Did you say "GHIRADELLI"? I would go to DTD every night to get my "Ghiradelli".(I would say to myself, I am on vacation so there are no calories! YEH RIGHT!!! When I got home and on the scale it did not agree with my reasoning!!

Karen

Just back from a couple of days at WDW with the girls and grandkids. No matter how much I run after the kids, with a two day trip planned to WDW each week for the next four, I'll be lucky if I can stay at the same weight. Ghiradelli just calls to us. And, of course, being the good host I can't deny them the pleasure of a visit when they are here for only a month. So two sundaes down and six to go.

My dr. doesn't seem too concerned about it but I am. I have asthma and a coronary stent, Kev is diabetic. Wonder if I can go to my local State Health Dept. for these?

State or county health departments may offer immunizations. Even your personal doctor might offer many.

But your best bet for this sort of thing is going to a specialty Travel Medicine clinic www.cdc.gov/travel/travel_clinics.htm It's not that the county health clinic can't administer a shot, it's that the travel medicine clinics will have the most current information regarding your proposed itinerary. For our last international trip, I stopped at one and the doc not only gave details on what was required in terms of innoculations, but also provided a country-by-country and regional listings of adverse health conditions, prevention measures etc. Basically the type of detailed information found in CDC's Yellow Book. wwwn.cdc.gov/travel/contentYellowBook.aspx Except they'll give you something that's personalized for your itnerary.

Just my 2¢....

We're in Nashville and almost ready to stop for the night. I'll post some more tomorrow. :surfweb:

Good night!

Anyone interested in reading about the vaccinations that we have been talking about, below are links to the CDC Patient information sheets. Remember nothing is required for our trip.

Hepatitis A

Hepatitis B

Yellow Fever

The only one that might be recommended would be the Hepatitis A. Check with your doctor soon because we are coming up on one year and you will need 12 months (2 shots) for the vaccination to work.

The way I read it was "need to have by 4 weeks" before your trip. Am I not understanding it correctly?:confused3

Thank you :hippie: I did go a check out our local site and found a listing of TMC's in our area.

Oh Yeah, I totally agree with this statement!!!:thumbsup2 :woohoo:

You can get the first installment at least one month before travel, but to have full immunity you should get both vaccines (which are 6 months apart). I am just reminding people now so they have plenty of time to think about it and discuss with your physician.

Thouht I would share a few pictures of the Na Pali coast line. It was just beautiful.

Nice pictures of the Na Pali scenery... it is sometimes near surreal - and otherwise simply lush and beautiful!

Although I've been to Hawaii many times for family visits - in all the 20+ years of visits I've never been to Kaui! Maybe one day I'll make it over there!

So on another note... I just got back from Laguna Beach and the Pagent of the Masters' show. Plus eariler yesterday we had our 1st swim meet of the year. It was all great fun and quite exhausting. COmbined together it is extremely exhausting! So - we already cancelled the moring diversions in favor of plans for an afternoon at the beach with a couple of old friends and thier families. Plus I hope to get my old notebok computer back tomorrow too!

OK.... that's all I had to say about yesterday (for now). I'm gonna glance a little before I turn in... or rather, I'm watching an old rerun of Dr Who - and I'll turn in when its' done.

Paula--lovely pics........:thumbsup2

Have a safe trip home........:)

I see that Dr Who is really taking off in the USA, the current series has just ended here:sad2: and my DD7 is already missing it. She cannot believe that we will have to wait until Christmas Day for the next episode (RMS Titanic and Kykie Minogue). The Christmas episode is currently being filmed in Cardiff, Wales
(my home country).

Next weekend for my mother-in-law's 60th birthday, we are driving to Wales for her party - Steph & Cheryl from the 10 Night Southern will know how I feel about this :headache: - and whilst there we are going to Cardiff to see the permanent Dr Who exhibition. :cheer2:

On our return I will hopefully post a few pictures.

David
