In my case the mess would still be here because on one wants my job. Although I have an awful lot of people who think they can tell me what to do and how to do it.

Wow. I won't tell dd that Mayday is in the UK. It's her birthday and she already thinks it's a holiday, except she has to go to school! I tell here she is my Mayday baby.

I think I'm moving, between your "bank holidays" and "liberal vacation attitudes" you folk across the pond hardly have to work. No wonder you can take so many DIS vacations.....

I met a guy from Germany and where he worked, the company shut down for 6 weeks in the summer and that was his vacation every year.

I'm up to 22 vacation days a year + 12 sick days + 13 federal holidays. It still doesn't feel like enough!

Which thankfully has made it quieter around here as all of my UK colleagues are off work and leaving me alone. Many of them have taken a good portion of this week off, so maybe I can get all of the work done for them that I promised to have done last week.

Funny, I don't recall seeing you working in my building! But wait...the people trying to tell you how to do your job aren't 2000 miles away are they? Yeah love that distributed command structure--especially when the time difference bites them in the butt!

I guess I am lucky. As long as I get the cover sheet right on my TPS reports, they leave me alone for the most part as to the content of my work.

Drinking improves brain capacity.

A herd of buffalo can move only as fast as the slowest buffalo. When the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular culling of the weakest members.

In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine.

Everclear IS legal to buy in New Jersey, and can be found in most major liquor stores. It is ILLEGAL in the following states: Pennsylvania, Washington, Oregon, California, Michigan, Ohio, Florida, Virginia, and West Virginia.​

Note that WV may be questionalble as some folks have reported being able to legally buy it there. Also note that this has to do with buying in those states, I'm fairly certain the state police won't be checking your bags if you bring it into the state!

Well, my experience was 15 years ago, so it may not be legal in WV anymore.

Ouch. Hope he is feeling better today. Tell me he can play GB one handed -- my DS had to when he had his thumb in a splint -- just set it on a table.

I just told DS that & he wants to try it out later. He hurt his writing hand though so it might be a little tricky.

I'm getting really frustrated. Every call I've tried to make today ends up at an answering machine....is NO ONE WORKING today???

Now I've been on hold forever with my health insurance company. If they'd just paid the claim in the first place (as they should have) I wouldn't be getting a crick in my neck!!
