Hmmm...does it work on stretch marks? I not good at pregant... I gained 50% of my starting weight..twice!

Whoa I was gonna freak about the 50%, but I then realized that I was 10lbs or so short of that too... Pretty darn scary when you think of it in those terms! BUT it wasn't totally my fault... DD decided not to swallow the fluid so before I gave birth to a 4 pound baby, I looked like I carried TRIPLETS! No wonder I ached no matter what position I was in!:scared1: :scared1:

I will definitely lay in the sun for a couple of days before we go. Not because I'm worried about burning, but I don't want M to mistake me for a corpse & plop me in a lounge chair to hold her spot! :bitelip:

We'll probably have some base tan, but we are packing a ton of sunscreen. When I told my boss that Linda picked up 20 bottles of sunscreen on sale, she asked "Where you going for vacation, he**?" We're hoping to be able to ship it all to our hotel!

I just pick out formal colors that go with sunburn!
Seriously - our other 2 cruises:
1. it was March & we lived in CT - we were all pale, we all burned
2. it was March & we lived in AK - We were all really pasty - DS9 looks downright sickly if he doesn't get sun. DH actually went tanning a few times and he slightly burned, but he generally has skin that goes beautiful tan. I was glow-in-the-dark girl for sailaway - I burned eventually. However, my burn seems to be different - I'm red for a few days then go tan-ish. I don't so much tan as my freckles get closer together!

If you see me lying out on deck 9, please check whether or not I am breathing before you toss me overboard as a corpse. Another way to tell the difference is that I am considerably whiter than most corpses.

Having long since given up on getting a tan (not to mention being driven at least two shades more pale in terror from all the reports indicating that anything more than 45 seconds of sunlight increases your chance of getting Melanoma by 500%), I find I compulsively slather on sunscreen at the slightest hint of daylight.

Speaking of which - anyone have recommendations as two which sunscreen is best nowadays?

Matterhorn - I can remember my Mum handing us the E tickets to ride it quite a few times in a row when the fireworks were on one night back on my first or second trip. I was about 7. I remember when the Skyride use to go thru it. Rode it several times a couple of weeks ago - can't wait to ride it again in August.

Are you thinking of taking one of the inaugural cruises when the new ships are built?

I had pre eclampsia with #1 - I'm shocked my ankles don't have stretch marks! Yeah, I had a 7 lb. 3 oz. baby and lost 2 lbs. in the process!

Baby #2, I work out until 36 weeks and still gained 50+ lbs. Not pretty!

Speaking of which - anyone have recommendations as two which sunscreen is best nowadays?

I'm just going with the No-Ad SPF 30 spray on pirate stuff from the dollar store - I have 20 cans of it!

Everything is going to kill me anyway.

Hi everyone,

If you have a DD who is a Girl Scout or Girl Guide - I am happy to order a special patch for them to wear on the back of their vest/sash. The cost is $2.00 each and I would need a minimum of 30 to be able to order them.

Please send me a PM with the count on how many you would like. They look like little treasure maps and I will have wording put on it to do with the cruise.

I have orders from:

Disfreaks
Discruiser
ReAnSt
A Litle Pixie Dust

Thanks!

Don't Boy Scouts collect these sorts of patches for their brag vests? I know DS11 is collecting Junior Ranger patches this summer for his. It's a thought - and might up the count. Provided the patch is unisex. :)

Ug. What a week. Well, shirt sales are closed. :faint: We wound up at about 415 - so we cleared that last hurdle by a bit. Thanks everyone!

DS11 has his scuba lessons every night this week, and the open water dive this weekend. He had his first lesson last night. All the book work, time in the pool, and THEN his swim test - 200 yd swim and a 10 min tread water. Mind you it was 9:20pm by the time he got to this, and he'd just finished his first day of summer camp at the swim club = 3 hours of outdoor play + 1 1/2 hours of swimming. He was tired walking in the door for his lesson! He wasn't fast - but he got the job done and passed his swim test. :yay: Boy was he whipped when we got home. The down side is I'm spending all my evenings this week sitting around a pool - no DIS time. :worried: On the other hand, the dive instructor said I could suit up and go play on the bottom of the pool if I wanted. That might be fun. I might actually get a sign off on a refresher course out of it. ::yes::

Our IT dept pushed a new version of our email SW to my phone. It totally trashed it!! Had to do a hard reset - lost all my programs, settings, etc. UG. :furious: AND I've got all day meeting every day for the rest of the week - so there's no chance to get a little break during the day. AND you wouldn't believe the amount of stuff that has to be done over the next three weeks before I leave on sabbatical. :duck: :duck:

I had to decide to change my routing for our 5-weeks of pre-cruise camping. Fuel is simply too high to go traipsing all the way out to MT and have a fancy cruise on top of it. We'll stay in NorCal, OR, and WA. But, still do all the camping. So, now I have to go replan the entire first half. And hope that the fishing guide doesn't realize I'm 2 days inside the 30 day cancellation window when I call tomorrow. :worried:

BUT... ONLY THREE WEEKS TILL SABBATICAL!!!

Sorry, just had to rant a bit. I'll crawl back under my rock now.

So far, our "most likely to be elected President" pirate is Canadian!

Huh?

I'm left handed too. So is my maternal grandmother (though she was forced to convert), mother, and brother. I consider it my greatest failing as a mother - neither of my children is left handed.

.

ATTENTION

Dolphin Swim in Cabo

They just opened up some 8:45 am to 10:45 am slots , I was able to change mine from the 12:30 pm slot ...

Looks like I will be spending a good portion of the day at Cabo Wabo :cool1: :cool1:

pirate:

Thanks for the heads up Todd - I was able to get DS and I booked for the 8:45!! What's even better is that he we told him that we couldn't get the ressie so we wouldn't be doing it so we're going to keep it a secret until that morning:banana:.

If anyone else is interested in this time slot, I'm holding on to 2 spots. When I saw the opening I snagged 2 spaces that I would give up to Todd and Destin. But they were able to get their own. I don't want to cancel the ones I have and risk someone else grabbing them, just in case one of the pirates wants in.

If anyone wants these, let me know.

Someone posted earlier that the presidential candidates are all left handed. And the majority of past presidents have been left handed.

4) Do you have a favorite music - bands - performers - or such?

Not really, go for Jazz, R&B, and Classical mostly

5) Right or left handed? OR.. are we ambidexterous?

Dunno any more

7H) Favorite Cruise Director?

Julie? :rotfl2:

7I)How many days of school are your kids missing for this trip?

None - they start school the day after we get home

7M) Tai Chi or Chai Tea?

Both!

8)Favorite Disney attraction (from any park)?

Cyber Space Mountain at Disney Quest - where else can you build your own roller coaster and then ride it?? (OK, it's not a park, but it's still the best ride!)

Are you thinking of taking one of the inaugural cruises when the new ships are built?

Thinking about it. Sure. Doesn't cost nuthin' to think. ;)

Bought this for DS tonight

Found it by accident since the seller spelled cumberbund without the 'd'
When I lost a previous auction, my loser email had a list of similar items and there it was!

Yurts are good, but the one-room thing makes it difficult to sublet. Maybe a Pirate Timeshare Yurt? YVC, anyone???

It's our favorite design for the someday cabin at the family woods in WA. A largish sized yurt with a wing of one side for bedrooms. It's affectionately known as the Starship Enterprise.

Gee it took me forever to ketchup - can't remember where I wanted to respond!!
Got a really busy day tomorrow - time to say good nite. Hope everyone has a Great Day tomorrow!!

I can call it something about Cruising with Scouting....it would be unisex..

Someone posted earlier that the presidential candidates are all left handed. And the majority of past presidents have been left handed.

hmmm..my DD is right handed when she writes and left handed for everything else...maybe she will be a viable candidate when she gets older....:rotfl2:

Phew, just back from San Jose's opening night of 'High School Muscial, On Tour'.

Great show, folks were on their feet for the finale.

Time for bed.

Andy

WOO HOO!! The DD's are out shopping with a good friend of ours who has some fashion sense! We gave them each 125.00 to spend. The friend is great at finding bargains, so we'll see what they come back with!
Well, the girls did very good! Got a ton of cute clothes! DD14 came home with 11.00 and DD9 with 1.00!

I'm grumpy ... well actually, I'm Kandi, but I'm channeling grumpy right now :headache: For those keeping score, I had a list of "resolutions" that I hoped to be accomplished this year ...

1) TOAL ... and danggit, this one is NOT an option ::yes::

2) Get a new job

3) Sell our house and buy a new one

Soooo ... I got out of bed at 7:00 this morning and was awaiting confirmation of the 3rd and final interview for the "perfect" job, also awaiting acceptance on the offer that we made a new house, to go along w/the offer that we accepted a few weeks ago on our current house.

By 2:00 this afternoon, my life "resolutions" started to crumble ... first, NO-GO on our offer of the new house ... next, NO-GO on the "perfect job" ... finally, :worried: financing fell through for the buyers on our current home, thus NO SALE :(

I think that some others amongst us will understand when I say that the final news of the sale of our current home falling through being delivered by a Cop standing in my kitchen with the words, "I have some really bad news" ... was actually a relief :worship:

I, for one, cannot WAIT until Friday the 13th, I mean SHOOT ... Tuesday the 10th was bad enough

I am so sorry this all seemed to snowball and happen at once. I have had days like that!

This is not something I have seen mentioned. Do any of you tan before you go so you won't get too burned? I know I just had surgery and I will cover those areas. BTDT.:confused3

No I don't. I just try to keep out of the sun or cover up as much as possible. Although tanning may stop you getting burnt, it actually just increases your risk of getting skin cancer.
