I love paying bills on line.. When you pay it to the places web sites they get it immediately.. Last night I paid my mortgage and was on the phone with them at the same time.. it took IF 30 sec before it showed up as paid.. I LOVE IT!!! ;) Saves me from writing a check, a stamp and going to the post office.. I hate winter so I hibernate..lol can you tell. I am so depressed... I need to get out. HELPP!!! I need one of those SUN LIGHTS  We have had so much snow its getting to me!.:confused3 :goodvibes

I asked earlier if anyone knows where I can go with my 13 and 17 yr old for little $$ just to get away for a bit. I live in cental NY. I have a self business of LIA SOPHIA so I would travel for that if that would help. Any suggestions??

sorry don't know NY and don't know LIA SOPHIA....not much help here

The 3 of us will have at least 4 cameras (3 stills and a DVD camcorder) so that's going to be a lot of images & video. I was debating on whether to bring DW's new 17" laptop (with the Lightscibe DVD burner) to pull the photos off the various chips but then I saw the Sony DVDirect drive

The nice thing about the MC3 drive is that it will take multiple sources for video and photos (camcorder, DV, digital memory chips) and burn them to DVD....no computer required! :thumbsup2

DH just HAD to have his picture take with Kim Possible at MGM last year.

Dirty Old Man.

What is it with that? We once had a tablemate that had the hots for Belle - not the human Belle - the character Belle - I thought he was kidding until his wife showed me a picture of him and Belle which he ran ahead of his DD to take a solo picture with. We thought it was soooo cute - that I had to give him a pillowcase that Belle had signed as a gag gift. ;)

I thought it was just weird - but I guess not unheard of! :rotfl2:

Swabbies - want to let us know what that's all about?

Since y'all weren't good at Math, let's try the world's easiest History and Geography Quiz:

1) How long did the Hundred Years war last?

:wizard:

THe problem with this one is that the war really didn't last 100 years - of course I'm no expert but didn't it end up lasting something like 112-113 years total? when you took out the 'truce'? Any History Majors out there? I don't count as I still haven't declared my major!!!!1 :rolleyes1

Hey Whistling guy is back - thanks Smiley Fairy! :thumbsup2

Gotta share, I had a fantastic lunch today.

A co-worker and I were taken out by a manager in one of the offices we support. Our budget is so non-existent that working lunches are a thing of the past, so it was a nice treat. I can't remember the last time I've actually left the building for lunch.

He took us to the swanky part of town and we sat overlooking the country club's golf course. The food was good, but the service was lacking. The company was great. I'm so stuffed still. No dinner for me tonight.

Count me in.... I am planning to buy a few memory cards to make up for the 16+ days being gone..

Anyone have a favorite camcorder that they would recommend..I have a great digital camera

Ok this is sad.. I have time to chat on line on this FRIDAY night.. no kids for another hr and no one is here.. Is everyone SLEEPING since you were on so late last night??

Ok I will look for another trivia question here...brb..

Got a camera question.
Last Caribbean cruise we were on my killed our video camera. Basically we took it from the frosty room out into the heat too fast and it fogged up and never recovered. It was pretty new too.
I read about "transitioning" the camera when going from cool to warm but how in the heck do you do that?:confused3

Be very very careful...DW has been harping for a poodle forever! In fact, JoJo looks just like her old pooch Bridget. We had to put Winifred (Winnie the Pooh) down last week so we're down to the 2 miniature Dachshunds. She's also wanted a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel but I think she'd get rid of everything (including me and the baby) for a silver poodle! :rotfl:

I think that we are safe; Colorado is a long way from Baltimore. Besides, when we go away JoJo is not put in a kennel. We have a babysiter who is 6'2" 300lbs+ and he loves JoJo. :goodvibes

 You made me cry!

I lost my little girl three years this June while I was in London. She and I shared a pillow each night for over 17 years. Here she is sleeping with her favorite snowman.

Oh brack what a darlin' doggie!! And she lived more than 17 years, that is really terrific. :grouphug:

Very good. Now try this test:

History
Describe the history of the Papacy from its origins to the present day, concentrating especially, but not exclusively, on its social, political, economic, religious and philosophical impact on Europe, Asia, America and Africa. Be brief, concise and specific.

Medicine
You have been provided with a razor blade, a piece of gauze, and a bottle of scotch. Remove your appendix. Do not suture until your work has been inspected. You have fifteen minutes.

Public Speaking
2500 riot-crazed escaped maximum-security prisoners are storming the classroom. Calm them. You may use any ancient language except Latin or Greek.

Biology
Create test-tube life. Then estimate the differences in subsequent human culture if this form of life had developed 500 million years earlier, with special attention to its probable effect on the English Parliamentary System. Prove your thesis.

Music
Write a piano concerto. Orchestrate and perform it with flute and drum. You will find a piano under your seat.

Psychology
Based on your knowledge of their works, evaluate the emotional stability, degree of adjustment, and repressed frustrations of each of the following:
Alexander of Aphrodisis
Rameses II
Hammuarabi.
Support your evaluation with quotations from each man's work, making appropriate references. It is not necessary to translate.

Sociology
Estimate the sociological problems which might accompany the end of the world. Construct an experiment to test your theory.

Engineering
The disassembled parts of a high-powered rifle have been placed on your desk. You will also find an instruction manual, printed in Swahili. In 10 minutes, a hungry bengal tiger will be admitted to the room. Take whatever action you feel necessary. Be prepared to justify your decision.

Economics
Develop a realistic plan for refinancing the national debt. Trace the possible effects of your plan in the following areas:
Cubism
the Donatist Controversy
the Wave Theory of Light
Outline a method for preventing these effects. Criticize this method from all possible points of view. Point out the deficiencies in your point of view, as demonstrated in your answer to the last question.

Epistemology
Take a position for or against truth. Prove the validity of your stand.

Physics
Explain the nature of matter. Include in your answer an evaluation of the impact of the development of mathematics on science.

Philosophy
Sketch the development of human thought. Estimate its significance. Compare with the development of any other kind of thought.

General Knowledge
Describe in detail. Be objective and specific.

How cold was the room? I have never had this problem even going from inside my house to snow outside. Even at the Grand Canyon in subzero weather my camera did fine from the warm car to the outside.

Your problem appears to be the reverse. I would say to try and 'warm" the camera up before going out. Maybe wrap it in a blanket or keep it stored in a warmer area.
