M & Deanna, my DH doesn't care for dancing either....he's always good for the obligatory slow dance or two but I hate to push it beyond that.........so I definitely be meeting you guys on the dance floor! :woohoo: I do a heck of a bump and blend (oops I mean grind) :rotfl2:

BUMP AND BLEND!!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Too funny MR!

Don't forget the Cake Walk!

Well, I guess everyone is gone for the minute. May I say, it was about time that Sanjaya finally left, altho I am sorry to see him go. I will miss his shenanagans.

I an't get DH to get up let alone dance anymore :rotfl2:

I finally watched AI to see what Sanjaya was all about. See I watch once and he gets voted off.:confused3

Anybody else have problems with multi-quote????

Congrats to the new Aunt!!!!:thumbsup2

Hope the doggy is doing better.:flower3:

Are you really renting out your house in Alaska???:confused3

I hate it when I lose the quotes!

Yes, we are keeping and renting our AK house. We plan to retire here (first retirement in 6 years), so it will give us a place to live for a few years while we look for our 'forever house'. I love my house here. Of our 7 houses (in 12 years) this is by far our favorite! We can't afford to buy in DC & we want to own something, somewhere.

How sad is it that we both have professional, executive type jobs with decent pay, no debt, and can't afford a freekin' house within a 2 hour commute to DC??????

:wave2: ....guys, i thought maybe doing a "refresher post" so
everyone can see "me" better?

..we have no rooms assignments. however, we are supposed to
have 2 rooms. our plans on the 31st were as followed: we already
had a request....thru our dreams girl. then on the 31st, i was
trying for cat. 9, and never made it. so it came down to our dreams'
unlimited girl...who was able to scored! :yay: . so we have placed
a request on the aft, 7deck and 2 rooms together. however, our sons
are old enough to be themselves...it is not uncommon for us to seldom
see them unless we demand it. though they will be in their early 20's
@ the time of this cruise .."stunky teens" is a very accurate description
except keeping their junkie cars clean.

while iam doing all of the postings..alot of the times iam sharing with my
lil'miss cutie. nor am i, in possession of computer skills....though we have
one since early..90's, it has been our kids..."toy". we "dreamed" of dcl since
the 80's...but were weary of the big red boat thingy. however, my wife
have done all our cruises since 99. [ iam just now trying to figure what
the heck goings on]. of course, there's one more of us...our lil' princess: .

ok, we have done both early and late...dining, based on our current needs,
we chose late. when we do a cruise, we try to get everyone input in.
our first cruise had no plans...but in alot ways , it had many special moments.
therefore, we don't planned every day on an exact schedule. last cruise,

i really enjoyed wandering & visiting others all over the ship...using my
camera as a front....some even showed us their rooms...which was fun. *i
had no idea who this capt. crash dude was...but it was very self evident, he
was very nice and helpful to others....and totally  his wife/family.
you could tell..she tolerated his antics with lots of  . this made
sense to me.

"people watching"....i had discoverd these boards a couple of years......
but it was hard to "see" who was what...so i was really paying attention
to those on the cruise boards...as we have had some weirdo experiences
on our cruises. based on that, is why i thought i give it a whirl here. i
believe the best of the best...is here.

& then there are a few..like me. [ if i was to chose an animal..porcupine
would described me to a "tee"] yes! i like sneaking in references of what
others talking about...for fun. i also "see" alot of animal types here.

then there are the truly teddy bears..types, like mr.V...i wish i was more
like him, but atlas...my needles get in the way. * my saving grace,
was to have been blessed with finding  from a true  . though
she does possess a few ...pointers ...my guess, for balance? i mentioned,
this, cos i leaned toward interacting ...with anyone...but i truly enjoy
meeting those seeking, sharing and respecting "individuality".

culture, and experiences ..are facets that i like listening to. what i also
see here, are strong family bonds and support. and i really happy to see
others taking active roles in their community structure
...sometimes my
strong feelings will come out in a heavy presentation..sorry. this is the
way i live life..and my work is also ...in this very area. so daily, i running
into alot of the things that are popping up here...as to not mislead, iam
no expert, just expressing the input i see working.

..but being so cemented by aging, is also limiting to those sharing
similarties...however, i like hearing everyone feelings and their
expectations for this cruise. i like hearing families backround and what
each feels are important..cos we are doing the same things. more than
anything, it is making this cruise more special ,just realizing how many
fascinating people that will be on it.
all i did before was let my wife
set things up, and went with her...well, i told you i was lazy
. :snooty:

* so what i 've been posting, is ::yes:: , a reflection of what you
can expect..hopefully not anything,, to shocking. :flower3:

I was just catching up on things - I've been side tracke with my dead computer which is at this very moment speeding home as my spouse picked it up... and I am on her computer which is OK to use in the non-business hours. She left her computer with me as she had a divisional meeting to attend. But that left me with the kids and actually less time to surf.

At any rate, I saw your posting and noticed the references to ME and Mr V... plus your other remarks as to (more or less) ... why you surf the DIS and this cruise meet thread. I must confess your remarks are a bit poetic, and heart warming while in the same moment mildly embarassing. I do not recall showin my cabin off on the last sailin' ... (I was in an 11 which was assigned as a guarantee - and extremely far forward - among the worst locations at that! An' I only recall bringing my NEIGHBOR in - another DIS family - as we were helping with their kids ocassionally an' I had some stuff to share with them.... chuckles!!! )... so maybe If I've read your comments correctly - one aspect may have me confused with someone else. As for antics on the meet thread or ship - well... maybe that's me. That is, on the ship ... if you're referring to the ships' photographers and ME that is. I figure - THOSE ARE precisely the sort of photos we actually buy! Any who are wondering what I mean by all that will have to wait until next August to figure that one out.

So - I just wanted to thank you for the kind remarks - and thank you for dropping the notion of why we gather here to DIS. It's nice to "say so" as you have - as sometimes folks just "do" things and know why. And I was one of those. Reading your remarks made me pause to reflect - and I can see ... uh-huh... I agree that I lurk and post for precisely those reasons you cited plus a little more maybe. What you say? Well... if "I" ever figure it out then I'll post that too. <chuckles>

So - my spouse will be back in about 30 minutes - it's only been a nite but I do miss her. And not as a child supervising laborer either. <chuckles> And - I think by then things will relax a bit more with her home again.

Now back to my regularly scheduled programming ketchup with my evening TV and simultaneous surfing.

Tina.....very nice job on the chair! :thumbsup2 Did you freehand that?

Kristina...that has to be a record for a refund! NC takes forever to get theirs done. Two years ago they paid us interest on the refund amount because it took so long.

Oh Baby!!!! Never mind the fan - where's the freezer?
...speaking of which....did anyone else see DHWs this past week?????? :scared1:

Radioclash....it's nice to see your real picture. :goodvibes

Shannon...I watched AI....and cheered quite a bit at the outcome. :yay:

OK here it is...

208 photos in 17 folders.
The Sk8ingfam Thaws Out in Hawaii!

(it won't hurt my feelings if you don't want to click through someone else's vacation photos - just wanted to provide the option)

I must confess...

... some of your photos have covered ground that I have not ever seen in nearly 20 years of visiting Hawaii... in particular around Diamond Head - ... and I found some of your moments captured to be particularly heart warming and or enjoiable. I took the liberty of posting links to a few of them below ... later this evening when I get MY personal notebook back I'll load a few choice moments from our past Hawaii trips.

This image below reminds me of my SILs' wedding at sea off Lani - all Hawaiian romance!

And this image of Haleakala brings back memories for me - we were on our honey-moon and ascended Haleakala to ride bicycles down - and it was ust like that. DId you ride Bikes too or did you really ascend the mountian just for the sunrise?
http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e... adventures/haleakala sunrise/haleakala11.jpg

You must have been out pretty early to get this shot...

And this is something I never paid notice to before - but next time we're there (August '07) I'll go fishig for more of these....

And YES... I tried posting your actual images but they were so LARGE that it would have hogged up too much bandwidth - yeah - I previewed it before posting! SO... that's why I only posted links. And may I add - it looks like folks could rip (copy) the full resolution file if they wanted to? I use dotphoto and costco - and their "large" sized images which get shared are NOT rip-able. Something to consider perhaps, eh? :confused3

Hey Andy !!!! Im telling ya...........20 hours in a vehicle is Harsh !!!! Nice to be back home...........just wish home was in a Tropical Climate !!!

Wow!

Last week I did 14 hours in a car spread over 4 travel days... that was ROUGH at times... making me rethink doing anything like that anytime soon ... <wry chuckles>.... and I'm not sure but I bet those 20 hours you're referrin' to might have been done in less days than my whimpy 4 travel days for 14 hours of driving... and I did ALL the driving... as usual.

Chris, I hope you don't have what I had as it took a long time to get the motion back. Hope the cortisone works.

Arlene,
I'm not sure what is wrong - I'm tired of the pain & lack of mobility - I'm just hoping its an easy fix!!! I'm seeing the specialist on Mon.
Thanks for your concern.

What I had was adhesive capsulitis, in laymans terms frozen shoulder. Either you work with pt or have operation along with pt. I figured if I have to go thru painful exercises either way, why have an operation? I was lucky that they went 1 at a time. At the worst I couldn't lift my arm at all. Hope yours is an easy fix.:thumbsup2

Long time, no post. Wondering where you were. Looks like a lot of people coming out of the Ether tonight.

:wizard:

I've only had time to lurk a few minutes.
Just prior to vacation we had two b-day parties (with all the classmates), a sick kid, a broken tooth & way too many work projects.

I gotta domething about that work thing.
