Todd,
I've got to show these to Paul - he's still "researching" his pirate costume and experimenting w/his "facial hair" - he's going to Love these shirts!!!

BTW - is Melissa interested in a Ladies Brunch or Afternoon Tea on our Transatlantic??? Love to have her join us on the 25th.

And I'm back to talking to myself...

Surely there's someone else out there.

Here's a picture of one of favorites. She's 42" tall.

What do you mean researching?

30 posts to go & I'm the only one upholding the honor of fluff?

What's the world coming to?

I am here!!!! I did not realize that a pirate is close!!!:goodvibes

68972 + 28 = 69000, unless I'm very much mistaken.

Oh he's looking into historical pirates and their clothing. He was so impressed by Todd's costume he was inspired. I thought he should just stick w/POC stuff. But ...he's getting carried away!! My costume is so plain - if does go too nuts I might just have to check into wench's garb also!!

Historical costuming was my major in college: I made 10 evening gowns from 1850 to 1940 - one for each decade.

The golden age of pirates is the 1750's, so he can start there & work his way towards fantasy (which most of POC is)

Show us the pitures!!!!!! Sounds like you have talent!!!

We had a very rare occurrence in our household tonight - I cooked!!!!
We have eaten out virtually every lunch and dinner for 2 months- and no, we did not get sick of it. :) Dallas has a gazillion restaurants. At one point there were more restaurants per capita in Dallas than anywhere else in the country.

I kept getting these emails from a cooking site and I finally opened one and loe and behold, they were recipes. Go figure. The one that caught my eye was fajitas. After 3 trips to the grocery store, I finally only had to borrow 1 item from my neighbor.:)
2 burned fingers later, the fajitas were GREAT!
The house we bought 3 years ago has a very large kitchen w/ granite on every surface and half the walls. It really is a cooks dream- if any of us were actually cooks that is.
For a Christmas party I am going to pay my professional trained chef friend to come over and show a few other friends how to make the incredible Christmas goodies she makes. Thanks to the Budget Board I am now the proud owner of 2 new stand mixers. Never mind that I already had a stand mixer- this one was on SALE!!
Who can resist that word. :rotfl2: Anyway, at least that will put my kitchen to work.

How wonderful that you tried doing something relatively new!

I enjoy cooking to a point - and suirprisingly I don't mind cleaning up afterwards!

However, we could use a kitchen remodeling - and possible expansion. Oh well - when we'll get around to that - I don't know.

On monday I think we're gonna sign a contract to install a 2.8KW solar photovaltic system in. We decided to go with a quality professional as opposed to wing it with ME self installing it with my contracting friend. Besides, I negotiated a 20-25% reduction in price for against the original offer - plus I had him throw in a double capacity inverter so when it wears out in 15 years I'll NOT have to replace it - but rather switch the circuit from the one in use to the half that has not been used for 15 years! Thus saving about $3000-4000 in 2007 dollars by avoiding the replcement of it then. Or - if we decide we need to increase our power generation in the future then we can just add panels without buying another inverter. PLUS, the panels we're going with are a slick and innovative design with slightly greater efficiency. The silver solder collection grid is on the REVERSE of the cells so as to not obstruct as much light - and the entire system is positive grounded as opposed to negative - so as to draw electrons off the panels with less resistance. And i had him throw in a CAT 5 hookup so I can monitor (and allow remote monitoring for their occasional diagnostics) the systems performance on my computer.

So anyways - the other day we informed my spouses' company that we would accept thier offer to replace her next company car with a hybred Ford SUV. I figure this is a low risk way for us to evaluate the viability of drive a hybred long term. If its' any good then we'll buy it when it's up for replacement in about 2 years - and I would then add a solar array on top to extend the range and duration of use! I've seen a solar powered Prius and its' pretty extreme!

We figure consrrvatively that our worst case break even is just over 15 years out - but with any rate increases it would cut the break even porportionally. IE, a 25% rate increase would give us a probable and conservative 12 year break even point. And we expect in the next decade to see at least a 25% bump. In some parts of the nation they have seen a 70% increase in power rates over the past 2 years. AND we already hqave something like a 15% increase being phased in - in our area. We've factored this into our current 15-16 year pay back calculation.

Simply put - our array is costing $14,900 net (or $12,900 net if the US GOvt. passes the new legislation proposed increasing the residential tax credit from $2K to $4K). And we figure on getting 75% of our bill elimenated at $1,200 in current expenses a year. Get it - "current".... at any rate.... we save about $900 a year - and against $14,900 this will mean we have 16 years to go with no changes.

We do hope to build an additon with an updated central heating system while ADDING central air. Plus I have a long shot idea of installing one of those swim in place mini-lap pools. AND I am going to build my cabanna - that will add a little power usage - especially with the kids getting older and getting more sophisticated. This would all increase our power usage and make the case for a larger array real. Assuming that our experience at that point validates the residential power generation concept.

The tea is potentially on the 27th - and 28 Ladies have signed on but the brunch is only 14 total in Pao private room. 2 Palo's in one day is good!!! goes right along w/your upgrade - by the way am I invited to enjoy a glass of wine on your veranda????

Cheryl, did you notice that your tag says OBD and then Obsessive Mouse Disorder? Shouldn't it be OMD?
