"Listening" to all the chat here about pets, I was wondering how many of us have pets?

What kind(s) do you have?
How long have you had your pet(s)?
What is/are your pet(s) name(s)?
What will you do with your pet(s) while on the TOAL?

Ok - here's my input:

Kind of Pets: 2 Female Siberian Huskies

How Long and names: Isis :dog: (B&W one) since Dec 20, 2004. Chloe :dog2: (white one) since April 1, 2005. AKA Salt and Pepper, Devil Dog and Ghost Dog

Where will my pets go on TOAL: Heavenly Pet Resort in West Covina, CA. The Country Club where the "girls" are awesomely spoiled and eagerly awaited (hmm... wonder if the tip I leave has anything to do with that? :rotfl2: ) Nope - they want for nothing - dog run, private play time, human play time, classical music at night, French doors suite, air conditioning and misters in the dog run and if I pay for it - socializing hour and/or pool time - but of course ours are kinda :snooty: and choose to go swimming only at home.

Yes!!!!!!

Liz, I wish we could have sent you some of the rain we had during April. This was the 2nd wetest April in recorded history, in our area, with over 9" of rain last month.

Time to drive ST to school, then come home and get ready for work.........

Ahhhhh many thanks to my dear friends for missing me :grouphug:

And HC thanks for the snake cake too! Hate Snakes.....LOVE :cake: :thumbsup2

Good Thursday Morning Fellow Mateys!:surfweb:

We are preparing for the visit of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip to arrive shortly. She is here for Jamestown
400th anniversary(you know Pocahontas and John Smith). She is arriving in Richmond, VA shortly and this evening she will be arriving here in Williamsburg. My friend ands I are planning to go to Colonial Williamsburg tomorrow where she will have the most exposure for anyone to see her. Prince Phillip will be going down to Norfolk, Va to the Naval base(home of the North American fleet) for a tour and a luncheon. Traffice will be horendous here for the next four days.

Saturday morning she leaves for Louisville,KY to watch the Kentucky Derby. Then on Sunday head for Washington, DC.
Monday night there is a white tie State Dinner for her. It is a rare occasion that there is a 'WHITE TIE" usually it is black tie.

It will be a busy weekend!

Talk to you later!!!!

Karen

Good Morning All
Just took this pic of Dante and I think it shows how much better he is doing. First time in 2 days I heard him bark and he wagged his tail.:cheer2: He want's to play with his toys but he can't walk. This look is like Mom I want to play. I love seeing his personality coming back.

You are so right, if we had 2 computers, we would definitely get to talk to each other. As it is I only see her when she sticks her head out of the den to see what she is missing on tv. Then she wants a recap of what she missed.:confused3

Yes, we have copperheads and water mocs behind us. DH kills a few babies on the front porch & walkway each year. :( The biggest copperhead we have seen was 6-7 feet long. It made the mistake of trying to exit the heat pump just as the A/C kicked on. Made quite the noise outside but the unit was fine.
yikes ! My DS always wanted a snake. Just couldn't handle the thought but I did give in to him having a pet rat.:rotfl2: His name was whiskers and I had nothing to do with him. He was huge !

wow!! i'm starting to wonder if i stink:confused3 ....everyone disappears when i show up!! hellloooo????!!!!

Hi Shannon: Sorry I missed ya last night. I was watching Lost and taking care of Dante.

Good Morning to all of us early risers.

Arlene I missed you not calling Cheryl last night, she actually sat and watch the tv with me.:happytv: I kept asking her who she was.

John

I've been thinking about going back to the "purity" of coal but DW loves the instant gratification of gas cooking. Any ideas?

Gas gets my vote.:thumbsup2

Hello Everyone!!!

SHEESH......I gone almost a whole week and no one as much as even inquired about me.......oh sure :lmao:

I had to try posting at least a dozen times "Has anyone seen MR?" but the DISboards crashed, the power went out at work, my boss walked in the office, I had a flat tire, etc. I'm sure everyone else had the same types of problems.

:lmao: :lmao:

Hope all is well with you, if not, our humblest apologies for not inquiring.

Gotta love Philly International. That's why I only do carry on. I don't want anyone touching my bag except me.

Now my only problem is I can't figure out how to get 14 days of clothes into a carry on for the TOAL.

Think anyone would notice if I wore the same thing every day?

As long as you don't expect any service and don't have any problems, Philly is a great airport!!!:lmao:

Although, just from access and on-time point of view, I will take Philly any day over Newark. (plus, doesn't Newark make the headlines every few weeks for failing to detect knives, guns, bombs, rocket launchers, etc.)

Good Morning Everyone!

Hello Everyone!!!
SHEESH......I gone almost a whole week and no one as much as even inquired about me.......oh sure :lmao:

Well it was nothing more than just a funky mood that I thought I should keep to myself. My DISfriends should not see the beastly side of me until the TOAL :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Tina poor Dante...I hope he's better soon (he's really cute)

Welcome John!! So nice to have Cheryl's main squeeze among us!

Shelley I can't get back far enough to find your post, but it sounds like your much improved...so very glad!

Andy....how's the knees? Also that's great you chased the prom date away...I agree must meet the date.....if they're reluctant to do so.....the HIT THE SKIDS SUCKER!

Brack Congrats on the 57,000!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL I MISSED!!!

Tina please wish your DD a Happy Birthday from me one day late!!

Andrew sorry about the head! Feel Better soon

Lisa.......EWWWW...you know how I just HATE SNAKES ;) ;) ;) :lmao:

Kathy how was your WDW trip??

Karen you definitely have the most pets (adopted or not)

I have a lot of catching up to do but I did want to make a few comments before a read back (well as far as I can anyway)

IKWYM I've been in a funky mood too! DD had a good birthday. We went to Applebee's on Sunday and they sang to her and since her birthday on Tuesday was so busy we went to Red Robin last night and they sang to her too! I got her a digital camera and she is having so much fun with it. It wasn't that much and it's 5 mega pixels.

She was excited to see everyone's birthday wishes. For a little kid she has an ego!

Travel guru Rick Steves has this advice:
How do you fit a whole trip's worth of luggage into a carry-on bag? The answer is simple: Bring very little. Think in terms of what you can do without, not what will be handy on your trip. Pack for the best scenario and figure you'll buy yourself out of any jams.

Begin by spreading out everything you think you might need on the living room floor. Pick up each item one at a time and scrutinize it. Ask yourself, "Will I really use this snorkel and these fins enough to justify carrying them around all summer?" Not "Will I use them?" but "Will I use them enough to feel good about carrying them over the Swiss Alps?" Regardless of my budget, I would buy them in Greece and give them away before I would carry that extra weight over the Alps.

Don't pack for the worst scenario. Pack for the best scenario and simply buy yourself out of any jams. Risk shivering for a day rather than taking a heavy coat. Think in terms of what you can do without — not what will be handy on your trip. When in doubt, leave it out. I've seen people pack a whole summer's supply of deodorant, tampons, or razors, thinking they can't get them there. The world's getting really small; you can buy Dial soap, Colgate toothpaste, Tampax, Nivea cream, and Bic razors in Sicily. Tourist shops in major international hotels are a sure bet whenever you have difficulty finding some personal item. And if you can't find one of your essentials, ask yourself how 300 million Europeans can live without it.

Whether you're traveling for three weeks or three months, you should pack exactly the same. Rather than take a whole trip's supply of toiletries, take enough to get started and look forward to running out of toothpaste in Bulgaria. Then you have the perfect excuse to go into a Bulgarian department store, shop around, and pick up something you think might be toothpaste…

Yeah, riiiiiiiiight! I'll pack some small toiletries and buy replacements in Mexico, Jamaica etc but there's just some packing that MUST be done! Sorry buddy, but the whole "adventure" of backpacking across Europe and over the Alps has no appeal for me. I'm not going to look like a vagabond just to avoid looking like a tourist!

Is it me or is this just inviting a discussion of "commando"?? :lmao:
