Excellent !! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

What part of Wales did they leave ?

David

They were farmers from the Cardiganshire area of Wales. I think that is why they chose to settle in Iowa so they could continue the farming tradition here in the U.S.

DH said He can't get on from my computer from home . For some reason it will not let him on. ( I am innocent). As long as you drive through sometime just stop over!!!:thumbsup2 He drives from Schaumburg to Mchenry. When we were first looking at houses we almost moved to Bolingbrook. He was working in Chicago on Wertern and Belmont.

Sorry for reaching back for this one, but I remembered you and John had replied and I never responded. I don't get over your way in Schaumburg anymore (used to always be over at Barrington and Bode but now never get past Roselle).

Schaumburg to McHenry is quite a haul, too. This will be my last summer having to stop over in Schaumburg as DD graduates from her Christian school and will be going to public school in Naperville next year.

Funny you should ask, I'm either going to be known as The Coolest Dad or The Biggest Fool. Anyhow here it is: Back early in the school year I made a deal with Angelina, something we have done several times in the past, but not to this extent. Well, Angelina kept her part of the bargain and since I am a dad of my word, I did as well. Last evening, I still shutter at the thought, we took Angelina to get her reward and I am adding a pic of it below.

Now, it's time to get my ST up so she can get ready for school.

Yes, Andy...you are one cool dad!
I don't necessarily like that my oldest DD has tattoos...but it IS her body. And I DO admire the artwork:thumbsup2

Tell Angelina that I think it's pretty. Gotta love the anchor!

BTW...it looks good, not red at all...and they usually do give off some heat for a while.

Boy do I feel better about the pricing of this cruise.
I just got an email of "special deals" on Royal Caribbean. One of the cruises was a Panama Canal crossing that was 16 days. Using a comparable room I compared pricing. The RCCL cruise was only about $500.00 less than I paid for this cruise. The rooms and even the ship are not comparable at all.
I was very surprised (pleasantly :) ).

Yeah,...

... we thought the prices (that we got) were pretty "tolerable". And having heard your coments I'm going to go comparison shopping... and not be fearful of sticker shock and/or buyers remorse. But then again, how can I possibly have and reservations at sailing with DCL? :thumbsup2

Storm Troopers following Darth Vader -- same colors as the Nazis & same types of actions as the Nazis blindly following Hitler.. I'll just take their word for it -- I've never seen any of the Star Wars films. :rolleyes1

I then heard them discussing Roman History along with the Star Wars connection..... And the more you know about history.......

In case you couldn't tell I have a house of History Geeks. :rotfl: My father's degree is in History and I never hear them discussing this stuff with him! :confused3

I can't believe my eyes!!!!

I didn't think anything like this was POSSIBLE in this day and age. Especially since it's been out for 30 years now!

Neat pics.

Crash I wasn't implying any future plot lines. When I saw it in the movie, it just made me chuckle. Jack lost the BP again but got a nifty new personalized flag!

Also wondering if Todd aka Mr Details saw it.

sigh...

... OK, maybe I'm not missing anything after all.

:thumbsup2

Is that Ann Coulter?

And I'm sorry to say I don't know. I just google the images which sort-a illustrate what I'm thinkin' of. I don't actually read many captions that go with the pictures! Nor do I know what Ann Coulter looks like. OK... let me google her name....

Well... this appears to be her web site http://www.anncoulter.com/cgi-local/welcome.cgi as I cannot sort through all the wierd doctored images to see which is a real book of hers and which a parody. And from what I can gather she is (according to wikipedia) a conservative in the dual mold of "Rush L in a miniskirt". SO - I have never heard of her before (and I complain about others who have NOT seen Star Wars yet)... and of course, I've never read any of her books or witnessed her commentary on the radio or TV. Or at least... not knowingly.

But this appears to be one of her real books - and not a parody:

NOTE...

I do not seek to stir up a ruckus - I am not taking any political positions or otherwise endorsing or condemning A Coulter. AND yes... the original image I posted a doctored one of this person. I did not know who she was when I did so.

I have to agree that Steph does look younger than her years !!! :)

David

 The secret is to laugh ALOT! When you are smiling and laughing people forget to notice the wrinkles. :rotfl2:

Ibgraves -- About 5 yrs ago I realized thst I was dressing *old*! Even though I was thinner and looked better then I do now... I looked terrible in photos from wearing *older* more *frumpy* clothing!
I've tried to but a stop to that! It is work for me to go clothes shopping and pick out decent looking clothes -- I don't know where our oldest dd got that talent from! :confused3 I wish 23dd worked closer to where we live (she's an asst manager @ Ann Taylor) she was great about calling me and setting up a dressing room with outfits for me --- when there was a GREAT sale! :goodvibes

It is the "All of this will be set to an orchestral score by John Williams" that makes it art.

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I think there are only about 4 storylines in the world and they just change the names and settings! :thumbsup2

When I first made the deal with Angelina her math grade was a 59 and in danger of failing math for the year, her current math grade is an 82 and last week we found out that she has now passed math for the year. To tell you the truth, I was sure this was one deal I had in the bag. So yes, be very careful what you promise your kids because you might have to pay up.

Cool tat! I vote for Coolest Dad (for having the integrity to keep your word), and maybe a little of Biggest Fool - for not thinking it completely through. :rotfl2:

Though her accomplishment is certainly worthy of something like this. What an awesome achievement!

Depends upon the size of the ham.

I dunno we got some mighty big hams around here. I think the Captn may need his long sword.

You shouldn't reveal your secrets like that.

What!!??? You mean I can't trust 500 of my closest DIS friends to keep my secret??!!!

Esteri!

I'd like to plan the mini-meet for Saturday August 25, 2007 at poolside at the DVC Villas at the Wilderness Lodge. I'm just waiting for my DBIL to book his trip as they need to leave by August 26th to be back in NYC. His DD is starting High School and needs to be back by then.:)

Oh man! We have Fantasmic dinner ressies for that night. You're not telling me that I'm going to have to rearrange my schedule are you? :scared1:

We're at OKW - if you prefer a BBQ...

Oh! Unless we do the meet mid-day during rest time??? Pool hopping over to WLV would be fun. We've never been there and I've always wanted to check it out.

Well, let me know.

BLAST!! I'm 15 minutes late for a meeting! Gotta run!

I was actually looking/googling for something else - but I found this so interesting that I had to just post it for chuckles...

I've been to Amsterdam and the fly in the urinals is one of the last things a bloke would look at ;)

Warning bad news post so please read at your own risk! :sad2:

I hesitate to post this here, mainly because I hate bringing this thread down & you are all having such fun, but since I did let you all know that I had to fly down to Florida as soon as we got back from HHI, because my mother had yet another blockage in her heart & I think it's only fair I keep you updated. We since found out it she was inoperable due to her age (77), emphazema, etc. & unfortunately she passed away yesterday. I am truly okay & at peace, especially since I got to say my goodbyes a few weeks ago. The last time I spoke with her was on was fittingly on Mother's Day. She is in a way better place than she had been in a very long time & truly she kept saying she was tired & she just wanted to go. She was back & forth from a rehab hospital to a regular hospital. She was on her death bed one minute & fine the next. :confused3 She went back in the hospital Sunday due to congestive heart failure. They had her sitting in the chair yesterday & she asked to lay down because she was not feeling well & she died shortly after. The nurses say she passed peacefully. She is to be cremated & her remains sent up here for burial with my father. We are hoping for a graveside service next weekend so I probably won't be on much next week. But really I am fine & in fact had posted as usual yesterday, shortly after finding out. I was enjoying all the POC intrigue & didn't want to interrupt. ;)
