I was just showing my spouse your response to my earlier posting - and she just started laughing and chuckling out loud. Then she remarked: "... did you do that?..."? I tell ya... my spouse has NO IDEA what I'm capable of. And she thinks she could have done better (fishing for another man) if she waited - as in buying electronic equipment... harumph!

When I originally proposed the 40 square question I never intended it to have such "legs" or spawn such an entertaining set of digressive diversions. So - for my next chapter in visual puzzles - can anyone see the question posed by the image above? Ahhh.... this begins as a puzzle with NO question... yet. ​

The number of posts you have isn't what is important. Participating & getting to know people on your cruise is what makes this all so much fun.

Precisely... I am not counting on HOW MANY posts I've posted - even though I sort of do notice <silent steady smiles>. I believe I have gotten to "know" a lot of folks who have a fraction of my posts. By the same token - I imagine some folks know a little about me from my postings - including my recent new-found affinity for Turkey Joes. Now - that's something MY NEIGHBORS or Bible study mates may never learn about me. So - in its' own special way this DIS thread is pulling me out of my sometimes entrenched mind numbbing servitude as SAHD and perpetual taxi driver to the little ones.

Frankly, I sometimes look on at the SAHMs and ask myself - where are all the SAHDs? I see a few wandering about - but they seem kind of in semi-shock - as I have felt sometimes. Know what I mean? Life can sometimes be a repetitious grind - and harmless diversions are ... harmless... right?

At any rate - what I am really trying to say - we each utilize this meeting thread as we see fit. Everyone wants or approaches with a different thought in mind - I'm sure. And many are probably simply wondering what its' all about? In the beginning I strictly lurked prior to my 1st sailing - then on the next I became a little more ambitious and had light participation - and now I'm looking forward to an amazing list of semi-private DIS diversions, and I'm trying to host an Ice Cream Eating contest (the 3rd unofficial edition) - plus possibly a side heat of chocolate syrup speed slurping in honor of Andy's passion for the juice, AND I plan on myself walking the ship in the middle of the nite (potentially with a DIS pal on a similar "mission") doing fish extender drop offs - to what sometimes seems like a never endoing maze of corridors covering the ENTIRE SHIP from stem to stern on every deck. Yeah - I've come a long way in some ways - while in many ways I've found a way to be a bit of a fun loving kid again! And that's not a bad thing - I tell ya. Yes - I see the youthful energy of my kids - but that's not quite the same as being a little bit of a kid again myself in my own way - as I sometimes feel I am here.

So - to each his / her own - and I think if a point of conversation interests you - then by all means just jump in and quote a post and drop a reply. Many of my postings are mere anecdotal semi-complementary images - while a few actually contain some form of verbage. Otherwise - I am just here havin' a little fun. Some say "get a life" - (in humor mostly - I can tell) - I say ... this day needs a few more chuckles and smirks to round it out nicely!

Oh well... so much for these ravings from a borderline DISing lunatic. The boards may shut down within the hour and that there is my 2 cents of commentary on post counts. Remember about 15,000 posts ago I gave up on pursuing top total post counts - I said I was gonna try and concentrate on "Quality" rather then "QUANTITY"? Does it LOOK like that's the case with me???

The other good thing is that while I am usually the photographer and rarely in the pictures ww had dozens of cameras so I found pictures that I was in also!

I'm never in vacation photos either. I'm a bit worried that my kids will wonder why I never went on vacation with them.

Just a little side note to share...

.... I have a birthday coming up in a few weeks - and I sort of asked my spouse for a new car for my birthday. Of course - that's extremely unlikely to happen - but I figured if I aim high I just might get her to buy me that new DSLR camra body I've wanted... <chuckles>....

.. but she actually surprised me by saying I would not get an imprcatical car like I was suggesting. I said I could get a nice used corvette convertible for just 30K... see this picture? Or maybe I could get a nice used Hummer - they've got rotten resale due no doubt to their impractical size for everyday use (parking/maneouvering/etc.) and rotten gasa milage given our high fuel prices. And I was really just kidding as I consider this sort of thing to be sheer fantasy. Well - I found it surprising that my spouse had a level conversation on the feasability of these vehicles.

I already know - we're getting a Dodge Caravan... the prototypical soccor/karate/gymnastics taxi.

Hope that Hazel is feeling better Andy. Just make sure that Hazel does'nt do any driving after she takes on of those Dicyclomines until see how she will react to it. With your descriptions of her driving she may want to hold off. Just kidding Hazel. Flora-Q is fancy name for putting some new healthy bugs back in her gut. This can be very effective.

When Hazel was reading to me the possible side effects of the Dicyclomine, I told her I didn't want her driving until she sees how it effects her. Thanks for the added warning!!!!!!!!!

Today weather going up to 80's. Tomorrow no higher then 50. Go figure!

Saturday, Busch Gardens, Williamsburg,VA opens with a preview day for us passholders. Weather is going to be cold its a sign that spring and summer arem not far behind. We can only hope.

I already know - we're getting a Dodge Caravan... the prototypical soccor/karate/gymnastics taxi.

Suggestion ...... look at the Honda Odyssey. It is a better related vehicle by Consumer Report (and others) and it is about the same price.

My DW drives a Grand Caravan now but are switching to the Honda soon.

Tomorrow my DH is having MOHS surgery on a basal cell carcinoma on his left temple.

The other day we went & got her ears pierced. It's funny because she was holding out & adamant that she was "Never getting holes" in her ears. Well out of the blue she comes home from school and says, "I want my ears pierced!" Okaaaay. I guess she looked around in school & she said, "Mom every single girl has her ears pierced! And I mean every one! I didn't see one girl that didn't have holes in her ears or earrings on!" Along with the piercing, we had to buy big silver hoop earrings, "because that's what everyone wears!" She can't wait till the 6 weeks are up so she can put them on. What the heck happened to my little girl? Who stole her?

Be glad she held out as long as she did.....my dd had hers done when she was 5.

Just how many people here have a DH (or DW) who is one of 10??? DH was in college when he found out his DM was expecting number 9. He didn't talk to her for a month! Number 10 came a couple years later. Here I thought having 3 brothers and a sister was a lot.

You don't hear of too many big families anymore. My dad is one of 9, but my maternal grandpa was one of 17! No twins, either....

Now you have me looking Andy! I've been good this year not buying anything "frivolous" yet.

Watch out J.R.- That road may rise up to meet you again...
