I used to be able to recite 50 digits of pi back in high school.

Or well, I used to say I could. After the first eight, no one else really knew if I was right or not.

Smart! ;)

I know it to 15 places...

3.14159 26535 89793 23846 26433 83279 50288 41971 69399 37510

...from memory! Google/MITMathweb doesn't count!

I know it to the 5th decimal. I have no problem remembering useless facts. The thing is, I have no idea what it means! I don't really know what pi is, or when it may be useful & frankly even if I did I wouldn't be able to do the actual math problem to come up with a correct answer! However, I do know that pi is 3.14159

Doesn't it have something to do with circles?

Or triangles?

Sweet lord!!!! Triangles?!?!?! :faint:

Hey jonesing, I grew up in Torrance! OK, so it may not be the cultural capital of California, but the butt of California :confused3 . I can think of a lot of other places that would compliment Lompoc's vapidity.

My sophomore year roommate was from Torrance. He had nothing good to say about the place! When his parents bought a house in RPV, then he suddenly got a major 'tude.

I will say one good thing about Torrance: Del Amo :thumbsup2

Hello David, if we were we would not be living in Illinois. I would be living down by the mouse. Altough Cheryl thinks she has retired. She sure acts like it.

John

You do know that she'll be reading this

Helen assures me that she will either post tonight OR send Cheryl a PM - we'll see:rolleyes1

David

I also know that the pythagorean theorem is:

a squared + b squared = c squared

and it has something to do with triangles, but I have no idea what.

But I can spell pythagorean theorem without looking it up.

Yeah, my GRE verbal score was just about double my math score.

I think.

Unless I multiplied wrong.

We too moved to RPV from Torrance when I was in 8th grade, but never saw the need for a 'tude, it was home for too many years. Yes Del Amo is very cool if you need to go shopping.

Just a quick Hi from lunch in windy city..:surfweb:

Careful - Andrew from UK sees that he might report you. ;) I fluffed posted an entire page to myself on our Med thread and he reported me to this thread. :rotfl2:

That BTW, is very hard to do! I almost gave up but I did it!

Of course if you really wanted, you could find all the fluff Andrew posted leading up to a few pirate: and report him to his med thread....

How come you yell:furious: at me when I say that?:confused3

You know there is no such thing as fitty-fifty. With DH it is 99 to one!!!:lmao: :lmao: :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: :cool1: Of course I am the 99.:goodvibes

Like that double standard the wenches have, don't ya?

Yes and we are proud of our double standards!!!!:thumbsup2 A little jealous????:cool1:

I don't think she has said. Summer is already getting busy with all the kid stuff but hopefully we can find a day to do lunch, go bowling, or something.

I think July was mentioned because we are waiting from ???? to move to Woodale. I have not seen her on the boards so she might be in the process of moving. DH and I can work around anyone's schedule excpt for Friday nights when I work. Maybe a nice luch or dinner at Sweet tomatores or Fuddruckers???? Sonewhere where we do not have to be rushed.:thumbsup2

Just stopped by for a quick hi and good morning before I start to work ..

Anytime for the get together.. are you looking at a weekend? Maybe June or ??

See above and let me know what you think Susan.:confused3

Hey LG, I enjoyed looking at your pics, very nice!!!

We just received a letter from the high school letting us know that Angelina's senior portraits will be taken on June 19th. Hazel and sat here choking up thinking about our "baby" getting ready to start her final year of high school in September. Then the reality set in when we saw the prices for the portrait packages..............

We received a second letter letting us know that Angelina will be receiving a very special award next Thursday night (5/31). From what we read, this is a "Formal Affair" for the kids. We found out that Angelina's English teacher nominated her for this award. I'll be sure to take pics.

Junior high stuff!

Let's do something practical:

Define the perigee/apogee ellipsoid field which has an inclination angle (i) of 2pi

Use Kepler if you like

I vote for Sweet Tomotoes.. anytime.. for lunch it is easier to do on a weekend due to working and end of qtr stuff.. dinner is open as long as it is not scouts or Eric graduation or finals..

depending on the homework load, I may even bring DSs who may sit at their own table and fight.. LOL:rotfl: Cheryl, I'll pm you my phone number and let's talk..
