles beneath the surface of the Earth, according to the geological survey's Web site.

I had NOTHING to do with it. Instead ... note that I am redirecting your attention in Julies' general direction out in NYC! I know... you may have your doubts but ... you just keep a wary eye on her. She can be devious if you don't watch you back!

I hear they have him in surfer clothes or something at DCA . . . one of our SoCal friends could probably even post a picture.

Well this Northern CA'er has a Santa on a surfboard that when a button is pushed the Beach Boys sing one of their surfer christmas songs, and Santa's surf board moves back and forth. Isn't that like what like Santa wears in like CA. ;)

I'm not in the Eastern Caribbean right now -- I swear! I'm in Manhattan!

My understanding is that there are a lot more earthquakes near Crash than near me . . .

(Not that I'm not devious . . . just pretty powerless when it comes to earthquakes . . .)

That sounds right -- I've never been at DL for Christmas but plan to be there just after Christmas this year and have been researching what is different for the holidays. A surfin' Santa would be something to see!

That was a pretty bad one, in the Martinique region.

Oh, you have to see WDW and the Magic at Christmas time. We were there TWO years ago and it was spectacular! My favorite part was going to all the Disney hotels and seeing how they were dressed up. We particularly liked the Grand Floridian. They had a HUGE gingerbread house INSIDE. The CMs were selling gingerbread and other goodies from INSIDE the gingerbread house.

Being on the Magic at Christmas time was so special. I had always wanted to see CC dressed up for Christmas. My kids got a kick out of the "snow" everywhere.

Hope that helps with the research!

I didn't realize they had earthquakes in the Caribbean. Seems like there are earthquakes everywhere nowadays. . .(except Virginia of course . . .)

When I used to travel to CA a lot, I kept hoping to see what a earthquake was like . . just a little mild shaking . . .

Has anyone been through an earthquake?

Thanks, Theresa! I have been to WDW many times during the holidays (just last year for several days before and after New Year's, for example) and I agree with you that it is truly magical. It's DL in California that I haven't seen during the holidays, and from what I can tell there are lots of different holiday traditions there. As for the Disney Magic and CC, that I've never seen either, but luckily I have the New Year's cruise booked for 2008 (going into 2009!) and I understand everything is still decorated then . . .

Seriously, no one does the holidays like Disney . . .:santa: :santa: :santa:

Believe it or not, we get little ones occasionally in NYC and there is a fault line under Manhattan . . . a few months after 9/11 there was one big enough to wake me up. But it was subtle -- I honestly thought there had been another attack rather than feeling as if it was an earthquake. It was nothing compared to the big ones they get other places, though. I wonder if there are any fault lines under Virginia? I know there's a big one in the midwest -- Missouri or something.

I didn't realize that there were earthquakes in the Caribbean, either, but when you think about it there are volcanoes (Montserrat, for example), and they are all related to the same underlying issues with the earth's crust, so it makes sense . . .

Howdy Crew - Just popping in for a joke. Then gotta run to a kindergarten parent evening - we're making advent calendars.

There was once a pirate who wanted to be a Private Eye. Unfortunately, he was blind. So what did he become?

It's been a busy couple of week - lots of travel for work this week. Sheez I hope I can ketchup this weekend.

Dang! I am bad luck. I walked in the living room and was shocked to see Da Boys up by 10. I leave and the Cowboys score again and I come back and Green Bay scores. Needless to say, I am staying out of the living room. ;)

And below is a relatively large animation file (600K and roughly 2x my usual personal limit and 6x larger then the animation above) but I am including it because of the special merit it enjoys - plus I figure I've got some stiff competition from Cheryl since she's discovered the power of the "FORCE" with her new high speed connection. < chuckles > And Cheryl, remember as Yoda once said "... beware the power of the Dark side... consume you it will...". Of course, I am the one with the imported Pre-Vader Dark side Anakin costume:

Ok the past couple of days we have been putting up our xmas decorations.. let me know what you think

Liz the decorations are beautiful.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I have finally met someone as sick as I am.;) ;)

You might have been reading the 'When will the '09 prices come out' thread, but if you haven't, many posters now have called DCL and they say the trips for 2009 will be out within the next 7 days.

On caller was told as early as Monday next week, no later than Friday!

Reports also say ALL 09 will come out at the same time, they have never done that before but a consistent message coming through.

Worth keeping an eye out on the 09 Thread and the DCL website, it has gone down, they maybe working on updating it read for next week, look out for LINK's maybe not connected, on new ports, and Itineraries.

Just make sure you pm me if something looks really good. :goodvibes

Any news on any of your tests results yet???:confused3 :confused3 :flower3:

Gulp... now if you're gonna be there I'll have to be EXTRA careful ta watch my back. Especially if we have a mini-meet. :lmao:

Now I have to get back to work. Time for end of year performance evaluations. I have two yet to do this week. And I was just told I can't spend any more money this year as we are already overspent for the year. So I guess I turn off all the lights for the rest of 2007.:confused3

Not exactly surfer clothes. I think he'd be better in red shorts rather than the regular pants. But it is weird to see him playing in the sand rather than snow.

Native Californian here. Yep, felt tons of them. From the barely noticeable to the rocking and rolling ones. Doesn't even phase me anymore.

Dang! I am bad luck. I walked in the living room and was shocked to see Da Boys up by 10. I leave and the Cowboys score again and I come back and Green Bay scores. Needless to say, I am staying out of the living room. ;)

At least you can WATCH the game. My son is really upset that we don't have the NFL Network. So he's decided to play his Madden game on Gamecube. Trying to sort of simulate the game.
