I actually use an iron to do fuse beads or melting beads with my students.....

chrissie

Why don't you at least own an iron........you had to receive one as a shower or wedding gift. LOL Mine is the least used appliance that I have:lmao: :lmao:

Paula did I ever mention that I'm a QVC/HSN Queen??? Well I am. I own a Joy Mangano clothes steamer. It is still pristine in it's box. But if I'm ever really desperate I will steam instead of iron :lmao: :lmao:

Mostly I stand right by the dryer and wait for the BING and Voila! Wrinkle-Free clothes :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I don't think the decals for our TOAL T-S*** are "steam-on" though :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Does anyone else have a discrepency with the time on the Dis postings?

Don't know if it is just me?

The DIS clock has been out of whack for sometime now, it's not you.

Hey Brack--I guess you are sweating this game out, huh? 81-81 heading into overtime.....................

So sorry Brack 96-84, what a heartbreaking loss that must have been for you.................:sad2: :sad1: :sad2:

Most of the time I'll send it out to be pressed on the cruise. It's half of the cost of cleaning and gives me extra pool time. I really try to pack stuff that doesn't need it, but some of that linen:confused3 just doesn't pack well.

We do that, too. The first trip, DH thought it was silly, but on the last trip he was handing me things to have pressed . . . LOL. We even had his suit cleaned. It's pretty cool to hand the steward everything the first day and not have to worry about it the rest of vacation (or even when I am packing for vacation . . .LOL).

I don't iron at home.. . .why would I start on the ship .. .LOL:banana::banana: We're on vacation!

We hired one a month ago and she wanted $75.00 to clean the house. I figured five hours that's $15 an hour. Well she comes at 6:30 am and is out of here by 9:30. I'm not happy about it and last week I didn't leave the envelope with her pay out, well she just left and came the next day for it. She does do a pretty good job, but I resent paying that much for three hours work. $25 an hour is a pretty good wage. Maybe I should be out there. :happytv: :scared1:

I had a cleaning lady before we were married (13 1/2 years ago). I lived in a 5 bedroom house with 4 guys (even mom thought it was a good arrangement living in Washington, DC . . .LOL). It was about a 2500 sq ft house so we didn't get on each other's nerves too badly. However, my only stipulation for moving in with a bunch of bachalors was that I WOULD NOT CLEAN!! So we hired a friend who cleaned. She did an amazing job for $50 a week. She even organized the piles on my desk (which is an accomplishment for anyone!!). She usually only took two or three hours to do the work, but she was worth eveyr penny!

If she is doing good work and doing it quickly, she is motivated to make more $$ / hour. I'd rather have a person like that than the one made we had where she worked for $50 and took over 8 hours to the same work . . .LOL. And she didn't clean very well (my roommate at the time would not fire her b/c she didn't speak English! . .LOL).

I have found the best help! My two DSs! My goal is for them to run the house by the time they graduate from high school (now would be even better . . .LOL). I want my dDIL to love me for the great husbands the boys will make . .. It takes a bit of training, but it does pay off. They did most of the dishes tonight.

Gads . . am I alone here AGAIN!! Where is everyone?? Okay, I'll go get my shower and check back in a bit .. .:surfweb:

I don't think they are either. So I am guessing that your family will be limited to the black & white t-*****s.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I didn't realize that was another name that you had:)
So you love to order off the TV or do you shop on line? I do a lot of online shopping, mostl limited to scrapbooking--I can get pretty dangerous. But if I am ever bored and put it on TV it can become plain scary. The last thing I bought was 3 closet organizers. They are still in the boxes lying on the guest room floor for going on 5 months now. :confused3 So I really try to avoid those channels.:)

Sounds like they will make perfect DHs someday. :woohoo:

Howdy Crew!
I'm back online and playing ketchup. Just 100 pages?? The boards must have been down a lot. Though I can't say I'm sorry... :lmao:

We had our school auction last night. It looks like we're down from last year - which was expected, but will still top $100K in proceeds, which was unexpected. It was an excellent event. And, we got out of there 2 1/2 hours earlier than last year - which we were all grateful for. The chairpersons were on site from 8:00am until midnight, or a little later. That's a freaking LOOOOONG day! It was a surfing theme, which made getting dressed easy. :rotfl:

Kaiya is doing great. She "woke up" today. She's been sleeping a lot since she got home - the really deep, deep sleep of puppyhood and old age. Of course the pain meds may have something to do with it. Today she's chewing on bones and doesn't want to spend as much time in her crate. And her incisions look great! :thumbsup

Well, off to page 3176. Catch you later.
Glad to hear everything is going along well now. Great news about Kaiya. My baby is laying here trying to hog more than her share of the couch. I need to pm you a question about Weims.

My kids do a major part of the house work. They don't vacuum anymore since we had the house painted bacause I don't want my clean white baseboards being smashed up by the vacuum because they are to much in a hurry to just get it done. They don't do a awesome job but they do enough to make it passable until I get a chance. They do say they are my Slaves though. I tell them DUH! why do you think we had you?

Yeah I banned myself from those channels too. Way to much chance of trouble for me.:rotfl2:

My son is like that now.. he will be 14 next month and he cleans, cooks and yes both kids do laundry :laundy: !!! I had them both trained so young that it comes so easy to them.. also, since I was sick and we were alone.. we had no choice but to help each other out...I tell him now when he hangs around my daughter and her friends when they come over ( of course they all love him since he cooks for them.. and he is not bad onthe eyes) he knows all the teenage girls secrets too!!:rotfl:

But why do they have to have to gorow up so fast???

Doreen

Nice pics Tom!!! I would venture to say that your youngest son gives you a run for your money, is he a lot like his dad??? :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Actually, the older one has my sarcasm and love of arguing... the younger one just bats his eyes, flashes his dimples and charms away....

I took about an hour (or longer) nap this afternoon.................:rotfl2:

Guess that means you are ripe for 4:00 a.m.?

That is fabulous, Doreen . . still working on the cooking aspect. DH isn't too comfortable with DSs and sharp objects (like knives . . .LOL).

I agree that they are growing up way too fast. DS12 and I were out shopping new tennies (again). He was in the middle seat of the van and it was difficult having a conversation. Suddenly I realized HE COULD SIT IN THE FRONT SEAT . . .LOL It brought tears to my eyes . . .
