I've given up checking my status...some day it will same something other than GTY.

If the rumors that they are overbooked are true, then they may be waiting for people to drop to assign rooms. We started as a 10 GTY but got assigned a room within a few days. Supposedly we are waitlisted for early dinner (we pulled 8:30 which doesn't sit well with DSs) but that hasn't changed at all.

I'm now checking every week (just in case some pixie dust happens to run over their computers).

I had a crazy thought of just paying the amount in full to see if that would change the status, but in reality we'll just wait....and wait....and wait....:rotfl:

Have you tried calling DCL? Many of us called a month or so ago and were able to change from late to "Captains Dining" ie: early. Probably worth the phone call, I had to call twice, the first CM said absolutely no way, called back 5 minutes later, 2nd CM said no problem and switched us.

Thought I was the only one that took afternoon naps. Really don't expect to get a room assignment for a good six months. We know they had to way overbook this cruise, history tells them cancellations will be high. I have steeled myself with the idea it will take three years of points to get the nine of us on this cruise. I wanted to take the family on the Med, but the pricing was outrageous.

Andy, I remember the days of picking up kids at all hours. There were times I was almost willing to pay them to not work, would have saved me money. :rotfl2:

There are just too many posts to read them all but I have read all the summaries. I introduced our family to the group after we booked but haven't posted since. Now that our vacation is over (2/24/07 Western) we can start concentrating and overplanning the next one. We have just started thinking about pre-cruise ideas in CA. and we were wondering what others were planning on doing. We have never vacationed in CA. so we don't have any good ideas except of course Disneyland. We are hoping to arrive about 3 nights prior to the cruise. Does anyone have any good Hotel suggestions? Our kids at cruise time will be, turning 3 (on the cruise), 5, 8 and 10. Has anyone gotten any good ideas for port excursions? Esp with Kids? Would love to hear anyones ideas, planning is most of the fun!

You're much more optimistic then I am. I don't think we're going to start seeing room assignments until at least 90 days out.

Wow this is surreal! I left for a few hours because we had my brother & his girlfriend over for Chinese Food & I had one page to read. :confused3 This is beginning to look like a "normal" thread!

We also plan on arriving 3 to 4 days prior & stay at DL on DVC points. I know quite a few people are staying at the Howard Johnson's. Check the first page of this thread for that info. & also some excursion info. We have some family & friends in the LA area that we plan on visiting & I definitely want to do a bus tour, because I think this may be our one and only trip to CA. I'm not sure what we are doing for excursions yet, but I definitely want to see the cliff divers in Aculpulco.

Guess where I am going in a couple of hours ???

Happy Birthday to all and pixiedust: to those of us that are in need of it. I was involved in a bad accident in April of 03 and we made settlement with the 3rd party two days ago, thank God that's now behind us. Wish we could leave all the hurts behind. Found out last week I have a torn Rotar cuff, I think the Doctors were thinking I was faking all the pain, finally they sprung for an MRI. :scared1: :sad1:
