I'M BACK!

Lesson learned this morning: 15 degree weather and flip flops do not mix.

There is nothing quite like the discontented groan of a 757 full of people traveling from Honolulu to Anchorage when upon landing, the perky flight attendant comes on the intercom to announce that the local tme is 7:05 am and the temperature is 15 degrees.

I read the summaries - anything else I need to know? Have I been volunteered for anything?

Hello everyone.. been a few weeks since I have been on.. SO busy with kids and schools.

Today my son and I went to the YMCA and we swam.. The challenge is on.. We did laps for a solid 30 mins.. My arms are so tired.

I am on my laptop hoping it wont quite on me laying in bed watching HOLIDAY..
At first I thought it was a defective DVD when it went to the video clips.. I am be so blonde.

So how has everyone been??

OK...

... my spouse just figured out the little one has a FEVER. So - her comments about having hearing issues last nite were not mistaken. I missed that when dealing with the scared feelings issues. I was soooo wacked at one point I was NOT thinking straight at all. Now it all rushes back to me in SHARP FOCUS as to why the little one insisted on being held so much by me last nite.

SO, we have a doctors appointment in 37 minutes. Plus I'm waiting for an Express Mail package this morning - so I'll have to see what comes of the plans for who goes or not with her to the doc.

Hope she gets better soon Crash!

Good about your DW, but hope she ALOT better soon!

My DS has the Flu and it's been a battle for him. I'd like to say he is better today because after four days he finally has no fever and hasn't thrown up today, but really he isn't moving much at all. It's such a concern when they're sick, no matter their age! Thanks for asking Andrew

Do scary thoughts scare me... well, my DW alternates calling me "Mr. Worst Case Scenario" or "Mr. Doom and Gloom" and tells me I'm one of the few people that get excited when disasters occur.... My job is in emergency management, planning for the worst case, pandemic flu, hurricanes, tornados, etc., so I kind of live in the scary thought arena (makes Mickey Magic all that more enjoyable)....

2) What is all time scariest MOVIE you've seen?

Can't think of one that would be the "scariest"

3) What SCENE was the scariest to you?

Same as above

4) What is the scariest thing you can imagine (OFF HAND) which is NOT from TV or a movie?

Do you want to be scared? Losing my family would be the scariest thing in the world. We can survive anything together, but without them....

5) Ever have something scary happen to YOU in real life? Tell us a little of it if ya "dare"... ?

I was in WDW when Hurricane Frances was approaching. MCO closed about 72 hours before landfall (a bit gunshy after damage from Hurricane Charlie) and we were unable to find flights out. Finally, we managed to get a 2 pm flight from Tampa (Friday??) when Frances was supposed to hit the east coast at 6 am. Fortunately the storm slowed so we departed WDW for Tampa and pulled into airport about 8 am. Told skycap I wanted to know if the plane was there or not. He looks in computer and tells us not to move, runs inside and comes back with 4 tickets, none together (and I have 4 and 6 year old at time) but plane was there and we were on. I unload luggage, tip him heavily and head to car rental return (they give us unused day, gas and 10% discount for putting car in their possession prior to hurricane) and camp out in terminal. About noon the buzz goes through airport that no more planes will be coming in and the first squalls start moving through. They load us up at 2 and we get out as the next round of squalls was starting...

6) Can you recall something SCARY from you childhood? This may involve or be someone else's experience as opposed to something YOU are personally experiencing.

I was about 10 and playing about 2 blocks from home when a bank of clouds comes rolling in, it gets real dark and the wind starts picking up. My brother, my neighbor and I start heading home and the wind becomes unbearable, my brother disappears (I later learn he did a "wicked witch of the west" flight on his bike, was tackled by another neighbor and dragged to safety). My neighbor and I can barely move against the wind and rocks are flying up and hitting us in our face. A slate piece from the top of a chimney flys off and misses us by about 2 feet, embedding itself in the ground. We come around the corner of a house and watch as the house across the street lifts up and falls into the middle of the street (5 people trapped, all survive with minor injuries) and then a few seconds later the wind stops, the rain stops and it clears up some. Later learn it was a tornado.

Got up the crack of dawn after a late night in chat (again) and visited Rowan University. It's an awesome place. Alas, Rutgers is our DD choice and that is where she will go.
