FINALLY, THE BLONDE JOKE TO END ALL BLONDE JOKES!!

A blonde calls her boyfriend and says, "Please come over here and help me. I have a killer jigsaw puzzle, and I can't figure out how to get it started."

Her boyfriend asks, "What is it supposed to be when it's finished?"

The blonde says, "According to the picture on the box, it's a tiger."

Her boyfriend decides to go over and help with the puzzle. She lets him in and shows him where she has the puzzle spread all over the table.

He studies the pieces for a moment, then looks at the box, then turns to her and says, "First of all, no matter what we do, we're not going to be able to assemble these pieces into anything resembling a tiger."

He takes her hand and says, "Second, I want you to relax. Let's have a nice cup of tea, and then...."

He sighed.............."Let's put all the Frosted Flakes back in the box.."

Oh LOL!!! In our town in No. Cal. the town fathers decreed that cell towers cause cancer & nixed them - okay fine - so, I have only 2 spots in my home where I get signal. One time we had a disturbance - the plain clothes cops were walking up & down the street w/their cell phones trying to get a signal - thankfully it was a false alarm - however, we still have nil coverage & no DSl!!!

I thought I was the only one left in the world saying "Can You Hear Me Now?":lmao: :lmao:
At least it is getting warmer now and I can go outside to use my phone!!! :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! We just got back from Hilton Head. In hindsight I wish we didn't bother going. It was nice there, but the driving back & forth was very stressful. Especially on the way down when we hit heavy winds in the Carolinas. I did do quite a bit of the driving & actually most of the driving on the way home. Mike did get a chance to golf, we went on a dolphin cruise, we took a trip to Savannah for the day & ate at Paula Deen's restaurant, & otherwise just hung out at the pool. I never did feel really relaxed though & I think it was worrying about Mike's health & knowing we had to drive back home. Traffic was horrendous through Washington last night & through NY & most of CT today. As much as I hate flying....I've decided I hate driving so much more! :sad2:

Anyway...when it rains it pours. I hate to keep sharing nothing but bad news with you all, but I just got word that my mother suffered another heart attack. She has already had two major heart surgeries & she has emphazema which requires her to be on oxygen at all times. She is refusing treatment & has decided that she does not want to fight anymore. She has not been a happy person for a few years now & I think this is the final straw. My sisters are there with her, but the doctors say that if she is refusing breathing and other treatments, that she is not going to make it. It looks like I might be flying out to Orlando first thing tomorrow morning. I have not been close with my mother for some time now due to long standing issues, but I would not feel right if I did not have a chance to say goodbye. :guilty:

Don't know when I'll have time to catch up here, but I hope everyone is well!

I've seen folks with stubborn-like positions towards family... and now "I" have a similar stubborn "I'm not tlakin' first" position too with a couple family members... so I know how it is. Plus I lost my Mom 2 plus decades ago - except I was the primary care giver for her - so I saw others who were reacting to the illness progression in various ways. So - I can still recall how it was in those terrible times. I am saddened to hear of it - but in every seemingly dark event - there IS a silver lining ... if you squint hard and look for it. At the very least you cited that you're gonna have a chance to work through some closure on your thoughts... hopefully. If only everyone had your strength and opportunity to make amends with those who may be on their "not to mention" list.

At any rate... I believe all things have an eventual balancing out effect. If it seems things are troubled and testing now... than later things are likely to be wonderful and carefree... of that I'm sure! So there is probably something to look forward to after your return from Orlando. I don't knwo if you'll ever see this - but just in case... here were my well meaning thoughts.

I'm planning a college graduation party for my son-in-law in Las Vegas.

Oh - Captain!! - Todd, I need to talk to you - may I PM you?

Of Course, we would like to have a mini-meet w/you & family. In fact, we added an extra day just to do that!!

Christopher (s-i-l) loves Monty Python - so "Spamalot" is his grad present. We don't gamble but perhaps might go to more shows.

We're bringing the two dogs so - I've been researching lodging that is "pet friendly" - and we also have a 6 yr. old. so ........

Any one have any tips for lodging w/dogs & kids???

I found Motel 6 = pet allowed.

Okay, I'm not wealthy but I am at a point in my life where I enjoy comfort. Ya know what I mean!!!! Motel 6 just didn't do it for me

I've found a couple of places - suites w/kitchens - okay considering needs of traveling w/a 6 yr. old.

Okay - I've got a bit of time - we are going to drive on 5/31 Thurs - and drive back on Sun. 6/3. It's not that long a drive from L.A. But as a "Complusive Planner" - I want to get going on everything. As - what else to see besides Spamaot. etc. And lodging w/dogs.

Any & all help Appreciated!!!!!!!!

Chris

Hey girl --

Woodbridge is lovely, but it does pose one of the worst commutes. The good news is that you might be able to have a flex time schedule that allows you to come in early (5 or 6 AM) and leave early or come in late (around 9 AM) and leave late. I always preferred the late schedule, but my boss was at the Pentagon by 6 AM every day!

I'll ask some friends here who lived or had family in Waldorf. I can't see why you couldn't communte to Alexandria . . . it would just depend WHERE in Alexandria. If you were south it would be a bear of a drive at best.

Woodbridge is a wonderful area for kids. And you'll be close to the outlet malls in Potomac Mills. When we lived there, that was the place most of the military and friends with kids lived. It's much better than the commute from Stafford . . .LOL.

Can't wait to hear where you end up . . .:banana::banana:

Best we can tell, Woodbridge has everything we are looking for except the commute. We obviously need to make a sacrifice somewhere. I guess we're just leaning toward living in a great place and sucking up the commute.

We know DH will be able to have an early schedule, so I am hoping that when someone actually hires me, that I can negotiate a late schedule so I can be home with the kids in the morning and DH can pick them up shortly after school is over. The nice thing about my line of work is that most organizations allow for flexibility - I work 9:30-4:30 here so I don't have to send the kids to before school care.

Very nice. One of my best friends from OU and his wife (also OU) lived in Woodbridge (her family's from that area), then moved a little further south to Stafford. The husband lived on my floor in James Hall and the wife was in the 110 w/me. They credit me for hooking them up :confused3 . She's a teacher in one of the school districts, so if you need some additional input, let me know. Also, the husband grew up in Mentor and is a diehard (insert any Cleveland Pro team here) fan.

JIM HALL!!! I lived in Boyd for 2 years. I loved West Green.
My SIL is from Mentor.
The only way to be a (insert any Cleveland Pro team here) fan is to die hard!
Trust me.

I know this might be a little late, but, Congrats Lorri on post #55,000........:thumbsup2

What!!!?????

Another pirate milemarker got nabbed by a wench????

Oh... what am I complaining about? It's not as if I'm really surprised now .... am I? sigh....

Oh, thank you, thank you! I forgot who mentioned it in chat last Friday, but I just enjoyed a bowl of American Idol cake batter ice cream. YUM!

I deserved every last spoonful this weekend. My triathlon is in a month & I've only been training for 2 weeks. This weekend, I did the full distance of each event. Friday I swam 750 meters. Saturday I biked 10 miles. Today I jogged 4 miles (I really can't call what I do 'running'). I just finished my ice cream and I'm going to bed. If you don't hear from me tomorrow morning, it is because I am unable to hoist myself out of bed!

Below, this could be your mantra, eh?

You're very inspiring to me...

... with this talk of triathalon runnin'....

... I just am so out of it as any sort of athelete (can't even spell it right)

that I can only day-dream of competing like you are!

Maybe someday soon I'll get back into some sort of decent shape and get some decent exercise!

Keep it up!!!!

Just wanted to say Good Morning everyone ... I'm doing the 3am booking for my Med Cruise... Can't believe the 75 day mark is finally here. At least for the repo cruise, I can book at 90 days like the rest of you (except those lucky enough for concierge).

Take care all ...

Well...

... you should count yourself as quite lucky enough to be ON the Med sailing! I would not have objected to going - except we had a complicated picture where we were trying to do it with several other family members. And so we were assumed to be coordinating with others. And they were not all in sufficient agreement to do Disney - let alone sail with the ports involved with DClL.

At any rate, enuf of my issues... and cheers to you on your upcoming voyage!

I just got back from picking up the bunk bed + buying raw lummber to expand the size of the bunk bed to take a full sized bed + build a set of safer stairs for the bunk. Plus I picked up some computer stuff... it took the guy at the furniture store a long time to disassemble the bunk bed - and one of the employees was joking it was gonna take 2 hours for me to reassemble it. Whereupon I told him I was gonna expand it + add stairs + a house facade up front. He smiled big and said "I believe you'll do it!". That was encouraging! Overall... I am happy with the makings of a little construction project for the next 2 or 3 days. I figure I'll measure everything TWICE, cut, drill and stain everything tomorrow. I'll wait a day to let the stain set throughly and further the prep work in Js' bedroom then put it in late tuesday or wednesday. As for the facade... that will come a little later this week or next. I'm still mulling precisely how I'll design the facade.

Thanks for your encouraging words. I am beat though. All the running around and off loadin' has me slightly tired... probably more on account of my not takin' a proper lunch or breakfast.

Make sure to post some pics Crash when you are finished, can't wait to see the finished product, sounds very nice!!! ;)

Thanks for all the great birthday wishes yesterday. I was really looking forward to having some time yesterday to play ketchup on the boards.

Our day took off like a rocket & never stopped.

Hope to find some time this week.

Have a great Monday.

By the way, I'm sure you will not be surprised to find out that not one of these numbers were in the numbers drawn on 24-March-07 !!!:sad2:

David

I didn't even know there was a UK national lottery, so I am even more surprised that I won.

I need to be in the UK again soon, I think, so I may just wait and pickup my winnings in person. ;)
