Welcome back, M! How's the new job? Do the boys like their new school?

I'm sure we will miss them, but DH and I hardly ever get to spend time together, and we never really had a honeymoon, so we are looking so forward to having us time. I'm sure the kids will miss us, but Grandma is coming down to stay with them, so they will be spoiled rotten while we are gone, and knowing the way MIL cooks they will probably gain as much weight as we will. Plus with both of them will be in school, so there is no way they will be able to go.
We try to take a vacation just DH and I every other year or so (it will be about 4 years since we have been able to do this come this cruise.), so the kids understand, and like I said GRANDMA IS COMING!
But when we get to Florida, my DH will be getting off and my sister and I will be cruising the 5 dayer afterward, so technically I won't get to see my kids for 20 days! I think I better start saving some money just for the internet and possibly the out of country fees on the cell phone.

I am sure the kids will have a blast! My parents used to go on a trip every year and leave me with Grandma and Grandpa. I loved it! In fact, I don't even remember where they went, because I got grandma!

I think my kids would be happy for us to go too, luckily for us, it is a state law that public schools can't start before Labor Day so we won't have to miss any. It sounds like a great "Honeymoon" for you guys. Just 20 years later! :)

We have 5 children, also! But, ours are spread aprt in age 27ds, 24dd (getting married next month in Cancun), 16dd, 9ds & 6dd --- and yes they allhave the same mom and dad! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

So, nice to met you! And Ihave to skip pages many weeks! LOL! I homeschool our youngest 3 children -- I homeschooled our oldest two.

That first quote is so funny. I remember seeing some of your posts during my marathon page skipping event and thinking that your kids were quite far apart and I did indeed wonder if it was a blended family.

OMG, you homeschool? I love having my kids around and I have often wondered about doing that, but they are all doing quite well and seem to enjoy school so very much, that I don't think it would work for our situation.

What made you decide to do it? Also, now that the older kids are grown and out in the real world, have they had any problems adjusting to it?

Just wondering!

good evening everyone! time seems to be flying, and i seem to lose track of this thread. i feel like i haven't been on it in a while. i stop to say hi, and then i disappear. sorry about that! is there anything new going on here? looks like we have some new posters? hello to all who are new!
hope everyone is having a great weekend! we are having a very wet one...our street was just flooded out a few hours ago...it wasn't pretty! lots of branches down in town. and the storm is still going! hope it ends soon!

Good luck with the rain! We had 10 days of massive rainstorms a few weeks ago. YUCK! Now we are paying for it with all the mosquitoes! :scared1:

Thanks for the hello too!

Poohmom :hippie:

PS, we have those same outfits! I hope they fit the kids still for the cruise! I may have to borrow one of yours as the little one will NOT still fit in hers!

Wow - 5 kids! I can barely keep up with the one we have (currently age 4). Sounds like they all get along though, and that's got to help.

Hi Sarangel.

The big kids help out so much. So many people say "you are so lucky to have all those helpers" and the like. Every once in a while, I do feel the need to remind them that at one time, I had 3 kids under the age of 3 all in diapers. So I did my time and I think I earned a little bit of help this go round.

Since I am mostly new, here is a little bit about me:

My family is me, just turned 37. DH, 38. DS15, DD13, DS12, DD10, DD2.

We are a pretty close knit family and we are all having a blast with our late addition. Little Jessie (DD2)is a super happy friendly, funny girl and is completely spoiled by the big kids.

We love to travel. Our trips in 2007 have included a ski trip to Whistler, Spring break in San Francisco and then we took the train down to Disneyland for 4 days. Our summer trip was to Yellowstone (this was our first driving trip since we had little one #5) Stuffing all of us in the minivan and driving 2500 miles (55 hours in the car) was an absolute blast! The kids are getting so big and it was a lot harder to fit us all in the van. With some strategic packing and the car top carrier, I managed to fit all of our stuff for 10 days. I kind of figured that this was practice packing for our Panama canal trip. But as I reminded my husband, we didn't need to pack formal clothes and nice outfits for dinner for this trip. So I have NO idea how we are going to accomplish that for the cruise. We will probably have to take 2 vans to the airport. How crazy is that!

We are going to WDW for an extended weekend at the end of Sept. Only one of the kids know, it is for my daughter's 14th birthday and EPCOTs 25th birthday and to have our first visit 'HOME' as we just joined DVC this year. We are staying at Animal Kingdom Villas. I think I am going to tell the kids I am picking them up early from school for their flu shots and instead, take them to the airport. Is that evil???

Then we are taking my MIL and FIL to Mexico for my MIL's 60th birthday in November. That will be so relaxing compared to every other trip we have done lately.

Next, I just found out that my son's band will be participating in Disney Music Days in March 2008. So we of course will have to go down and watch him. How exciting for the band!!!!! (and a great excuse for us to go down again so soon!).

Then of course, it is the TOAL! I can't wait!

We have done 4 Disney Cruises before and even the teenagers are fine with leaving their friends for that long because they love the cruises that much!

Nice to re meet y'all!

Thank you

Okay, I haven't been here in months! I was trying to do some Ketchup, of course, totally impossible, so I started clicking on random pages to see what everyone was up to. But here is the funny part, I clicked on a page where Crash was trying to get Andrew from UK to get some lottery tickets for him. Then, the very next page I clicked on (probably 10+ pages later), was a huge "CONGRATS ANDREW" with fireworks, then, just below that was a Congrats Andrew again. So for a short while, I thought you guys had won big in the UK lottery. It turns out that it was for Andrew's 11,000th post. Oops!

I just had to share that, as I know I would forget by the time I got slightly caught up.

Poohmom :hippie:

I think Andrew is gonna collect a few pesos eventuallly from me (or at least a Mickey bar) - unless he hits the lottery...then he'll owe me something we can dance a jig about!

Also, has anyone else thought that we are going to need our own Navigator? Not having access to a copier onboard, I thing we might need something that covers the whole cruise. What Pirate activities are when, who volunteered to be in charge, where to meet, etc. I think I can put something like that together a week or so before the cruise & put a .pdf on the site for everyone to download and print before they leave. Just a thought - we have 11 months to decide.

For those of you who made it to the end of this post...I salute you!

Welcome back, congrats on job, glad it is what you like/want.

Pirates Navigator...hmmmmm..... possible, not too hard if we keep webpage updated.

Morning folks!

Dumb question... how long does it take for a postcard mailed from CC take to get to the US?

Its been nearly two weeks and no postcard...

The last time we sent postcards home from CC it took about 3 weeks to arrive. I've heard some people say it took a few months for their postcards to arrive, and others said, their postcards never arrived. Good Luck!!!
