Welcome Back M!!!! 15 Degrees is a cold, harsh reality! We really missed you! Did you have a really great time????

!5 degrees is five times warmer than it is on the east coast of the UK today.

To try and clear my cold I thought I'd take the dog for a walk along the beach - no chance, the sea was coming over the wall :scared1:

Today was grey, cold and miserable.

Tomorrow is the start of British Summer Time (Spring actually) so hopefully the weather will change :beach:

Somehow, I don't think so. :headache:

David

Crash--

You have demontrated proof of illness, so we'll let your absence slide.

It's those who are willfully absent for 2 weeks in a row that are the problem.

Oh noooooo.

Umm Ummm A leprechan stole my password...

ummmm I was on the beach with a fruity drink with an umbrella...

umm ummm, no wait, the video interface login of the whoosiewatzits of my computing unit caused a temporary malfunction in the location of my keyboard and inadvertantly suspended my ability to access a wifi network...

Warmer Monday.

I'M BACK!

Lesson learned this morning: 15 degree weather and flip flops do not mix.

There is nothing quite like the discontented groan of a 757 full of people traveling from Honolulu to Anchorage when upon landing, the perky flight attendant comes on the intercom to announce that the local tme is 7:05 am and the temperature is 15 degrees.

I read the summaries - anything else I need to know? Have I been volunteered for anything?

Yes, I'm typing in tan.

Yeah. Right. I MIGHT believe you but I can't....not with you showing off that new tan.

[COLOR="red"[COLOR="red"]MR that is sooooo funny! Before the world had color! :lmao: Are you sure you didn't date Abe once? ;)

Nah, not Abe........George Washington.....now he's a BABE.....gotta love the wooden teeth and white rolls wig! :lmao: :lmao:

My best friend growing up works at Rutgers. Used to be in housing and I think she still is but with the foreign students. She loves the school. Her nephew who she has been raising since the mom passed away will be going there as well (free tuition) and her son works there also.

Free tuition........would she adopt my DD!!!! :rotfl2: Thank Arlene, I'm glad you BF likes Rutgers, that makes me feel better!

DO I need a note too?

The little one was sick with a fever and fright from Narnia last nite... plus my regular computer was junked and is being wiped and rebuilt now... so I have to wait to use my spouses' notebook - and I got a Wifi antenna for the new desktop - but this new VISTA operating system seems to have a different lacement and routine for activiting the antenna. I need to get to the encryption page - plus there may be a switch to turn the wifi on and off. So I have not hooked up the desktop to the web yet... and that's my excuse for missing chat and being largely off the DIS these past few days...

SO... I think I should get a waiver for the note... :confused3

Tom you have certainly been though it! Hope your little one is better soon! Your need for a note is hereby waived! :rotfl:

MR - where are you going. To see the Mouse. I am jealous!

Karen

Yes Karen, I'll be at the BCV next week!! We are excited, could really use a vacation too! I thought you were gonna try chat last night. I was looking for you!

We 'll miss you those 2 weeks too! But I will be gone 6th and 14th also
:)

Oh Paula that means three weeks we won't be chatting together :sad1:

MR--

Are you glad that your DD has at least settled on a college choice?

Yeah Enna I'm glad it's settled.....I just don't want my baby to go away to college :sad1: :sad1:

Welcome back, Hope it was a wonderful trip! Yes, we have volunteered you for all kinds of things. MR has the list.

M for the right price, I'll shred that list in the Blender :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Welcome Back M!!!! 15 Degrees is a cold, harsh reality! We really missed you! Did you have a really great time????

Really great doesn't come close to describing it!
M.'s trip report in 500 words or less:

Kahana, Maui condo with a beautiful view of Maoloka'i

Awesome authentic luau @ Old Lahaina - shirtless man brought me free drinks all night! Poi report: DS8 & I liked it, DS6 & DH didn't.

Getting up at 3:30 am on vacation – evil. Sunrise at the top of Halelaka Crater – priceless.

I do, I do like snorkeling. Thank you, thank you , Sam I am! Snorkeled Black Rock, then took a boat trip to snorkel Molokini Crater & another site (100'+ visibility at both). Saw sea turtles & many fish (from water) & whales & dolphins (from boat). Boys freaked out at first but loved it by the end of the day (wore lifejackets).

MIL & FIL renewed their vows on the beach (40th anniversary). Plantation House- second best dinner of the trip.

Road to Hana – we took an unofficial, uncharted hike following a rambling narrative that I had in a book. The adventure included several wrong turns, a jaunt through a dense bamboo forest & scaling the wrong 12’ sheer rock face. But we managed to see all 4 waterfalls on the hike and had 2 of them to ourselves to swim under. My family will now always refer to scrapes and bruises as ‘adventure’. As in: “How is your adventure this morning?”

Hopped to Honolulu and the military resort on Waikiki Beach – Hale Koa (house of the warrior in Hawaiian). Awesome resort, lovely view. Can’t beat the price. Beach side of Waikiki is great, but it is in the middle of the city. I don’t like my beach views to come with traffic noise. It was only an issue from our balcony, once we were actually on the beach we couldn’t hear downtown.

Ate dinner at the last remaining original ‘50’s-‘60’s Tiki Room - La Mariana Sailing Club. Very cool!

Climbed to the top of Diamond Head. Beautiful views and lots of steps. MIL & FIL took the kids for the day so DH & I went surfing. OK, so we are active people, but I still wouldn’t recommend a scamper up Diamond Head followed by an afternoon of surfing! We both actually surfed pretty well for newbies. Had dinner at Roy’s – best meal of the trip. Roy was the guest judge for the Top Chef finale in Hawaii this year.

Visited Pearl Harbor. Drove up the North Shore – disappointing because the big waves are gone this time of year. DH & DSs conquered the world’s largest maze at the Dole Plantation. We celebrated with a Dole Whip! Yes, a Dole Whip! YAY!

Spent yesterday lounging poolside and racking up quite the bar tab since it was our last day. We showered at IL’s condo, ate at Duke’s, and jumped on an 11 pm flight back to the cold.

Welcome back, Hope it was a wonderful trip! Yes, we have volunteered you for all kinds of things. MR has the list.

I was afraid of that!

Oh yeah - I have about 750 photos to sort through & edit.

I'm going to try digital scrapbooking. I'm just not into the fancy paper scrapbooking. I have no patience & I'm not very crafty. I'm going to make 8x10 page layouts using a graphics program to slide into an album I figure if it works out, this will give me something to do in the car on our cross-country journey this summer.

Anyway, once I am quasi-organized, I'll post a link to my photobucket for anyone who is interested.

And this weekend here's the latest installment of.....

question.gif

7 Scary Questions?

1) Do scary thoughts REALLY BOTHER you? If so then please feel free to skip the next 6 questions OR substitute "HAPPIEST" or "HAPPY" for the word "Scariest" or "scary" accordingly below and proceed!!!

2) What is all time scariest MOVIE you've seen?

3) What SCENE was the scariest to you?

4) What is the scariest thing you can imagine (OFF HAND) which is NOT from TV or a movie?

5) Ever have something scary happen to YOU in real life? Tell us a little of it if ya "dare"... ?

6) Can you recall something SCARY from you childhood? This may involve or be someone else's experience as opposed to something YOU are personally experiencing.

7) Would you like to GUESS what the NEXT respondant will say to ONE of these questions? If "yes"... then which Q and reply do you think they will have? Yeah... this is perhaps a tough one... but lets' see if anyone gets it! We'll be watchin' the editing times - and NO CHEATING with PMs and collusion folks!!! We got our eyes on you... :rolleyes

3. The bedroom scene
4. Being involved in an automoble accident (a bad one!) :scared:
5. Not really (guess I'm lucky)

You do realize that you will need to bring a note explaining your absence before you are permitted to participate in Chat again. Oh, and vacation is not an excused absence.

:lmao:

OK...

... at my insistance I had Alicia go on ahead with the feverish little one cuz the mail truck was pulling up. My express mail has arrived! And now I am on my way out with the older daughter to lend a supportive hand at the doctors...

Have a great afternoon folks...
