What's funny is that the age (turning ##, whatever it is) doesn't bother me. I had fun turning 30. "Look at me, I'm 30!"

ITA.....the numbers don't bother me at all either. Dh just turned 39 and I will be 39 in a month and we just keep saying to each other..."Can you believe we are almost 40??" But we are dorks and still find childish things very funny. It's like we are continuing to age, but never "grew up" past the age of 25!

Oh, and I meant to tell you congrats on your job as well.....must be a relief!

Hee hee! My "baby" will be 15 for the cruise! I am a bit older than most I guess! But I just loooove Disney! And my youngest loves to travel and is a good sport about doing family things.

I never even thought about getting used to the time change; what a great idea!

My DS will be 15 at cruise time.

My son will be 16 when we cruise.

A quick check in from Barcelona Airport, after a fabulous cruise on the Magic.

Those 11 days went so fast.

The ship great as ever, the ports fantastic so much to do, so little time.

From touring Naples Sorrento Amalfi drive, Pompeii, to touring Rome, to a train ride in Sardinia, and a picnic lunch, to Florence so stunning, and a climb of Pisa, To Provence and Cassis, the cliff coastline, and Monte Carlo Nice and Villafrance.

Little time on ship, but the shows all great Disney dreams enhanced with 'snow' and Lion king Puma and Crush in the under the sea bit, to When Mickey dreams a great new aerobic show, the art of the story, was good but needs a little work.

Menes very good service in Palo great though scones for afternoon tea a little flat.

Weather great until last sea day, rough seas blowing a gale, sunny am then goofy pool and deck 4 closed off. Rain on arrival in Barcelona today.

Servers great, our Cruise director was Brent, more of a manager than the other CD's I feel.

Ship was full but they handled lines well.

Sounds like you all had a great time.

I've seen several rumors of the Magic heading back to the Med in 2009. If so, I know what Tyreak's high school graduation present will be. :boat: :sail:

I would suggest that everyone who got the e-mail today send a reply or forward to Joseph talking about what a great company they are, how we just wanted a better explaination or a partial credit and this was so far above what we expected.....

Can't hurt to reinforce their decision so they don't find ways to make up the $$ on the cruise.

Unfortunately I can always find ways to spend $$$! :rotfl:

I'm glad to see that the $100 "tax" has been resolved. I would be totally oblivious without the Dis (go ahead Tom, comment...). I don't think all of our mail has caught up to us & I didn't get any e-mails from DCL or my TA.

Crash, can't believe she is daring you to comment (I would certainly never make any smart add comments.....):rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I don't FEEL like I'm having a crisis (midlife or otherwise), but I can certainly understand that someone may look at my life during the last few months and think that!

I thought it was all just a "Oh God! I have to pack up everything and move across the country again!" mental health adjustment. Sounds much better than a premature mid-life crisis.:lmao:

Welcome back to DIS-land

I'm glad to see that the $100 "tax" has been resolved. I would be totally oblivious without the Dis (go ahead Tom, comment...). I didn't get any e-mails from DCL or my TA.

me too. glad it was resolved but it is funny that I didn't have a word from anyone other than the DIS about this..

Arlene- happy birthday a bit late..

I am gonna ketchup soon after I do the work email thing.. see ya real soon..

I'm hoping for an address to port so I can send our formal clothes and Pirate costumes ahead.

My DS will be 15 at cruise time.
Hmmm my DD will be turning 15 on cruise.

My DD will be 15 also.... ok that's 3 girls ... 2 boys so far

What's funny is that the age (turning ##, whatever it is) doesn't bother me. I had fun turning 30. "Look at me, I'm 30!" DH was a wreck at 25, but he's been fine ever since.

I got married young (21), had my kids young-ish (25 & 27).

The age kinda bothers me but since DH will always be older, i'm more ok with it.

25 for me was a horror show...i cried. (i hated where we lived. DH was away alot. DD was a handful. I hated my job and it wasn't even in my field. But do to where we lived at the time, i had no choice.)

30 was slightly better. (We had just moved to DC and i was working in my field [and not as an admin person], albiet i left that company pretty quick, and i had a brand new honda civic. I still felt as if i had been jipped of 9 yrs.

At least now 5 yrs later...we're a little more settled, slightly poorer (cause everything in this area just costs so much and the disney trips don't help either) And i kinda like my job. (at least today)

I had DD a little too soon (at 20). God has a strange sense of humor, the docs had her conception date as my 20th b-day. (Yet stragely i wasn't near my DH that weekend. I was on an orienteering trip for a college class. So she's my immaculate conception.;) right...)

I know i'm still young enough to have more kids..i just feel too old to start all over again. When Abby was a pup 2 years ago, that was trying enough for me. She was like an infant and we didn't get much sleep those first few months. :upsidedow

Good morning from soggy Boston! It is RAINING!!!! Still hot too! Yuck!

FYI: I was at Claire's yesterday and they have an entire PotC section. Necklaces, medallions, rings etc. Maybe watch for a sale or clearance!

ANDREW: welcome back...glad you had a great time (is there a way to have a bad time on a Dis Cruise?)

$100tx:My TA never got "official" word of the charge so she never passed on to us...glad to know it seems to be "dissolved"!

Lor

Thats our plan too JetBlue out of JFK to Long Beach, Take a cab to a hotel near DL than cab it back to the airport for the Disney Transportaion to port. Nothing official yet, since gotta wait for JetBlue to release their schedule. Was thinking maybe a late night flight Thursday, And we would have Fri Sat at DL.

FYI - rather than cab back to the airport for Disney transfer - Julie (bellelinus) & I are looking into buses to the port for everyone that's staying at DL - be less expensive than cab + Disney.

And - PD & prayers that you hear good news!

Just make sure they have enough room for the luggage:scared1: By the way add another airline to the mix. Sadly it won't work for me. Virgin America has nonstop from JFK to LAX and I plugged ina Sept date, 129.00. The service on Virgin when I went to London was pretty good.here is the link

Are YJ's more painful than other "stingers"? just curious. Because it really did hurt- it was like someone was cutting my arm off or something. LOL :lmao: It was quite a shock. I didn't think it would hurt like that. I thought it would be similar to like a fire ant- the kinds we get down here that sting

Yes they hurt like ****. Iam very sensitive to any stings. The last time I got stung it was on my little finger and the whole hand blew up. Had to constantly soak it and it took close to a week for the swelling to go down.Benedryl helped but the itching drove me nuts. Someone told me after the fact to put a paste of meat tenderizer on it.But I think it needs to be done at the time of the bite or sting.

me too. glad it was resolved but it is funny that I didn't have a word from anyone other than the DIS about this..

Could the Sara being quoted be our Sara????

I just turned 38yrs old and I went ALL MY LIFE without being stung by a bee and he got me stung by a yellow jacket tonight! I had no idea those hurt so much! Actually it stung me twice... or else there were 2 of them and I only saw one.

:sad1:

Sorry to hear about your awful stings BIP. As a kid I got stung multiple times by Yellowjackets and yes they are very painful. Hope you get better soon. :grouphug:

Sorry to hear about the stings. I know they can be quite painful.

My son got stung 27 times by yellow jackets....well 27 was the number of spots we could count. Poor guy, he expected nests to be hanging, so when he found a cave like thing at the base of one of my mom's planters, he decided to destroy it :sad2: . Good thing he wasn't alergic.

I got mine from Dreams!! Did you book with DCL and switch to TA???:confused3
Not yet. I booked direct (yay OBC) and will switch to Dreams before our final payoff. I like to be able to keep track of my ressie for a while.

Thanks for the article. It was on the back of my mind to look for it today, but just hadn't gotten around to it.

I'm glad it was explained that the toll was reaplacing the tonnage calculation. That was really misleading from the blog yesterday which made it sound as if Disney was paying the whole thing. Although the quote from DCL in the article does still maintain that DCL did not charge us the tonnage toll. Guess we'll never really know.

Great great cruise so nice to have the Magic in the Med all weather fine until yesterday, was very hot,

Now whoose for

NORTHERN EUROPE in 2009????
Interesting. But Alaska cruises would make me happier. LOL

Same here. Sometimes I totally forget how old I am because I don't FEEL that old. It's hard for me to imagine being the same age my MOM was when I got married at age 20. LOL But I'm gaining on that age (next year).

My DD will be 15 also.... ok that's 3 girls ... 2 boys so far

The age kinda bothers me but since DH will always be older, i'm more ok with it.

Is the 3 girls counting my "almost" 15yr old on the cruise? Just curious. LOL

The age thing never has really bothered me- but maybe it is because DH is 2yrs older so neener neener... he's always older than me! LOL But age doesn't really bother me. I don't FEEL that old- atleast most of the time I don't. In fact age bothers me so little I completely tried to add a year on this year without realizing it! I started saying I was going to be 39 this year/40 shortly before our cruise next year. What a weirdo- I turned 38 this July.... ever heard of a woman saying she's a year OLDER than she really is? Well that's what I did.. haha

Yes they hurt like ****. Iam very sensitive to any stings. The last time I got stung it was on my little finger and the whole hand blew up. Man, I really didn't think it would hurt that bad. My arm is a little swollen still (the stings are in the area just below elbow) and it's my LEFT arm and guess what- I'm LEFT handed. *sigh* Figures doesn't it?

Sorry to hear about the stings. I know they can be quite painful.

My son got stung 27 times by yellow jackets....well 27 was the number of spots we could count. Poor guy, he expected nests to be hanging, so when he found a cave like thing at the base of one of my mom's planters, he decided to destroy it :sad2: . Good thing he wasn't alergic.

OMG... 27 times had to hurt like nobody's business! I can't imagine! I was only stung twice (apparently by the same YJ)- I cannot imagine being stung 27 times. :( It is amazing how "those of the bee type persuasion- of all kinds" can fit so many in little nests. I've gone to spray and destroy some around the top of the outside of our garage there and I'm always amazed at how many come flying out of that little bitty nest. I don't know how they get so many in there!

They may not charge us as a seperate port charge but if you believe them that they didn't factor this in for the fare, I have some oceanfront property in Arizona I'd like to sell you.... ;)

I had my last 2 children when I was 35 (almost 36) and 39. :goodvibes

Our kids are spaced really far apart -- God's plan, not ours. I had our first child at 17, 2nd at 21, 3 at 28, 4 at 35 and 5 at 39. BTW all the kids have the same MOM and DAD. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I didn't think it would hurt like that. I thought it would be similar to like a fire ant- the kinds we get down here that sting and hurt.

But anyway he's even MORE in the doghouse now. He's already asleep and I waited until the kids went to sleep to go to the store- because it seems we're almost out of milk and no one told me we were out of bread either (the last must have been eaten at lunch or something)- so we need milk and bread. I was going to run to the store for that but... I get out there to realize Jeff has already hooked up the flatbed trailer (full of the wood scraps, panels, poles, etc. from the dogrun he tore down back there) and he's parked in the drive with the flatbed trailer attached to his vehicle- so I can't even get out of the garage! (and no, I can't/won't drive his vehicle with the trailer of wood scaps just piled on there. I can drive his vehicle. and I even drove the vehicle with the flatbed trailer back over here while he drove a vehicle with the travel trailer attached- but to drive his vehicle PLUS the trailer PLUS it's full of wood scraps piled up high and sticking out all over.. no thanks. I'll end up scratching up someone's car on the side of the roads out here. It seems almost every house has atleast one vehicle parked out in front in the street- on both sides of the street! Not on our street or even our few streets that made up our subdivision but the only way OUT of this subdivision is past an area of a few more streets and all THOSE streets there is barely passable room for one vehicle, much less a trailer with wood sticking out of it- at night because of all the vehicles parked on the street. Everyone has garages- but I guess they have more vehicles than they have garage space- yanno?

So I'm stuck and can't go get milk for cereal for everyone in the morning and can't get bread either.... that stinker!

Poor BIP!!:sad2: Those yellow jackets sure do hurt!!!Like **** I was running from bees for 55 years before I got caught. I was helping my DH paint outside and a YJ flew up my pants leg and stung me. :rolleyes1 I had a fever and a huge red mark the size of a plate. Last year, I was laying outside and just got stung for no reason. It hit me right in the finger. :headache: My first reaction was to take all my rings off. It was a good thing. All my finger were swollen seconds after I got stung.:sad2: I told Doctor and she said I must be highly allergic. I now carry an Epi Pen.:thumbsup2 I think I will be chicken to use that.:rotfl:

Glad you had a MAGICical Time ....Have a safe flight home ....we will be at that airport in 7 days ...wahoo:banana:

I booked myself to get 10% flip(which I lost on the long phones calls) and on board credit too. I flipped over to DU within a week.

Yes, you are FaMOUSE!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

And ... as a Disney stockholder I would be very concerned if they are not factoring the cost of that magnitude into the prices!
