I have a laptop, I just refuse to take it on vacation!
I think my break even calculation is memory cards vs. Shutters charge for burning CDs.

When we get closer, I'll ask one of the math geeks to count squares and figure it out for me!

Also, I like the group snapfish account idea. I did the research when I got my DSLR a few months ago & found that many think the prints are better from photobucket. I have a photobucket pro account. 5 GB storage, photos up to 2 MB, unmetered bandwith & 10% print discount. All for $25 a year. I'd be willing spring for the $25, of maybe a few of us photoheads could each kick in a few bucks to get the bigger account if people seem interested.

I use Dotphoto, Mpix (for the nice stuff), propix for framed canvas mounted images and Costco for simple next hour local convenience. The Dotphoto account is a subscription where I have reset the print charge to generate a profit for myself. I've sold a few images/prints off the site.

We could do anything however to gather images. I suspect that with dozens and dozens of DIS folks contributing images ... and just me alone I might have several hundred decent images from each DAY of the voyage - and all this volume is likely to take up tons of storage and creat several thousand images to pour through.

Thats' my take on it. Unless we sort of call the community site a DIS group photo sharing site. IE, we declare it's really just for community images which makes a lot more sense.

And - I always bring a notebook - as I like to play computer games and store/edit all my images immediately while on the run. Plus - we use the notebook to entertain the kids when a crisis arises with a DVD movie or kids' edutainment application while on the flight. So = we have a lot of uses for a notebook when we travel.

And I like your siggy CAKE line...Speak softly and carry a big :cake: it drew a chukle from me just now....

Deptford Mall, do you know where that mall is???

Well i know it's kinda across the river from the southern end of Philly.

My mom used to drag us to some of the malls over in Jersey. I used to love going to Cherry Hill with my friend when i was a kid(It was huge) Then Willow Grove Expanded on the PA side but was mainly higher end stores.

PS...wait i hear an old commercial in my head.....

"Deptford Mall wants to show you...How much more a great mall can do..."

Does that sound right? oh wait or was that for Moorestown Mall?

Good Morning!

Crash....does the "question" fall along the lines of whether the background of the picture is black or white? It's early...I didn't put on my thinking cap yet.

Ahhh,

.... now you don't expect ME to really respond to that query yet - now do you? The question is WHAT should the questions be... eh? :confused3

Suggestion ...... look at the Honda Odyssey. It is a better related vehicle by Consumer Report (and others) and it is about the same price.

My DW drives a Grand Caravan now but are switching to the Honda soon.
:thumbsup2

Well...

... I should have clearified. We're probably gonna buy the Grand Caravan that is presently my spouses' company car. So we clearly know what the condition is - and we end up getting a good car at about half the cost of a new one. Normally we would get another Caravan as a company car and let the old one go to a family member or friend at the fleet residual value price - however the word is that come next year the fleet will not have a minivan option to select from - and we really like the utility offerred by the minivans' we've had.

Now -that said - I know there are better minivan values out there. The honda being a class leader - no doubt. But we get a better deal with the used one which we've had since it was new. So that is our plan. I'm gonna let one of my other car go and I'll still keep the old lexus a little while longer I guess. That is - I'll keep the Lexus until I can convince my spouse to trade it in for a nice vintage Ferrari, 2nd hand Dodge Viper or Hummer.... <somber chuckles>

Hellooooooo Everyone!! We're home and everything went well!!! TG. We were there about 4 1/2 hrs. and DH has nine stitches in this temple, but he did not sustain any nerve or muscle damage and can still move his forehead. You know there was someone else there getting a lesion removed from their left temple too.....John asked Dr. about it and the Dr. said the left temple is the driving temple....A good thing for all of us to know. It's a good idea to use either 1) sunscreen daily, 2) moisturizer with sunscreen daily, or 3) makeup with sunscreen daily. After all is said and done, imagine that this epidsode of skin cancer was probably not from a sunburn at the beach, but rather daily driving in the car.....pretty scary huh???

Well I gonna ketchup a while....but thanks again for all your thoughts and prayer for John, he wanted me to tell you all how much he appreciated it (me too)

SO glad everything went well!! :thumbsup2
And that is good information. We don't think on a daily basis about sunscreen. We ALWAYS use it on vacation, but we don't really give it much thought when we're just driving around town...

Great to hear that everything is ok. Come to think of it, my friend at work had one on her scalp and I think it may have been the left side as well. She has thin hair and has that pale complexion and blonde. Dr told her it was her skin type etc that made her prone to those lesions.May have been from the driving.

OK, time to head home.
See you all after dinner!

MR, glad things went well for John.

With my long commute, I learned a long time ago about the driving side. Although I'm not as diligent as I used to be. I do have a bottle of sunscreen at my desk at work. I try to remember to put it on before I leave. In fact, I guess I better do that right now.

Did anyone else enter the Ultimate Pirate Fan contest? I think Julie and LaTanya did. Got my email and I didn't make it. But they said they will have a stand by list and I could come wait and see it I can get in. It also said they will take those in pirate costume before taking other people. I don't have much pirate gear though. I think just an eye patch, aztec gold medallion and maybe a toy sword. Too bad my Tia costume is still just pieces of fabric. I've got until Sunday to put something together though.

Actually, it looks to me like one of those inkblot things. So....what do we see? I see me on the Mickey Ship! That's what I see in everything!;)

Hi All,
It's 9:15 a.m. in Redondo Beach. Back from dropping my Odyssey off for a tune-up. I don't think ketchup is possible at this point - so I'll jsut go forward.
Tomorrow DGS has no school so we're going to DL - we have AP's. I think we're going again on Sun. with friends. The AP's were a Xmas gift to DD from her boss - very generous boss!!!
Gotta run - so much piled up while I was recuperating from the surgery.
Check back later.

Happy Birthday!! And feel better to all those not well.

Chris

Yeah...

it's a beautiful day today is it not? I'm north of ya by about 40 miles and I imagine your weather is identical to ours'.

And - I just got a call from my little ones' preschool. She's awakened from a nap and has a fever. So they're asking that I run over to pick her up. Gotta go and "rescue" her. Thankfully it's only 101 and not much of a fever. I'll bring medication for her and dose her on the spot.

TTFN!
