Sounds like the Doc is being cautious. Sometimes things show up days after an accident:confused3 Good that he is taking x-rays too:thumbsup2

When I fell off my bike, it was a few days later before we realised that I had small fractures to my thumb and wrist - simply due to all the other injuries - I was so banged up and bruised that while in hospital for the morning, I didn't know I'd injured those too.

Schools are closed here but because of the flooding, not the heat. State of emergency is Southern Wisconsin :worried:

The main lake in Wisconsin Dells is spilling over it's banks. They fear they will lose the lake completely. Three houses have fallen in. The lake is rushing toward the Wisconsin River (along with the three houses!). :scared1:

yikes

Hi everyone..

Could you do me a favor and think good thoughts for DH..he just called..and said someone hit him on the freeway (brand new car - believe it or not..he was hit only a few weeks back and we just had the car fixed!) He is waiting for the police to show and he says his back hurts...he says he is fine but stuck on the freeway at the moment. I am nervous that he is stuck on the freeway..will be glad when the police arrive and he manages to get off the freeway and home. Says the car is still running but damaged.

I looked on the traffic site in our area and found him!

Desiree, hope he's OK

I had mentioned a few weeks ago that my ds12 is very passionate about animation/cartooning. Here is a drawing he whipped up this morning and I thought I should share it with all of the Disney fanatics I know! Sorry the quality isn't the best, I don't have a scanner, so I took a picture of it.

I think it's quite clever.....I had never thought about Peter Pan having to stop for directions....

PeterPancartoon002.jpg

Deanna, that's cute

No! I want to enjoy my dinner :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Do your boys always wear long pants to the dining room? Or do they sometimes wear nice shorts? I'm having trouble finding reasonably priced slacks for DS9 that fit him - he wears a SLIM size because he is so insanely skinny. (9 years old, 51 inches tall & 52 pounds!) The slims are almost never in our stores (regular and husky only - I guess they don't think there are skinny kids :confused3 ) and I haven't found anything with a good price online. He doesn't fit any pants from last summer, so one pair of black pants is all he's got right now!

Pamela

Pamela, the pants from the Children's Place have those elastic straps and buttons on the inside. You can take the waist in about 6 inches. They also sell them online in their school uniform section.

Like so much different kinds. Love my Yahoo Music!

Right

Excerpts from a Cat's Diary...

Day 983 of my captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.

They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am.

Jerks!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event.

However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow - but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.

The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.

The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe.

For now...

Getting into a fight in the parking lot was the farthest thing from my mind, it wasn't even on the horizon.

I was in a great mood and then I rear-ended a car.

So there we are alongside the road and slowly the driver gets out of the car and you know how you just-get-sooo-stressed and life-stuff seems to get funny?

Well, I could not believe it, he was a Dwarf.

He storms over to my car, looks up at me and says, "I AM NOT HAPPY!"

So, I look down at him and said, "Well, which one are you then?"

And that's when the fight started.

Am I going to get points for this???

EVE'S SIDE OF THE STORY

After three weeks in the Garden of Eden, God came to visit Eve. 'So, how is everything going?' inquired God.

'It is all so beautiful, God,' she replied. 'The sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking, the smells, the sights, everything is wonderful, but I have just one problem...

'It's these breasts you have given me. The middle one pushes the other two out and I am constantly knocking them with my arms, catching them on branches and snagging them on bushes. They're a real pain,' reported Eve.

And Eve went on to tell God that since many other parts of her body came in pairs, such as her limbs, eyes, ears, etc.......... she felt that having only two breasts might leave her body more 'symmetrically balanced.'

'That's a fair point,' replied God, 'But it was my first shot at this, you know. I gave the animals six breasts, so I figured that you needed only half of those, but I see that you are right. I will fix it up right away.'

And God reached down, removed the middle breast and tossed it into the bushes.

Three weeks passed and God once again visited Eve in the Garden of Eden.

'Well, Eve, how is my favorite creation?'

'Just fantastic,' she replied, 'But for one oversight. You see, all the animals are paired off. The ewe has a ram and the cow has her bull. All the animals have a mate except me. I feel so alone.'

God thought for a moment and said, 'You know, Eve, you are right. How could I have overlooked this. You do need a mate and I will immediately create a man from a part of you. Lets see........... where did I put the useless b**b?'

Now doesn't THAT make more sense than that stuff about the rib?

Thanks for the giggles this morning! I needed them. Everyone have a great tuesday!

G'mornin' pirate:
Oh goody, another evil hot day in h***.

M, does your school district allow you to choose to attend a different school within the disctrict? I think a lot of places refer to it as "School Choice". Here, we can do it as long as the other school isn't over-crowded and we provide the transportation (no buses provided). Having to transport your kids to a further school might be a pain, but if the other school isn't as awful as the current one it might be worth it.

On the plus side for now, isn't school about over? At least you don't have to deal with that for a few months. DS9 had a horrible first grade and DH & I were counting down those last days of school as fervently as he was!

Pamela

I don't even know if they offer school choice & I'm not sure it would help. The district is part of the problem and there is no escaping that. Plus, we really did our research before we moved in here. The school is great on paper and everyone we asked said good things about it. Oh well. What's another 2 years?? :(

Am I going to get points for this???

Lets see........... where did I put the useless b**b?'

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
The points were worth it!

We haven't had much luck at all. My DS's current coach benches him constantly throughout the game. He was benched 3 times the other night & we only had 2 extra kids. He's not that terrible, but even if he was, isn't this suppose to be about fun, sportsmanship, etc. :confused3

That stinks Diane. Drew is sitting more than he should be IMO. I think it's because we can't always get him to the field at exactly 5:30, so he's late. All they do before the game is play catch to warm up, but this is apparently very important. DH & I just can't justify leaving work before 4:30!

Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly, but when they lit a fire in the craft it sank -- proving once and for all that you can't have your kayak and heat it, too.

:rotfl: :rotfl:
I like kayak.

Will this help?

NNnnnoooooo!

Two men walk into a bar. Wait, that's just dumb. You would think after the first guy hit it, the other one would have ducked.

Two elephants are sitting in a bathtub. The one in front turns to the one in back and says 'pass the soap'. The one in back says 'What do you think I am, a typewriter?'

Sorry, best I can do. My brain is in old gear tonight. (I am just 2-1/2 short hours from turning 40 and I am going to stay up until I am 'one day closer to death')

J.R.....where are you???? Can't see you...
Oh well, I guess you're on the other side of that hill by now.
Happy Birthday!

When I worked for United Way, part of my UW 101 speech was "UW was founded by a priest, a rabbi and two ministers, we don'tknow if they ever walked into a bar together, but . . ."

Ok..decided to post the pirate joke I wasn't going to the other day but since we are posting jokes...

This pirate walks into a bar with a big ship's wheel down his pants. The bartender says, "Excuse me, sir, but do you know you have a ship's wheel down the front of your pants?"
And the pirate says...
Aaargh, it's driving me nuts!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

no more ketchup for me today...

What's the "summer feeding program"?

Here in the Oklahoma City school district they open a few schools for the Summer Feeding Program. We have so many single parents and kids being raised by relatives and a lot are on assistance and a lot of them don't have a lot of money for groceries. So what they've done here is create a program whereby any child, ages 0-18 yrs. can come to a designated school and get Breakfast and Lunch, for free M-F. And it's not just cereal and milk, lunch meat sandwich and chips. Like today we're having Biscuit and Sausage, juice and milk for breakfast. Lunch will be Hot Chicken Patty/ Bun,Tater Tots, Fruit and Milk. Thursday is Spaghetti and Breadsticks.
The program runs (this year) from June 9-July 25.

I'll bid 300,000 quatloos for the Wii fit!

Oh my God..this has to be a type-o! I'm never first on any list. :rotfl2:

We have a program like that here as well. It starts the first week day after school closes and runs until the last week day before school opens in the fall.

It's open to everyone 18 and under regardless of income. The only stipulation is you're not allowed to take ANYTHING out of the cafeteria. All of the food and drinks must be consumed in that area.

Many of the summer camps will walk their campers over to the closet elementary or middle school for lunch.
